They actually went bankrupt a few years ago. As poor as the game is, I was actually sad to hear it. I mean if all the bad video-game creators stop making games then what the hell am I supposed to do in my spare time?!
2:23 There is an 8th game but it must be unlocked. I found this out by complete accident when i was going through each mini game completing them on every difficulty ( I’ve had alot of spare time recently ) and the game is titled “phlegm”. It’s a game where you have to match images together from a map ( the images are of pirates ) and it plays like snap. I just thought I’d mention it.
Funnily enough I ADORE series 1 of Little Britain. Especially for when it came out it was some of the smartest and funniest shit on British TV. Then, sadly, almost immediately, it lost everything. S2 and S3 do NOT need to exist. I mean, okay, S1 did copy the formula every so often but it was kept different ENOUGH to keep it enjoyable, at least - and when it wasn't copying the formula, the skits were really well-written and actually pretty damn subtle with how they were acted. At least, compared to S2 and 3. Once those seasons aired, Little Britain was a phenomenon - and it went SO far to Lucas and Walliams' head that it's cringey. Every skit was recycled - the same EXACT jokes but in different locations over and over again - the scripts were getting shit - the audience laughter was overused - and the worst thing was that ANY slight hint of a catchphrase or joke was always SCREAMED at the audiences that time around. Like they KNEW how well the show was doing and how 'funny' they were, so all they figured they'd have to do is scream catchphrases and scream every other line to be funny again whenever they used the same jokes, which was often (case in point, Emily Howard - the character just gets louder, dumber and more unfunny in every succeeding season, while doing the EXACT same jokes). It's a shame because I really do love series 1, I just have no fucking idea what happened. Might have been for the sake of printing money, I dunno. It worked, whatever it was!
Over the years I've seen people accuse Ricky Gervais of destroying the reputation of Little Britain (and a lot of other "classic" comedy shows). All I can say to this is dude, it NEEDED to be destroyed. Oh, by the way, that part where you say about the editor dubbing a laugh track over Lucas and Walliams' antics? That was never done on the UK version - that's the reaction of the live audience who was watching the show. Yeah, let that sink in.
Little Britain is so awful that it destroyed it legacy itself for the most part. It received positive reviews in its early days, when that kind of comedy might have seemed new and fresh, with some even comparing them to Monty Python, but it has really aged poorly and doesn't hold up in the slightest. While it showed some signs of life in its early days, in its later seasons it quickly became obvious that it was just an unfunny, uncreative mockery of fat, old, dumb, gay, etc., people. Which would have been half as bad if it would have at least done it in a funny, original way, but instead it overly relied on catchphrases, running gags, wigs, fatsuits, drag acts and other unfunny nonsense you thought would have died out since the late 80s.
@MrBipson You know there's only so far the whole "get thicker skin" thing can go, right? Eventually, you'll end up stopping and thinking that maybe there's something else wrong, than just the people complaining about it. You know... If you had some shred of self-awareness, that is.
Ironically, Ricky Gervais has done a bang-up job destroying his own reputation, by basically just stooping to similar school bully-type lows, that Tennings essentially described Little Britain of doing.
@David Meads I was about to say, that Scots are in no position to talk about humor since they made "Chewing the fat", but... here you are... What else do you like? Rab C. Nesbitt?! Is there a line you wouldn't cross, you deprave creep?!!
Little Britain is a garbage bin version of The League of Gentlemen. Ironically, a survival horror game set in Royston Vasey sounds like something someone would like to play
Funnily enough, Mark Gatiss was involved in a series 1 episode of "Little Britain" (during a sketch involving a woman (played by David Walliams) trying to make her son famous by auditioning him).
I did the same, i actually found this show funny at age 16. Now i'm deeply ashamed and watching those sketches again is so weird, like i'm disgusted with myself
Just to let you know, the frog mini-game was based on a single sketch of a woman who was obsessed with frog merchandise, but when her friends buy her a real frog for her birthday she's so terrified of it that she ends up killing it. And the reason why "Emily" the transvestite was playing football was because there was a sketch in the show where he's walking with his friend and a football lands near him, and he's suddenly overcome with the urge to play football. But apart from that, you got it all spot-on, this game is downright terrible XD
And to think I have had this game sitting on the shelf gathering dust since i was a shitty little teenager. Might give it to somebody I hate as a present for next christmas.
You actually managed to make the clip at 5:20 a lot funnier than any other scene in Little Britain. Perhaps this will be the next generation of canned laughter - canned commentary?
It's hard to pick a favorite among so many great tracks, but "The Greatest Love of All" is one of the best, most powerful songs ever written about self-preservation, dignity. Its universal message crosses all boundaries and instills one with the hope that it's not too late to better ourselves. Blackwood976, it's impossible in this world we live in to empathize with others, we can always empathize with ourselves. It's an important message, crucial really. And it's beautifully stated on the album.

really liked your point (my best friend tried to get me to rewatch that show recently 😭) about bullying but you also say it appeals to "retards" which is a bit hypocritcal.. we all know the term originates from a medical term for developmentally disabled people, when considering that they are extremely vulnerable and not looked after in our society properly, i don't understand the humour in it. as they can't actually defend themselves you rarely hear it defended like other slurs are.

