Happy to tour Todos Santos with you.. First started to spend time there in late 80s. Started a b and b in 92. First one in the town. Moved there permanently in 93 and stayed 18 years. The brewery were you have beer just around the corner. Rode my horse on the beach were you were whale watching and on many of the streets were you were biking. Became bilingual, bicultural and a Mexican citizen. It was a lot of work but soooo much fun. The town changed a lot during that time. 3 years ago I went back. Many changes but many, many familiar faces and kind, loving memories to share with old friends. If you go back find someone to take you back into the mountains. The real ranchers are still there. Especially beautiful couple of weeks after a heavy rain. Was worth it all..
@@herrmannmarty It is pretty amazing to get a response from someone who stayed at Las Casitas. 2006, 2007 and 2008 were the most financially rewarding years. The 2008 crash translated to 50% occupancy in 2009 and 20% in 2010 and 2011. I headed back to Canada 2011. Touched base on the property for 5 months in 2013. Sold in 2014. It was an amazing experience. Right now coastal BC is being good to me. Thanks for the interest. Your kindness has made my day. Surely you are one of amazing people that made it a worthy experience.
I was just in Todos Santos and I ate at that restaurant. I had the breaded fish tacos and they were fantastic! While eating, I looked up at the top of the hill. There was a large, thatched roof palapa at the top of the hill that just fascinated me. There is something about Todos Santos that is just so comfortable. Felt it from the moment I entered the city, hopefully, I will be back there on a more permanent basis!
Just got back from there a few days ago. I like that town. Friends have vehicles I can borrow which really helps decrease the small town feel and opens up the surrounding countryside and beaches to explore. There's the usual touristy shops but that's avoidable. There's a lot to do in the area if you have a way to move around, from mountain biking, dirt biking, hiking, and surfing to just relaxing and doing nothing. Hope you found the superb birria stand near skate park and Poblanos.
Lots of people have recommended the birria! Hopefully we'll get there this weekend. Yea I think having a car would make things a lot easier to explore, but I'm really enjoying having bikes and just being out in the sunshine as much as possible!
Humpbacks breach very close to the beach there. There is a sea turtle conservation place on that beach and you can release baby turtles at sunset. The town is artsy and the food is amazing. Love Todos Santos
I hope you had the chance to go to Cerritos beach by a beautiful hotel Hacienda Cerritos Boutique Hotel! That was my favourite swimming spot not to far of a drive from todos santos 😊
We love Todos Santos. Attended the 2015 Todos Santos Music Festival put on by the Palapa Society...Peter Buck and friends including John Paul Jones, Jeff Tweedy....... just magical.
Thanks, Norm! The beach was beautiful. I didn't see anyone fishing there at the time we were there, maybe later in the day, but it was perfect for sitting and whale watching!
@@laura-bronner you guys need to catch your meal from the beach. Barred perch and halibut roam those beach’s. I have surf fish Rosarita beach, San Quentin and Ensenada and I’ve always done really well catch clean and eat the fish I catch. Make your own fish tacos👏😬
I was there in the 80s. Your bike seat needs to be a little higher. On the downstroke you want your knee almost fully extended but not quite. Once adjusted right your legs won't be so sore. 🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🌮🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️☀️
I see this all the time. People struggling to get more power into their bikes and with their seat way too low, preventing the leg from developing any power due to lack of extension.😭
I am learning Spanish in preparation for travel between US and Mexico. And we also have Spanish speakers who call at my job that I would love to not have to ring up a translator for. Any tips or tricks that helped you learn?
I have been using Baselang for almost two years now and it changed the game for me. I also read a ton in Spanish, use a flashcard app called Anki app to store new vocabulary and review that whenever I have a few spare minutes and I recently did some lessons with Lingoda which was a good way to get a better grasp on some grammar that I was struggling with.
Hotel Coli Bris is an amazing place to stay in Todos Santos! My favorite restaurants are Todos Santos Cafe & La Generala. We typically stay in Los Cabos but enjoy staying a few days in Todos Santos as a break from surfing all day every day on the East Cape. It truly is a gem of a town. Fairly untouched by time! If your looking for extravagant luxury then stay in Cabo San Lucas. If you’d like to relax in a sleepy, cultural, dirt road old Mexican Pueblo, then Todos is it!
Todos Santos Inn is a lovely old hotel owned by an American, Has a lovely corner bar and pool with nice atmosphere .Across the road is a nice hotel with pool on the roof deck with patio. Wonderful views.
Everyone has different taste when they travel. I'm only speaking for myself obviously. Not my favorite town but I can see the appeal. It doesn't feel anything like "real" Mexico. Pulling this quote from another site because it feels like a perfect description, "[i]t has now become the mecca for the new wave of bohemian style-conscious travelers looking for a swanky place to relax, eat well and be in the sun." The hype is definitely worth it for lots of people, but personally it wasn't special to me. Overall as a whole Baja is awesome.
Bike riding in Todos Santos! About damn time. Too many videos about the “surfers” and “artists” that hang out there. A good mountain bike or gravel bike would be ideal there.
I don't know if my bike is a good bike at all haha but it's a bike! and it's been fun so far to use it as a way of getting around. It's definitely a lot hillier than I thought it would be, but it should be a good way to stay fit while we're here haha
Todos Santos looks really cool! And in today’s video I learned a new phrase “vale la pena.” I would appreciate it if you dropped in more bits of Spanish. ¡Estoy estudiando español!
TS has changed much from my 1st visit in '69. Gringo's are now almost as plentiful as natives. and there seems to be resentment of US. Pescadero & San Pedrito were my hangouts.
It’s definitely on the list! We’ll be around this part of the country for a few months so I want to head over and maybe spend a few days there maybe next month!
@@laura-bronner you will love it. The beauty is surreal. Take the main road all the way until it turns to dirt..follow that all the way and heaven awaits you.
Sure, TS is good for a long weekend or a week, but then you start going to the same restaurant and eat the same taco.......just too small for anything longer.
It all depends what you're looking for - relaxing and not much to do but ride bikes, enjoy the sunshine and the sea and sand and eat fish tacos was exactly how I wanted to start the year :)
If you want something 'bigger' then just drive 90min to get to Cabo San Lucas or La Paz. People move to TS precisely because of it's smaller, more intimate, size.
It sounds like u have a complete lack of creativity and resourcefulness if you eat at the same restaurant and do the same thing in a matter of days. Glad you won’t be back!
SAME PEOPLE ARE VERY NEGATIVE ABOUT MEXICO IN GENERAL BUT YOU ARE SO UPBEAT AND POSITIVE. I LOVE YOU VIDEOS AND THANKS FOR SHARING.

