- Hello Tetri-minions! Check out our new performance of “Into the Thick of It” from the SNES RPG Secret of Mana! We go “all out” to turn this simple field theme into a jazz fusion / progressive rock tour de force!
This time, we wanted to try new ideas across the board: new arrangement and instrumentation ideas, new playing techniques, new approaches to recording, new mixing ideas, new video ideas, etc. For example, we made great strides in our instrumentation, by having Kris play multiple synth parts split across his hands. Combining these split keyboard parts with the rest of our instrumentation allowed us to create even richer arrangements! We decided to go full force to bring you guys our most energetic jazz fusion/prog rock remix to date! Let us know if you liked it by leaving a comment below!
Thanks for joining us on our recent 10K subscriber livestream special! We had around 60 viewers! If you missed it you can check it out here: • Livestreams!
And of course, special thanks to Marc Papeghin for editing the video! Check out his channel below:

I know this one took a lot of thinking out and planning with everything, but from the fantastic dynamic changes, freaking dirty slap grooves and amazing use of synth and soloing I think this easily marks a new benchmark for your music.
Swiggles1987 Ro you say this about each video :3. You better watch out or you're going to be hit by a dirty slap (groove).
HatTrax Stop improving, problem solved xD I will say though this one genuinely stands out among the last few for me. *flinches*
Swiggles1987 *slap*
You can't believe how fast I clicked on this

Your version of this on the piano with Aivi is my favorite rendition of this song.
I usually don't do this but... "One person's confused". Great job you guys! I love the time changes and all the little solo sections. You really took this song and ran with it!
Super Guitar Bros Thanks guys!! Glad you liked it :D
+Super Guitar Bros Yeah, no doubt. I loved the 7/8 section around 00:52. Very cool.

Erick Garcia Thanks!! We tried to merge a lot of different styles into this one
Hehe goodness you guys outdid yourselves with this one, amazing... Around 2:30 I was going to explode of amazement lol. This really shows the potential you guys have to play any song and make it amazing!!
If you guys ever perform live I'm so there. x)
SheIIyDeKiller Thanks a lot!! We do our best to make each song our own. And we'll certainly let all of our fans know if we ever play live!! :D
Those bass lines are incredible.
Hekdar Thunderfist Thanks!! I learned a bunch of new slap techniques recently that I got to put into action :D
@@HatTraxI really love your playing man! Sweet lines supporting and emphasizing all the right things! Your tone is killer too, super clear and mean. May I ask what plugins etc. you were using to achieve your tone?
I've been waiting for Kris' flaming piano solo(? not really a solo) ever since the live stream! Incredible work guys, really loved the arrangement!!
Linferno Thanks!! Glad you could make it to the live stream!
***** get over here! :D
Absolutely amazing guys. It is always a joy to hear all of you play. Also, that video editing was fantastic, I know HatTrax mentioned that it would be better than before in the live stream but you outdid yourselves! Thanks for doing what you do Tetrimino. :)
mulvi747 Thanks!! And glad to hear you made it to our live stream :D
At first when I saw the video, I was thinking, what's happening with the camera? And then it came to me, yes, a concept.....
CAMERA ANGLES!!
Good work as always, all of you really went "into the thick of it" with this song |:3
spidermichael2009 aw yeaaaaah those camera angles really added a lot! Especially when edited by Maestro Marc Papeghin
2:00 has my heart pumping! The synergy between you guys is real!
Michaela Nachtigall - Violin ==> The melody
Kristopher Salada - Keyboard ==> The harmony
Matt Mukerjee - Bass ==> The bass
Mitchell Cairns - Drums ==> The rythm
Well, that was glorious. Yet another epic remix by Tetrimino; nice to see you guys still at it. I didn't think violin riffs were a thing until 2:00, and then my mind was blown. And that piano solo, man! you guys are something else.
HPetch Thanks a lot!! mklachu got a lot more action this time around, especially in sections where she's playing background parts-- and that solo, jeezzzzz!!
I love it. Killed it!! Great job!
C Pacis Thanks!!
Woah!!! Incredible! Great arranging and playing! You all work so well together. Soooo tight! Your videos keep getting better and better somehow!!!

