Girlie Girl, (mostly:) ) with definite hatred for mechanics and dirt, but with your video, I changed out my parking light bulb ( impossible to replace without removing the headlight...(trust me, I tried). The turn signal bulb was easy. GREAT INSTRUCTION FOR THE 2011-13 TUNDRA 5.7!! The job took me 15 minutes.
Great video. Thanks! I did the mod and now when I switch on headlights, one of the Amber lights goes off, the other stays on. Before the mod, both ambers would remain on when headlights went on. And ambers stayed on when headlights went off. Any thoughts on fixing this?
I have a 2008 Crewmax Limited. Do you know of any possible affects changing out incandescent lights for LED's has on the lighting CPU's. For example the interior lights, including the mirror puddle lights fade in and out on my Tundra. I have been warned against going to LED's by a local Toyota dealer as well as an experienced after market installer.
CNT 2C56 LED's are able to run at lower wattage like incandescent bulbs. They will fade in and out just like the factory bulbs would. Pretty soon LED will be the norm for lighting.
Installed these with resistors step by step as shown in the video. Lights turn on, look good, but... When my headlights are on or switch turned to parking lights, the front ambers do not flash when I engage the turn signal. They are still on, just don't blink. They flash when my light switch is off (so during the day) I activate the key fob, or hazards. Any suggestions why the turn signal won't flash when the light switch is turned on? Thanks
mndonnell Sorry about the trouble! Have you tried to get a hold of us through email? Send us an email at sales@headlightrevolution.com and we can hook you up with some help!
mndonnell Yeah, send us an email so we can get a little more info from you: like the time-frame of when you purchased the bulbs and the year of your truck. We think we know what the problem could be and can help you out. sales@headlightrevolution.com So sorry about this!
I have a similar problem. The 15 amp fuse keeps blowing when I turn on my headlights at night. So none of the rear side marker lights are on in the rear. The DRL work and signal fine and I wired them according to the video. Any suggestions???
How come your add a resistor when you can replace the flasher relay with a low load flasher relay meant for led products? Seems like more work adding a resistor.
I have a question. I did this installation on my 2012 Tundra. The turn signals work when the headlights are off but do not work when the headlights are on. The light is one but does not flash. Any idea what would cause this.
+ChopperOutdoors Sorry about that, that's no good! Send us an email at sales@headlightrevolution.com and we'll be able to help you out and look up the specifics of your order too. We'll best be able to help you there.
+ChopperOutdoors Sorry about this. If you haven't already, be sure to send us an email at sales@headlightrevolution.com and we could help you out a little better there.
I have a 2011 Tacoma. I'm going to be doing this shortly. Is there any way you could test and tell me the exact colored wires I would need to splice into with it?
A good automotive circuit tester or a multi meter witch has other uses lick testing house hold a/c voltage and wire continuity with will trace a wire if the problem is placed on one end of a wire and the other probe on the other finding witch wires are witch if you can't get at some metal on the wire to get a reading may have to strip away a little wire insulation is the on other way I know then if it's not the Wright wire electrical tape over the striped spot
if it is JUST the turn blinker bulb..it can be replaced without removing the entire headlight assy. if it's the marker/running light bulb..not that easy.
So I install the resistors, it gets hot with the drl and running lights but when I turn on my headlights it cools down. I followed your wiring steps also. I don’t know why it get so hot??
I like LED, but I don't think i'm going to bother spending the money or hacking up my wiring. Living in salt covered road country, that may be a recipe for some problems down the road. Now what the heck can i do with my headlights!
That sounds very interesting, I have never heard of that happening! Shoot us an email with some more details and we will be happy to assist you with this! Sales@HeadlightRevolution.com
Unless you cut wire or have to end coming together just stipping back insulation and solder new wire on there is no way to get the heat shrink tubing on the only other alternative is liquid insulation it's like a thick rubber paint in different colors and it dries like the wire insulation I've never used it but home depot electrical depot. Carrys it
+dragon123443 Haven't really tried them. Those error free bulbs that they are selling look almost exactly the same as our Canbus bulbs: www.gtrlighting.com/canbus-bulbs/
Your full of crap btw, those two push pins don’t pull right out like you showed, try it on and older vehicle and they are as brittle as all can be and snap right off. Please continue to show video content on the most pristine vehicles, because that what we all own 🙄
I think the factory lights looked better in this comparison lol..... ill just stick with the oem for these. Love your videos buddy, very informative.
Man, LED technology has come a long way since this video. Now we have resistorless led bulbs that really shows a difference when blinking
Yes! The newer technology is so much better.
VERY Helpful video. You nailed it. Thank you : )
Looks good. but I prefer the more orange look of the oem amber light, Not to mention they are also brighter
Zeeangelofdeath I love the factory dark amber

You might want to up date some of your videos as some of the lighting products featured in your videos don't exist anymore.
Perfect install presentation...thank you! ☺️

I have the same issue- ever figure it our?
Really helpful
Glad it helped
Will the heat from the resistors not harm the back of the light housing?
What is the resistance on the resistor?
It varies depending on the application!

