Nice video! And what a watch! Got a 1970 grey dial OP Date much like the one you show, absolutely love it. Robust, yet understated. The light effects on the grey dial are sublime.
My mother gifted me a 1500 reference when I graduated law school in 2016. I’ve worn it nearly every day since then - it’s been such a reliable everyday watch. I have other watches but keep going back to the classic proportions and ability for the oyster perpetual case to just “disappear” on the wrist
Very nice! Thx. Do you know if there were Oyster Perpertual and Oyster Perpertual Date Watches that came without lume on the dial and hands but have the "T Swiss T" marking? I came across two of them recently with absolutely no signs of lume but it seems kinda odd to me that this would happen. I've read of cases of it but trying to get more answers. Thanks again!
So if t Swiss t is written on the dial but no lume can be found, neither on the dial nor on the hands, then it is very likely that something is wrong with the dial. Possibly the tritium is broken off from all applied surfaces, but then does not explain the lack on the hands. so I have never seen a tritium marked watch without lume but that is also not a clear sign, so possible is everything when it comes to vintage watches 😅 I would keep my hands away from these pieces.
What watch ref do you have in the thumbnail? I've got the exact same one, at least visually, but i can't figure out which it is. In my case, it looks like a 15000 but doesn't have a quickset date - unless mine is just broken? I'm not sure
Very good price for a vintage Datejust. But I can’t recommend you something, because there a so many things to be aware of ( condition, condition, condition)
@@GoldammerVintageWatches I know, it's a great video! There's a 1008 currently available I really like, but it would need an extra 2-tone folded link to fit. Very difficult to find. Don't know if a more modern link could be added to the bracelet until I can find an original?
3:38 I have that ad from the same series in my basement 1:1 framed: "if taming oil well fires were your job you'd wear a Rolex". Not sure firefighters would bring their Rolex to the job today but eh they are "tool" watches after all. Do firefighters have priority at the AD? lol
I wanted a stylish OP Date. Thanks to Mickey Mouse, I found just the watch. Seriously: a ref. 15200 with Mickey right there on the dial, & he always has the right time. Nicest watch I've come across with Mickey on board, nothing "Mickey Mouse" about this joint! Now, to unite my 15200 OP Date Mickey with a proper box & ephemera...

Thanks a lot for your kind feedback! Absolutely agree, understated design and built like a tank and very reliable
What is the reference number?
Great video as always!
Thanks man! We really appreciate your feedback 🙏
Great video. One additional difference from the Datejust on the steel is the brushed centre link which makes the Date more wearable day to day
Thanks man!

I bought a 15000 a couple of months ago and really like the vintage feel
Congrats! A daily workhorse 🐎
@@GoldammerVintageWatches yes indeed, Got the tudor BB 54 since last week as well. So a nice combination of vintage look and feel to play around with

I wear my grandfather's oyster perpetual date from the 70's on a regular basis. Just works with any outfit dressed up or down. 👌🏼
So great! Wear it with pride. Unfortunately me grandparents don’t enjoyed watches back in the day 😅
I appreciate this a lot,thank you
You’re welcome ;)
What a compendium of information!
Thanks man!
Very informative thank you.

Can’t tell you right now
Would you recommend me to buy a datejust oyster perpetual black dial 36 mm from 1982 at usd4k?
Very good price for a vintage Datejust. But I can’t recommend you something, because there a so many things to be aware of ( condition, condition, condition)
does the slash mean anything?? ive been trying to find more infromation for ref. 1505 but didnt see it listed
What do you mean exactly?
Don't worry. Be happy.👍.
I have the same as the original brightness, is there a buyer for it?
My favorite is the OP 1008 Zephyr. A unique watch in the Rolex line-up & two-tone only.
It’s really something special! We also made a whole video about the Zephyr model line 😊🙏

Uhhh 🤔 I thinks modern link wouldn’t fit…
Excellent video. I 👍 Rolex.
Thanks a million! We appreciate your support:)
@@GoldammerVintageWatches I 👍 watches. Not all but the good ones. Perhaps it is my hobby.
It is not support. I had ROLEX and they are 👍.
Only Allah knows. Talk with Him.🙏.
One of the benefits of retirement is that I can wear my ‘69 gold Date every day. 😊
😄✊
Nice, I’ll be join that club soon !😊
Nice video but what about reference numbers 1003 and 1007?
Thanks! The 1003 & 7 are without date. The video only covers OP date references :)
Nice vid
Thanks 🙏
vidEO is better.
💋s to you.

Haha! Vintage displays are really a great decoration for the home!!!
I think 34mm is fine. If your looking for vintage thats what you expect. The oyster date....I would love to have one
Couldn’t agree more!

Nice, congrats! What means ephemera?
you forgot the all important fact that it has rolled links! very unusual
No 1570 movement?
?
Awesome!! I have 15200 but idk much till this day 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks man 🙏