Youuuu guys are the best. Amazing. Every time.
Holy shiiiiiit.
Sounds amazing, I love the mix. Moar videos, pleez. ^-^
MrDrewseph Thanks!! We'll try to get more content out consistently but we tend to work pretty slowly. We certainly want to put videos out all the time ;)
Hey man, music this good requires time. I get that. ^-^ Worth the wait.
The best game with the best music!
Great job as always guys, enjoying the direction you took the song.
Dave Harris Thanks Dave!! When I was looking into possible directions for the song I actually ran across a 6 year old transcription video of yours-- "Electric Talk" from SD3. So it's good to kind of have things go 'full circle' in a way :3
Guys could you pleses to the title theme song for Fire Emblem Awakening
You guys ROCK!!! InstaSCRIBE! _\m/
You guys just blew your past selves out of the water, this is seriously the best so far! Completely blown away, and starting at 2:30...wow, just wow :)
69guitarchick Thanks!!
Great work guys! Awesome arrangement and editing! :D
Kay the pianist Thanks!!
The new video editing is INSANE
happyricepaddle Marc Papeghin really brought his A game (as he always does)!!
Holy awesome, this old school game music fan got mega chills.
Can you do an arrangement from final fantasy viii or xii, or a fairy tail arrangement?
Damn this one is deliciously swaggy
Can I make a small request? I'll even donate to see it played..
all of the instrumentalists are killin' it. The violin is especially great, but all of you did fantastic. The bass is rockin' hard too. Please please please do more from Hiroki Kikuta! Maybe consider doing "Nuclear Fusion," "Meridian Child," or a massive three-part "Sacrifice" from Seiken Densetsu 3!!
Patrick Gann Thanks!! We'll definitely check those tracks out! I've played SD3 before, but I don't remember the music nearly as well as the tracks in SD2.
My childhood...I can't stop crying...T_T So good, please do more like this!
my god...this was amazing
Great cover, all of you are amazing
HollowRiku - Moisés Nieto Thanks Moises!!!

I love the sound of a funky bass.
Nice camera angles!

Call me crazy, I'm a huge SNES fan but never been a huge fan of this game, HOWEVER!!! I do love this song from the game and this performance of it is FANTASTIC. I like it a lot. Great job all of you!
SuperTeeter64 Thanks!! Yeah I also found SoM a bit hit-or-miss, but really liked the music!
HatTrax Glad I'm not the only one. :'D
2:16 BASS HYPE
jamminkeys YEAAAAAAAAaaaaaah. I'm going to do a bass-focused video later this week (just a single video shot of the bass part with the bass volume raised). Check it out!
OMG YAAAAAS
8BitBrigadier YAAAY!

I had not watched this one yet, BIG MISTAKE ! Fantastic arrangement and performance. I really enjoyed the build-up leading to the energy spike at 2:18 :3

Man, I missed the live stream due to surgery, but to see you put this out about a week later is so rad. Another superb arrangement by Tetrimino.
HailKingTricky Thanks!! there will be future livestreams as well :D
Phew!...You guys really went the extra mile with this; Amazing rendition!
You know, I just listened to King Crimson's "Eyes Wide Open"... this was absolutely fantastic, and I'll use it as the perfect bridge to listen to Jean-Luc Ponty's "Enigmatic Ocean Part 2". Try it yourselves ;)
This is music to my ears. LITERALLY! It's awesome! Keep up the great music.
Rad baselines.
Kinda sounds like if Dream Theater/Jethrol Tull did this song.
Believe it or not but i has become addictive.....thank you very much.from Algeria
I remember when this came out, the production jump really blew me away combined with the amazing arrangement and performance. This is such a landmark Tetrimino piece
You guys are amazing :D Really admire your motivation to do such awesome collaborations from different places!
2:00 This definitely transitions into "Did You See the Ocean?", which is thematically related to "Into the Thick of It".
2:30 This section is sublime!
Backyardigans brought me here xD
Found you guys on OCRemix... thanks for this awesomeness! \
Where have you been all my life!?! These songs.....right in the childhood!
This is so well done, and should have so many more views. I promote this videos as much as I can, your attention to detail is incredible and an inspiration.
You guys should do One Winged Angel from Final Fantasy VII.
You guys should do One Winged Angel from Final Fantasy VII.
You people are fucking awesome, hey for real, subscribed.
You guys should do One Winged Angel from Final Fantasy VII
I still haven't gotten over the fact that you stopped playing together... snif
This is so beautiful, powerful amazing...
no song these guys can't make better with their awesome playing!
Studying for 10 hours a day is becoming a little more bearable thanks to you all. ;)
Secret of Mana is one of favorite games of all time, in no small part because of its music. Thanks for this. I may have to go dig my SNES out of storage after listening to this...
Sounds ace guys! Great job :D
Wow, totally blown away by this. Great performances by all.
I used this for my video :) Great job!
I am blown away! I like the bass in the progressive rock segment, it reminds me a little of the band Riverside.
Really cool version and great musicianship
Onward and upward y'all. Bless.
I love this game, jazz and rock, and all together, this is way too coool!
I feel like this song shouldn't have drums in it. Unless it's the "have you seen the ocean" remix of it.
Holy shit, I still remembered that thing is a rabite and I haven't done anything SoM-related in so many years.
This is how VGM should be re-arranged!
My question is... how do you play this without crying?