Like the maker of this video, I was 12 at the time. I watched it again recently, and the show definitely doesn't hold up. I recently also found out that Tom Baker, the fourth doctor (the best doctor who), did the voiceover for this show, but even that couldn't save the show
George Snow It's completely unfunny garbage and he's criticising it because many uneducated people liked it for reasons those with a brain can't fathom. Offensive =/= Humour
I LOVED early Little Britain when I was younger but as it went on it became the British equivalent of Family Guy (which I also found funny as a dumb kid). I remember liking the older little Britain radio series a lot more. It had less catchphrases and a lot of sketches which never got on tv. My guess is there was less effort to appeal to lowest common denominator on that. It's still got a lot of the same problems as the tv version tho, although the tv one just got worse and worse
You kind of missed the point of Little Britain. For example the "gay" character wasn't really gay and was just dressing up as a stereotype for attention. He met many truly gay people who weren't effeminate and dismissed them. It was a commentary on expectations
Beardy McShades True. I'm an American and grew up in the ghetto and know better than this. bloodrunsclear it’s not hard at all to understand. The American accent is shoved down our ears because of modern media, we’re probably used to more accents than Americans.
7:28 To be fair, that was the point of the skit. "Emily" would be in full drag saying "I'm a lady"and acting ladylike before doing something a man would do. Or use his (normal David Walliam's) voice. Like I think the scene you used with "Emily" being arrested was a example of that.
in case anyone wants to know the last level is a stupid memory game in which you have to match gay pirates and yes i did not make that up, it's based on the mr mann sketch
British sketch shows took a weird fucking dive in the 2000s. Little Britain, The Catherine Tate Show and *shudder* Bo Selecta were just so lazy, relying on the same one-joke characters and mind-numbing catch-phrases in every god damn episode for YEARS. Sold-out Little Britain live tours where they'd just perform skits taken straight from the episodes were even a thing. It's populist entertainment at it's worst.
Tennings, I've heard Little Britain The Video Game is one of the worst video games of all time. Thankfully I never played it on Sony PlayStation 2, PSP nor the PC. I don't even bother to play it.
8:25: Fun fact: Little Britain: The Video Game was actually banned in Germany due to this level. This caused the game to be accused by Germans for homophobia. The game was then indexed by the BPjM (which is Bundesprüfstelle für jugendgefährdende Media for short) and was eventually banned altogether in Germany.
2:23 There's actually an 8th minigame on the PSP version, where you play as Anne, who in the show, was a patient in a psychiatric ward who would only say 'Eh, eh, eh', and you have to go around picking up flowers and throwing/destroying them whilst avoiding doctors, which you get points if you stun them.
Hold on you first pointed out that Vicky pollard can't skate very well in the show, then you complain that in the mini game of her skating she performs badly???? Sounds like the developers did well

Where HAVE I heard THAT before?
ahem ZilianOP
I'm glad I never saw this when I was younger, it used to be the "cool" thing at school
Tbh, Little Britain USA was fucking hillarious.
THEY ACTUALLY MADE A LITTLE BRITAIN GAME! WTF!!!
You're the first channel I knew to review this game. Recently, UA-camrs have just started to notice this game lol

To be fair, that was the point of the skit. "Emily" would be in full drag saying "I'm a lady"and acting ladylike before doing something a man would do. Or use his (normal David Walliam's) voice. Like I think the scene you used with "Emily" being arrested was a example of that.
Fancy seeing you here
At the end when you said "well, there is one use" literally the first thing that came to mind was putting it in the microwave 😂
I was tipping the toilet.
in case anyone wants to know the last level is a stupid memory game in which you have to match gay pirates and yes i did not make that up, it's based on the mr mann sketch
Personally I prefer to stick with The League of Gentlemen, similar kind of show, but it's actually funny
Talks about social justice > calls people regards
The only funny thing about Little Britain is Doctor Who saying absurd shit in the voiceover narration between each abysmal sketch.
Tennings, I've heard Little Britain The Video Game is one of the worst video games of all time. Thankfully I never played it on Sony PlayStation 2, PSP nor the PC. I don't even bother to play it.
Lol Only Fools And Horses completely blows this one out of the water 😄
8:25: Fun fact: Little Britain: The Video Game was actually banned in Germany due to this level. This caused the game to be accused by Germans for homophobia. The game was then indexed by the BPjM (which is Bundesprüfstelle für jugendgefährdende Media for short) and was eventually banned altogether in Germany.
For crappy cd games cut them into shuriken
I remember this, i could never get past the first level, it's one of those games that make you want to break your PS2 controller!
I had this game as a kid and my god I loved it, completely forgot it existed until now and holy shit it's aged horrendously😂
2:23 There's actually an 8th minigame on the PSP version, where you play as Anne, who in the show, was a patient in a psychiatric ward who would only say 'Eh, eh, eh', and you have to go around picking up flowers and throwing/destroying them whilst avoiding doctors, which you get points if you stun them.
didn't think I'd ever see someone over analyse Little Britain
I was so happy to see you reference Extras
the show was funny and interesting but
the game man, it's really depressing
super
saddening
I enjoyed the first two seasons of the show personally, the third season was an abomination and this game is the worst i've ever played
Did you know that Whitney Houston's debut LP, called simply Whitney Houston had 4 number one singles on it? Did you know that, Blackwood976?
I loved your fan commentary of the Lou and Andy clip from 5:16 !
Hold on you first pointed out that Vicky pollard can't skate very well in the show, then you complain that in the mini game of her skating she performs badly???? Sounds like the developers did well
Sailor Sedna yes I did but by definition she is a bad skater, so perhaps this was intentional to make her perform badly.
This game looks like an early Dreamcast game.
