Yes 🙌 thank you velvet. I hate getting rid of things. I have worked so hard for my stuff. I try to keep things clean and organized but I don’t want to let my treasure go.

Yay, I fold my t-shirts in the same way and place them in my drawers like that. 😁

I tried Marie Kondo’s method of folding and vertical stacking. It looked nice, but all of my clothes were much too wrinkled to wear, even things like leggings and jeans. So, I went back to minimum, looser folding. I store as many clothes as possible on hangers, and move them to and from storage seasonally, on hangers, too. I don’t want to re-iron or re-steam everything that’s been in storage. My only exception is wool and cashmere clothing; I wash, dry and store those folded in zippered bags to prevent moth damage. I never store anything that hasn’t been freshly laundered or dry-cleaned. Storing clothes that seem ok, but have been worn, can be a disaster; some stains like those from “clear” beverages, aren’t apparent until they set in storage, then they can’t be removed. Clothes that have been worn attract insects, too.

It sounds like you have found a way that really works for you, which is great. I'm also in agreement with you on storing clothing items only after they have been freshly laundered or dry-cleaned. Some stains are indeed not visible at first, but over time they will surface and spoil the clothes. xx

Thanks for the t-shirt they are now nearly folded in my drawer. Let's see how long that lasts 😂. I'm usually rushing and haphazardly folding and stuffing them in 😂😂.

Thank you for this video, great tips! Just one small thing. NO WIRE HANGERS! I always find everything falls off the wire hangers but thin velvet hangers seem to work really well for me.

That's a great pointer! Thanks. I hadn't thought of that, because for those airy tops that fall off, I have used knit thread looped all round the wire hangers and hence, created this thicker and textured surface that prevents my clothes falling off. But velvet hangers is probably a much better way to go about it! XO

I actually like wire hangers because they are light and take less space... I have lots of clothes and these features are important for me... I just buy them all same color to make it look better ... any other hanger recommendations? :)

When did Marie Kondo's opinions become gospel? There are plenty of other home organizers.

That's absolutely true! There are indeed many, with plenty of good sorting methods too. So, Kondo's way is just another way that may not work for everyone. It certainly has not worked for me...And that's why I did this video. I wanted to show that you need to filter everything and adjust to your specific needs. Don't take anything as a gospel!

Good tips. BTW, it’s “compartmentalize”. Your English is great, though.🙂