Question, which is the positive on the headlight wire? White with Black Strip or solid white?
blaster. My 2017 tacoma white with back stripe I ground throughout the truck
Hey thanks for the answer, I got another question for the front signal CK LED's do I need an LED flasher or only the ck LED's & resistors will do.
Emilio Magana No, all we needed for the install were the bulbs and resistors.
Installed these with resistors step by step as shown in the video. Lights turn on, look good, but... +Headlight Revolution is it a 12w 6ohm resistor or a 50w 6ohm resistor?
+wentaGT We used the 6 Ohm 50 Watt resistors.
Seems like more work adding a resistor.
mrtwor6 It is a little more work, but it has been one of the most reliable ways we have found. Sometimes a new flasher just doesn't fix the issue.
Are we sure its a 3157 bulb? Few bulb finder sites are saying 4157.
You have a part # for the led flasher relay?
It this is the same as the Tacoma 2014-15 ?

Hey man, I have a 2010 with the same problem. Did they ever tell you the fix for this issue?
No I ended up taking them out. Prob had something to do with lower quality bulbs.
I have a 2011 Tacoma. I'm going to be doing this shortly. Is there any way you could test and tell me the exact colored wires I would need to splice into with it?
It is on our list to do a video on how to test the wires on any vehicle. Not sure if it will be in time for you.

What about the light under the outside mirrors
Do you have to install a resistor for each turn signal light or just one for all the lights
Ken Reichenbach one for each. they waste power to match how much the old ones used. try replacing relay instead.
Hi how can I connect to the driver's side on the driver's side have white and purple red well the passenger side has white and purple pink
The rear LED blinkers bulbs need to be CK too ? Just wondering
Emilio Magana No, just the front ones are CK bulbs. The rear bulbs are not CK.
if it is JUST the turn blinker bulb..it can be replaced without removing the entire headlight assy. if it's the marker/running light bulb..not that easy.
So I install the resistors, it gets hot with the drl and running lights but when I turn on my headlights it cools down. I followed your wiring steps also. I don’t know why it get so hot??
Kongmeng Vang it's normal for them to get hot. Even the instructions they come with state that they will get hot.
Headlight Revolution my front turn signals stops working when the resistors get too hot
That's very weird. Give Returns@Headlightrevolution.com an email and they'll get you taken care of.
I like LED, but I don't think i'm going to bother spending the money or hacking up my wiring. Living in salt covered road country, that may be a recipe for some problems down the road. Now what the heck can i do with my headlights!
what about for a 2015 tacoma you guys sell the right bulbs for them?
ua-cam.com/video/oGl2Mz0bUA4/v-deo.html
Watch this video for the 2015+ Tacoma
Headlight Revolution not the same modle of truck my 2015 is before the one in the video. my amber signal lights are also my daytime driving lights
Just tested the carbide 7440, and it does not work for the DRL. Sorry
Everything I've tired burns fuses
Sir what is the problem if hassard continue blinking even car is turn off the key and the hassard push button is off?
That sounds very interesting, I have never heard of that happening! Shoot us an email with some more details and we will be happy to assist you with this! Sales@HeadlightRevolution.com
Can anyone confirm for a 2013 model that the correct wires are still pink and white?
What is saulder? Never heard of it.. I've seen solder. Is it the same thing?
Thanks
No problem!
That 3157 gtr lighting bulb looks not that great, I bought tuincyn bulbs with built in resistors and both are amazing and super bright
Intro song is Daft Punk Derrezed (Remix by Daft Punk)
We'll cool😁😁😁😀
Why resistance overheats.?
OMG why you don't turn off lights???
Soldering connections but then using electrical tape instead of heat shrink to seal the connection ??!!
You'll be hard pressed to prove that in this application how we did it is going to be a problem.
Duh on me. Made typo. Should have been "Check your", not "Check you".
LOL
Goodness i just need to replace my side marker
We can help you!
Just wait until everything breaks when pulling the trim, now you have 10 more issues.
Ha! Check you spelling on the "TOOLS NEEDED" list. It is spelled "Solder", not "Saulder". Duh Huh.
Haha, good eye. Thanks.
where is the fuse for the DRL?????
Pretty sure it's under the dash, It's been a while since we've had to check that.
Saulder and drill will bit. LOL
I came here because my parkinglight ans signallight not flashing
Sounds like a fuse may be blown!
Too expensive for little return.
Hey guys, what are your opinions on error free LED bulbs?
+dragon123443 Just to clarify, are you talking about bulbs with CANBUS functionality built into them? What do you mean by "Error free bulbs?"
+Headlight Revolution the ones with the resistor built into them. I think ijdmjoy sells them?
+dragon123443 Haven't really tried them. Those error free bulbs that they are selling look almost exactly the same as our Canbus bulbs: www.gtrlighting.com/canbus-bulbs/
I've tried the canvas and everfree bulbs worked at first but sometimes one or the other will hyperflash rain sometimes cold wheather
Your full of crap btw, those two push pins don’t pull right out like you showed, try it on and older vehicle and they are as brittle as all can be and snap right off.
