I really like Tiz's theme, there's just something about it.. Like it has a certain determination to it, possibly because of how willing he is to rush to Agnes's aid?
IDK why Tetrimino isn't making videos anymore, but you are one of my favorite groups of all time and always will be, I'm damn near sure. Thank you for these.
Javier Fernández Valls I agree! Bravely Default is such a great game. I remember spending an entire morning at Starbucks training my characters to Level 99 and mastering all their Jobs. Glad you enjoyed our cover!
Ben Butler I would also day the near to final chapters too because of when the bosses start to team up with interesting dialogue. The very middle is a bit of a chore but I can't wait for Bravely Second.
Wow, incredible medley! O__O I was in awe while watching the amazing Edea version, and then you started with Ringablel and I realized it was a medley, damn it's so well done! Excellent job all of you!
By far my favorite of all your covers - I mean, it had to be, considering it's a medley of _Bravely Default_ covers. Really love the progression of the medley, *especially* on that "Windward" to "You Are My Hope" transition ; gets me everytime. I will *not* accept this video until you all dress up, though. Everyone in Wakoku Warrior and Bravo Bikini costumes!
As a guy who's just finished Bravely Default I must give props to these people. These themes are very common in-game and therefore pretty catchy! I was humming the whole time I was watching this and the instrument arrangement is spot on. I can't thank these people enough. Thanks a lot! Also, BRAVELY SECOND FTW
I know this is heading into the 2 year mark but this is by far one of my favorite games ever. Amazing story and characters and the music is just epic, thank you guys for this beautiful cover! I've always loved Edeas theme and y'all killed it especially the violinist! Wow! Glad I found you guys!
+Felipe Gamboa What's most unfortunate about Bravely Second is that Revo didn't do the OST. Which wouldn't be so bad if either... A.) They had chosen someone who could mimic his style well. OR B.) They didn't use any music from the first one, having an all original score. I mean, I'd rather... C.) They waited for him to be available... But I understand why they might not have wanted to. As it stands though, the OST has not only a distinct sound from game to game, but moment to moment in the second game. Which is just bad. Especially a fantasy RPG like these games where story plays a major role and music in general plays a major role as part of the story. Totally breaks the story immersion to have the soundtrack backing it to totally switch style gears back and forth.
+Tessa Bain You are making some good points but I still feel that the Bravely Second soundtrack serves the game well even if it's not on par with Revo's effort. I am also glad there are recurring themes from the first game as they induce the feelings of nostalgia. It is also not overdone so you don't really feel the inconsistency between the different themes in the game. But that's just me, I see how you might perceive it differently. I am also not sure that Revo would be able to repeat the same kind of level of quality if he was hired to do the Bravely Second soundtrack. The second game is near perfect and it rectifies certain things the first game did wrong. On the other hand, it feels easier due to jobs having certain overpowering features that can easily get you through what were supposed to be tough boss fights without a scratch.
+SilverProductions Not likely, though I didn't myself. I already knew everything in terms of there being two endings. Did the other purposely to get it out of the way. That way I was able to play the proper ending as the finale to me playing the game.
I did the true end because I wasn't sure which to do first and was worried the other was the true end...And I didn't realize there was an extra dungeon on the final loop either, so restarting the story was a bad call there...But extra limited items was nice.
Revo only composed the openings for AoT. Then Linked Horizon played it. The genius composer for the AoT OST is Hiroyuki Sawano. Revo and Linked Horizon did all of the music for Bravely Default, though, and it's godly.
This is so great! I listened to this medley for the first time many months ago, but I didn't finish Bravely Default until yesterday so I didn't feel like I had the right to comment this video. But now, I can say I discovered 2 great things for sure thanks to this video: the great JRPG Bravely Default, with awesome characters and one of the most beautiful OSTs I've ever listened, and, obviously, you and the rest of your covers! I really admire you guys, keep up the good work!
