I find MTO extremely lacking in intuitive features, it's like someone said "lets make this impossible to figure out"
Great info, This definitely helped me out in the process! For sending the claim map and any photos of the claim, you mentioned you need to send that to the ministry. Is this done on the MTO site or will this be a email being sent to them with all the info regarding your report (Event number, Claim ID)?

This video is exactly what I was looking for, just out of curiosity do you need to keep and or submit receipts for food/lodging etc?
So glad to hear …. As for the receipts-You should keep them in case they as for them but I don’t submit them
Great content! 👍 I have one question though, is there a minimum on moving the good to date? For example can I move it 3 months if thats all the work I have done. 🤔
Thanks so much ... No minimum that I know of but there is a 10 year Maximum...now that is with physical work , not paying in lieu ( minimum 6 month I believe)

@@CanadianGoldMining What sort of trailer do you recommend living in while working the claim? I wouldn't expect to be there once the snow flies.
@@virtly2159 - one that keep you warm i guess.. lol... there are no rules about what kind of trailer can be used , only that it cannot be left on the claim unless you are actively working it
@@CanadianGoldMining Where do you recommend looking for claims for sale or expired? I'd prefer Southwest BC.
@@virtly2159 Check MTO daily forfeits for claims coming up .. there are often calims for slae on FB, Kiji etc but make sure you do your due diligence/research ... thats about all i can suggest
I'm sick of dealing with the MTO, it seems like their goal is to push out all the small time and recreational holders of claims. I panned on my claims this summer and I filed my report and received an email saying it was insufficient. My report included the amount of material moved, how much was processed and how much gold was recovered.
Them: why did you choose to work that location?
Me: because it looked good to me.
Them: thats not a good enough reason.
Them: what was the weight of the material processed?
Me: I didn't weigh each pan I did, I thought we were dealing in cubic meters here...
Them: thats not good enough...
Them: please provide proof of assay results.
Me: I was panning and I provided you with the weight of gold recovered, material wasn't "assayed"
Them: thats not good enough, since the report you filed is incomplete your claims have been cancelled.
The way the MTO is operating this past year, they have definately been trying to make it harder on the little guy.
