When we did Hoffman at IO she sang Olympia, and i got to conduct her in rehs. First time she sang the high Ab in alt, I about flipped. Chorus Master-IO
This is next to her Met-performance the most amazing Olympia. Everything is nearby an ideal, great singing. I think the 6 dislikes came from her fellow students which haven´t got Rachele´s gifted talent and they spend their frustration about cracked career-dreams to press the dislike-button.
The cutest part was watching the violinist in the back row. He couldn't keep his eyes off of her. He looked like he was crushing on her all through the performance.
@@iarladonlon2826 In even more fairness lets try to take in to account two factors, first the line of sight to the conductor and two who could take their eyes off her (even a professional with a job to do) for a nano-second. Surely after all the rehearsal time, he knows when the cute parts are coming up and when to concentrate on playing.Unlike, George Costanza. LOL
Agreed, one should always strive for perfection in opera and continue to work on weaknesses and enhance strengths throughout his/her career. I believe that opera singers, even metropolitan opera singers should see a voice teacher throughout their career to ward off bad habits from forming and to perfect technique. A good opera singer never stops learning or perfecting......
gezzz... even her middle and low is just lovely... Ed Zambara use to say "high sopranos have to work mostly on thier middle voice... since that's where the tunes and words always are... IF that works well... with a proper, secure technique... everything else should fall in place..." he always had them work on a LOT of Hugo Wolff songs... Rachele certainly did the work... she sounds amazing!
1:59 I love how everyone takes the humor as intended, but as soon as Ms. Gilmore makes any noise the audience goes silent. Her talent is on par with Regula Muhlemann.
This woman should be a major star by now - after her remarkable debut at The Met - where are the recordings? I want to see her star in a new production. That will bring me back into NYC
She has amazing range. I love her voice and the high F# (G?) is effortless and stunning. Brava!!! I only wish the guy sitting in front could sit still - making this better listened to than watched. Also wish there were more of Rachele on UA-cam. She had a lot that were made "private". Not a good way to promote a new talented coloratura IMHO.
Agreed this performance is absolutely amazing but what pleased me most was the sound quality of the video itself. I wish all my other favorites sounded like this. Most sound like the performer was in another room.
right technique and clear voice ! Only such people can sing well till the end of their life. I wish I could sing so beautifully like her!
Best version I've found so far...
that is real coloratura, so high and light, smooth. Thats was fantastic
I was there and it made my head spin ,it was awesome a once in a LIFETIME experience!
It's the intorpolation in the 2nd verse that gets me when she climbs that scale. Wonderful technique and beautiful voice.

John Schmid you weren't expecting it :)?
I found this yesterday and have watched all the performances on UA-cam since then. Hers is the best one.
Unbelievable Performance 😻😻😻😻😻 Goosebumps from start to finish
I really like this performer. She has such a great voice. When she hit that Ab6... That was awesome

Incredible voice I was there for this and consider myself lucky!

+sagerainwillow Aren't we all?
He looked like George Costanza
you can see him smile and shake his head when she hits the high note at 3:23
In all fairness... She's also very attractive 😍

What a voice! Can't stop listening to it...
A bird in the body of a human
It's like, her bloodline are evolving into demi-humans!
Anibal lol
I KNOW RIGHT!!!!!
Well, Olympia is a robot pretending to be a coloratura imitating birds singing in a garden
Jaw-dropping 😮 probably one of the best performances ever
Most in this audience had never heard an aria before any. This audience left the Meyerhoff with their mouths agape!
how do you know that 'most in the audience had never heard the aria before? clairvoyance? interviews, survey?

Hail Freedom Agreed
Perfectly.... this is what I say so the time. As soon as they stop studying decline starts afterward.
I think I found my new favorite coloratura!
Pure delight throughout the whole performance!
ABSOLUTELY PHENOMINAL (musical too!) - beautiful.
Just simply incredible 💥

I'm just speechless ...wow, incredible!
amazing voice.....i like it..
Speecless........real angel voice
Una gran voz súper aguda y muy bonito el timbre de su voz de las mejores versiones que e escuchado de esta aria
My ears are blessed. I also love how the violinist sniffles as if to say "Of course she had to THAT too" right after she hits the Ab6.
Really nice french prononciation :) and yes, singing too :D
Wow this is awesome, you're incredibly amazing! Amazing and beautiful tone, out-of-this-world control of vibrato and tone!!! WOW.
Fantastic!
❤Ракеле ...выдающаяся актриса оперного искусства .Брависсимо ооо.❤❤

This woman should be a major star by now - after her remarkable debut at The Met - where are the recordings? I want to see her star in a new production. That will bring me back into NYC
That debut was stunning.
❤ Wonderful ❤
She is superb!

stokleyb it's actually an Ab6, though she also sang a G and F# here :)
FABULOUS 😮😮😮😮😮
She was awesome
wow she's awesome...
Pretty funny. I was laughing like crazy. Great voice; she's a comic-genius as well.
Genius, huh?
3:23 😊
She keeps going up!
Wow🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
middle C to Jupiter
Amazing
Incrível!!!!!!!!

Holy crap. What's her range?
Infinity.
Talent, talent, talent. Where did you find this girl?
3:23 always gets me
Самая наилучшая кукла Олимпия всех времен и народов!!!!!
Listen to how steady her sound is and how close the vibrato is.
what i wouldnt kill to hear her live :')
Well, you can start with all the cockroaches in your bedroom.
She would make a fine Gilda, I think.
Perfect 👏❤️👏❤️👏❤️👏❤️👏
великолепно. в русском языке просто нет слов, чтобы выразить насколько ваше пение восхитительно
I can’t stop going back to Natalie Dessay slow-tempo Doll Song. It’s just so different and impeccable.
Va por muy buen camino!
Pitch perfect in every way.
I wish I know what she is saying
Highly unlikely, she's speaking in doll language 😂
Ракеле Гилмор !
*Олимпия* 5':52"!
Брависсимо !
Bill Gilmore is our commissioner for the Arts in Baltimore Rachel is his niece .Do you think this family is committed to the ARTS?
Well, she's so funny, a great performace
5:35 is glorious
BRAWISSIMO !
u.u otra soprano ligera de coloratura, pense que solo Natalie Dessay había
👏👏👏👏👏
Brava Rachele!!!!!!! Brava!!!!!!!!!!!
太厉害了!
Zum Ausklang des Tages,
Rachele Gilmore singt die Olympia,
aus Hoffmanns Erzählungen.
Viel Spass!
Schöne Stimme!
God, I wonder what it’s like to be able to sing that high. I’d be breaking everyone’s ears all the time. I have such a low voice so I can’t. :
3:20
Невероятное исполнение
mindblowingly
👌
👏👏👏👏👏🥰🥰🇧🇷🇧🇷
Is she snow white in the real life?, cuz I think that she might be
Last two cents: OMG!
she looks a lot like emilia clarke
The one person that disliked this is a mute.
Toutes dans le vent et elle dans l'air des temps.
미쳤다 와😮
shes just amazing here...not quite sure about her Lucia (not as high for her voice to shine as in this aria)
Can u break glass
But thankfully she has the right stuff.
My own honest opinion......I kind of prefer this version vs when she was wearing that over the top costume
MADO ! C'EST TOI ?...
I know this is supposed to be comical but the song sounds sad at times. 😢😢😢