I'm striving to be as good as Matt at the bass, but damn is that a hard thing to do! I love you all, you guys all play so well. Mitchell keeping those beats steady, Kris providing that beautiful harmony, Matt laying down those groovy lines, and Michaela playing the violin as it should be played. I'm glad you guys are playing music for the world to see!
I actually figured out who the enemy was from the last page of D's journal, sorta. My friend told me I was right when I guessed who it was. I would not have been certain until the end otherwise. I know my RPGs well. I know even the trickiest of plots can be understood! It may be confusing and filled with twists, but with context and a few hints, anyone can solve mysteries! Either that or I have no life so I can figure out things like this. I guess the latter, as I understand Kingdom Hearts as good as those who actually have researched it. I can't EXPLAIN it to others, but I do know it, as it is easier to understand it than to teach it. Like the formula I made for square roots of whole numbers between the the square root of 4 and 225 (2 and 15 squared) with the number only being off by around .2 which means it is surprisingly accurate.
Duuuuuuudes, THANK YOU for making this! I'm just going to listen to this rather than original because a) I prefer this instrumentation- the four of you together are so special and it shows in every video and I always have the pleasure of watching, b) your interpretations and transitions are always so fresh, c) srsly Mkla like I look up to you as a violinist and this is why- you own everything you touch and your sound is always so clean it pushed me to do my best on violin without lessons or music school anymore. THANK YOU.
So good! Only beat this game a month ago and now I'm discovering the treasure trove of covers and remixes it has. Your medley is easily among the best!
So Shulk plays Bravely Default. I guess creating Nintendo and SquareEnix was pretty high on the list of things to do after slaying a god, taking his power, and creating a new world with it.
This is so epic! I've never played the game, yet I can still appreciate the musical genius. Epic work on the bass again, Matt. :D Hope to see you maybe cover some iconic Super Smash Bros. music soon, in commemoration of the sequels. ;) And Michaela, your violin was so epic in this! :D Those flourishes. ZAAYM
MrBlazingCrafter Of course! Kris always keeping a solid melody throughout. What I find ironic is that I praised the two instruments that I don't actually play. xD
As always, an awesome cover from Tetrimino! Glad to see that Bravely Default is helping Revo being more popular among the western audience, and glad to see there is competents musicians ready to cover his work!
to all the bravely default fans out there who didn't watch the Nintendo direct. (the sequel bravely second: end layer) is coming out April 14. and a demo is comin on spring break!!!!! (for the US)
Awesome cover! I like how the violin has the melody for the majority of the medley, because it's beautiful. Especially it in its lower register in Agnès's theme.
The thing I regret is not discovering this sooner. I was a huge fan of the Kingdom Hearts Groove and now I'm a huge fan of this. The instant I recognized Baby Bird I made a noise similar to that of a deflating balloon. Jesus take the wheel, I can't handle this medley. Any chance of a cover of That Person's Name Is?
hmm I wouldn't say forgettable, just too complex to get stuck in one's head. The OST for Second is amazing and I love it, but the melodies are too complex for me to remember
I just liked the first games melodies better. The second had moments of the songs I liked for the melodies, but none of them really stuck out much to me.
***** I also prefer Default over Second in general, but I must say that Second's battle themes are awesome (the special themes are okay, not the best but oh well). The battle themes fit Second's story way more than Default's themes. Especially the Asterisk theme. That Person's Name Is worked with default because each Asterisk holder had a large roll in society some way. However, the asterisk holders in Second didn't have those societal roles, but rather had very elaborate backstories, making their battles more dramatic and personal. Default was all about fighting for what you believe in, Second was about the past and how some people can't get over it.
Apart from the well deserved praise already present in other comments, I'd like to commend the violinist on emulating the sound of the sax in Baby Bird incredibly well! Also I love how you went vi-IV instead of vi-ii at the start of Windward (3:43) and the general feel of that section, as well as the slap bass in You Are My Hope!