Reminds me of Cancun in 1979. Small clean friendly little town.

Spent time there in the 80's when it was not so upscale. Great place to stay.
Yes Todos Santos was a great place. We were there two weeks ago and stayed at the White Sand hotel, which is actually an AirBnB owned by an American.
I’m loving it so far too!

I've seen a lot of those around!
Hi, do you have a nice hotel or hostel you can recommend in Todos Santos,Thanks
The Todos Santos Hostel is great - super speedy WiFi, cute little glamping tents or affordable dorms, decent location.
TS has changed much from my 1st visit in '69. Gringo's are now almost as plentiful as natives.

Hi to Amigo's at "SHUT UP FRANKS" bj
Unfortunately due to selfish breeding overpopulating the planet.
I was through there in 1976.
I bet it looked a little bit different then!
I saw that it had a future.
Goodness you know more about my town than I do! Jajajaja
Wait does that limonada mean Dry January is back on?!
Okayyyy lol craft beer 🍻🍻
Hahaha yea dry January is well and truly off but we have managed to stop having beer every single day like we were in December 😂😅
hola mas informscion soy tonita desde Texas
Another lovely vídeo Beauty.

We want to visit TS in Late November early December for a family vacation. If we like it we plan on staying there!!
I’m an American citizen and lived in the US my entire life. Retirement in Mexico is looking like a good thing
Como esta todo bien
👍
🎇🎇🎆 fantastic
Thanks!
Maybe you should get an ebike?
might as well buy a used car at the prices of ebikes in this area.
I think you sould change your mask, it's obvious that it doesn't help too much.
its much to big and open
I don’t want to sound like your mother, but put a hat and sunglasses on. You’ll regret it later in life.
I have both haha, I just take them off when I record myself so that you can see me a bit better!
@@laura-bronner Maybe this person missed your extensive collection of hats!
@@hideawayhomesllc5103 guess I did. It pains me to see her squinting into the sun and riding her bike hatless. 😆

Nice video. Disappointing to see the mask idiocy extends all the way down to Baja Sur. I was hoping Mexicans would have more common sense.
MOST DO!
Todos Santos is over-rated. Replace the word "so" with descriptive words.
You are so cute ❤
