If you truly hate someone, give their children a drum kit.
Or a recorder
Or a harmonica
@Deadly Delight88 *their
@Deadly Delight88 That would be if u love ur neighbours
@@felixhughes8655 harmonica's only bad until you learn how to play it.
If you have to ask why a parent would sell a drum kit for 99p then you have never had children. I always threatened my sister I would give her little boy a drum kit for Christmas. I never did, I am not a sadist.
+richb313 Huh. In hindsight, that's really obvious...! -- Tom
+richb313 I've threatened to buy bagpipes for my nephews (They live on the other side of Canada, so I'm safe from the sound of them learning), but sadly my sister seemed supportive of the idea, and I really couldn't tell if she was bluffing.
So now I'm stuck in the awkward position of not knowing if I really should spend the money on a decent set of bag pipes for them or not, because if they DO want to learn, then I'm sure not getting them cheap garbage, but those things are expensive bits of kit if it it just for a joke.
***** 'smaller and quieter' rather defeats the purpose...
*not a satanist
+Matt and Tom Yup. I volunteer in a charity shop and I get put on till duty a lot. I don't know why, I'm a sarcastic git. But as a charity shop, we get a lot of kids toys that make noise, and I almost always make a joke with the suckers, I mean parents, about how they're going to regret buying said loud thing, and refer them to the permanent off switch.
And in case you didn't guess, yeah, it's a hammer.
The blokes who sold the drum kit just wanted a minute of silence. Rule 1 of parenting: never give your kids noisy toys unless your nerves are made of nanotitanium.
Children grow, so the child may just have outgrown the child-sized drum kit.
no lock them in a bunker
Had To ah, you took a page out of Colin Furze’s book
Probably the sadness came from "I'm only getting 0.99, but at least they'll make a child happy! Oh, wait, the buyer is some student who clearly doesn't have a kid."
My parents got me a drum kit when I was six and look at me now....
I love the sense of mild panic about the origins of a £1 drum kit
My personal hypothesis is fairly mundane: The child outgrew the drum kit.
Nillie if that were the case it'd cost more.. this smells more like a "i need to get kiddo's noisy as hell birthday gift out of the house before i end up losing my mind and start stabbing someone to death with a pair of drum sticks" kind of scenario to me.
Is there even a pents (pence?) symbol?
Pizzachu22 it’s “pence”, and it would be £0.99.
@@pizzachu2281 Or you can write it as 99p where the p stands for pence (or pennies I guess)

"Is the child alright? Has he gotten divorced?" That's one downbeat child, damn.
pretty sure he was talking about the father getting divorced but sure xD
Wimpy Kid that’s the joke
Vinny Reed No, that’s not the joke. The joke is thinking that he was talking about the child.
@@ithinkitspickingupalittleb8011 I think the joke was that even though in the context of what tom was saying it was obvious that he was talking about the father, when the lines a ree read in sequence without context ot is more likely to be interpreted as being about the child, as that is the only noun that the "he" in the second sentence could be reffering to in these two lines.
Eithrr that or I'm retarded and have managed to misunderstand everything
@@thebokchoy6854 I think that when people ask what the joke is, they're asking what makes the joke funny. And what makes it funny is not that what Tom was saying can be interpreted differently when out of context, but rather that such interpretation involves a child being divorced, which is ridiculous :P. So, Vinny Reed would be right in saying that was the joke if Wimpy Kid's comment were about the situation being preposterous, but it wasn't about that. It was about it being much more likely that Tom meant that about the father. Admittedly, the original commenter was definitely already aware of this, perhaps making Wimpy's remark a little pointless anyway.
I like the way Tom says, "I can't beatbox", with a tone that suggests he had never tried before but for a brief moment there was a possibility he might be a natural.
Like he once said that he absolutely cannot drink coffee? I concur
@@Mjws2907 Or ride a bike... Or take down a wrestling heel, or give his producer a tattoo....

Fun fact two years later: Trespass in the UK becomes actual trespass (and therefore illegal) only once the property owner (or his representative - shop manager, bar-keep, bouncer etc) has actually told the unwanted person or people to leave. Which is why in the great Harrods sit-in a few years ago, the shop staff got the police to come down, then told the folks involved in the sit-in to leave - they knew the police couldn't do anything until the sit-in folks had been told but once they had been told the police had the power to shift them if they didn't go voluntarily.
So, no, you weren't trespassing on private land but if the owner had asked you to leave and you didn't, that's when it would have become trespass.
And that, pinching Tom's phrase, is something you might not have known. (I did the SIA door supervisor course a few years ago, we had to learn this stuff, is how I know it.)
There's actually a course in how to be a door supervisor for Sia concerts? I figured she'd be rather strict but...
@@dlbstl 🤣
So.. It's not trespass if you're not caught?
@@GumSkyloard it's trespassing once the person doing it has been warned... But that only needs to be a sign - the classic Trespassers Will Be Prosecuted will do it.

Interesting that Tom bought two tom drums.... I wonder if that's cymbol-ic of something!!!
So it's Feb. 1st, 2019. I'm sitting in the bathroom, looking at UA-cam on my phone (as you do) and I thought "oh my god....was 'Two Drums and a Cymbal' Matt and Tom? I saw that video back in the day, but thinking about it now 'badger in a blender' was *totally* in Matt's voice, right?"

How neat.
It’s so weird that roughly the same amount of time has passed between the release of the Cymbal video and this video, than this video is to today
Don't be so hard on yourself, Tom.
I'm sure you can beatbox better than any of the owls on Britain's Got Talons, and you've already got the gloves. Audition time!!!

Same thing in Canada, you have to actually be told to leave (in person or by a sign) or open a closed gate in order to be technically trespassing

When you buy a drum kit for a small child, there's no batteries to remove.
first there would have been joy when he got notified it was sold, then the deflation when you handed him a pound, probably didn't know whether to thank you for the peace and quiet he gets, or to be angry at the measly reward. :D

That one was great! It was so funny (not the joke, but your reaction when it succeeded). :-)
Britain’s Got Talons would be an amazing show about falconry. If you ever make a new game show about outdoor games called something pun heavy like “Outstanding In Their Field” where you get people from STEM fields or farmers to compete in games it would be great!
Only someone with no kids would say "I don't know why someone would sell a perfectly good kids drum kit"
Old video, but I can certainly tell you why he was selling it for a pound. A family member had almost certainly given the kid a drum kit for Christmas, and it was driving the poor parents insane.
