My "Y" migration was through Italy from Measna-Sara, Florence, through Ribicon and ultimately as a prisoner in Madera. Apparently Many Great Grandpa Y refused to convert, lost his banking, lost his family and ultimately was sold to Roman mariners as an oar slave. His decendants migrated out of England and the Netherlands to North America. Ever heard of Rhode Island? Ever heard of Rhodesia? The greatest Ashkenaz trait is survival. Their activity level both intellectually and physically is stunning.

More recent genetic population data suggests that probably none of the 4 most prolific female founders of Ashkenazic Jews had lineages of Northern Italian origin, contrary to what is stated on the video at 48:06. One of those four haplogroups, K1a9, is Middle Eastern and shared with non-Jews in Syria and Iran. Another, K1a1b1a, is likely southern French. Neither of those is found in Italian gentiles. The other two have more murky backgrounds and research is ongoing. The video is also incorrect to state that there are no Turkic genetic elements in Ashkenazim because recently we found the Ashkenazic variety of N9a3 to be the direct descendant of the branch found in Turkic-speaking Bashkirs and Mongolic-speaking Daurs. Read my study "The Maternal Genetic Lineages of Ashkenazic Jews" published by Academic Studies Press. But was the Khazar conversion exaggerated by some medieval writers? Yes. Most of Khazaria's population didn't convert to Judaism but some did and some settled in Kyiv and understand and use both Hebrew and Turkic runic letters as stated. So I can agree with Professor Abramson and I disagree with Shaul Stampfer's attempt at total negation of the existence of Khazar Judaism.

It's remarkable how Zionist Jews deny the existence of the Khazarian Empire

Hahaha, Prof.Shaul Stampfer, a blue eyed, red haired white man debunking the history of the Khazarians. Biblical Hebrews were dark hair, eyes, and skin, like modern day Palistinians. Stampfer is a typical Zionist.

This explains how I got my Ashkenazi genes from Sicily. Thank you. And my Sephardic genes, too.

How did your institute choose Budapest as its home base?

Truth is, Budapest chose us. The local Jewish community is working on generating a mini-renaissance of Ashkenaz on its home turf. ;)

@@ashkenazium Thank you for your reply.. I was curios because in 2000 I was in Budapest and visited the Synagogue and admired it greatly
however when entering the museum I just fell apart and a visiting american Jewish young girl grabbed my arm and took me outside. I am happy you took Budapest's offer to host.
(I am not Jewish) I enjoy listening to history of the Jews, it should be taught in all schools, sadly the education system isn't what it used to be. Also my brother is methodist with a Jewess as his God Mother, she was found by a British officer at a camp and eventually married. Again, thank you for your reply

So is it a coincidence the Khazars all converted, 1,000 years ago? Sooo 1,000 years of Ashkenazi.. hmmm wasn't that a "thousand" years ago? I think it's pretty obvious, the writings of Eran Elkhaim, the famous Israeli geneticist was right, correct?

Kicker Punter. Eran Elhaik used Armenian and Georgian Dna as a substitute for Turkic dna and was severely chastised for his methodology.

      What's good about it?
It's the source of the NAZI (right)?
Their Talmud is so hateful toward OTHERS, its writings have been kept secret (beheading, enslavement, etcetera).
