Does it stop ticking when you pull to position 3

If it has a hacking, yes.

My Rolex watch is impossible to get into position 3 to set the watch. I pull it out as hard as I can.

I would not suggest to apply too much pressure. Maybe check with a local watchmaker to make sure everything is working fine.