Oh wow you guys are really good! You did this track so much justice. I didn't know about you until I heard you were gonna be working on part of the TOME season 2 soundtrack, and I gotta say, REALLY looking forward to those jams!
Yessss so glad to see some Bravely Default music from you guys :3 This is, hands down, one of the best soundtracks I have heard recently and all you guys completely nailed it with the instrumentation!!
I've never played this game and I had no idea it's soundtrack was this good. Flawless medley!! Each instrument has such an essential role, I love it. I'm a sucker for bass lines. So if you're reading this Matt, I respect you greatly. :) Mitch did a fricken beautiful job on the mixing and super tasty drum chops. Kristopher, you deserve a lot more recognition, you're amazing. Michaela.. why you so good O_o.
Damn, I remember last year when you guys uploaded this, I didn't even glance at it. I took one look at that picture in the center of the video and was like "what is this final fantasy anime shit doing here?" "Well, I guess I'll skip this one". Fast forward to now and this "final fantasy anime shit" is my favorite game, and these are some of my favorite songs from it. Excellent work guys.
Aw, man. You keep churning out these really rock-solid covers. I don't really know the originals (haven't played BD yet) but purely as music, this is excellent.
I suddenly feel like I have all sorts of buffs now.
😆
I really like Tiz's theme, there's just something about it.. Like it has a certain determination to it, possibly because of how willing he is to rush to Agnes's aid?
(3 years later, sorry) maybe because his theme it's called "You are my hope", for me, the most memorable line of Tiz to Agnés
IDK why Tetrimino isn't making videos anymore, but you are one of my favorite groups of all time and always will be, I'm damn near sure. Thank you for these.
ahhh Ringabel's theme was an absolute pleasure to listen to
Bravely Default deserves more love than it gets. Its a almost-perfect game. Thank you for this!
Javier Fernández Valls I agree! Bravely Default is such a great game. I remember spending an entire morning at Starbucks training my characters to Level 99 and mastering all their Jobs. Glad you enjoyed our cover!
It got a sufficient amount of attention. There are many other games that received far less attention than Bravely Default got.
Bravely Default is perfect for the first four chapters and the end of chapter 8.
Ben Butler I would also day the near to final chapters too because of when the bosses start to team up with interesting dialogue. The very middle is a bit of a chore but I can't wait for Bravely Second.
my whole town/city was out of stock of it for almost a month the game was so popular, idk what your talking about needing more love
when Tiz kicks in, I get chills. That violin is boss
I’m Japanese and Revo’s fan. How well they play! I love this song too.
im not japanese but i am a revo fan!
By the time you got to Tiz's theme you honestly had me in tears. That was truly beautiful.
Wow, incredible medley! O__O I was in awe while watching the amazing Edea version, and then you started with Ringablel and I realized it was a medley, damn it's so well done! Excellent job all of you!
HollowRiku - Moisés Nieto Ringablel, huehuehue~
Just kidding! ;)
2019 and Still Loving this
Same, can't wait for Braverly defualt 2.
Man its been 3 years since i first played bravely default. I was still in highschool then. This brings back memories like you would'nt beleieve!

Shit now I want to watch you play bravely default

This is STILL my absolute favorite Tetrimino video!!! IT'S SO BEAUTIFUL

was I the only person who did the true end first without realizing it.
+SilverProductions Not likely, though I didn't myself. I already knew everything in terms of there being two endings. Did the other purposely to get it out of the way. That way I was able to play the proper ending as the finale to me playing the game.

Could you guys PLEASE cover "That Person's Name Is" from Bravely Default too? It's the boss theme and I would just love it if you covered it! :D
Would like that very much too
YES PLEASE!
Thank you guys so much for this wonderful piece of art!

Thanks for the kind words! It really means a lot. Keep practicing bass and I'm sure you'll surpass me!
This is unacceptable....
Unacceptably amazing.
for some reason, Edea's theme always brings tears to my eyes, and nostalgia to my mind.
5:00 That transition from windward to you're my hope gives me boosebumps over and over again. Beautiful.
Great job people! BD is great, I'm sad it didn't get more press. Probably the best JRPG of the 2010s, in my opinion

I was amazed all the way through, and then Tiz's theme started and I became captivated.
Holy shit. Well done.
Thick juicy melodic, best solo from Mkla yet. These mashups and medleys are definitely perfect for you guys.
Swiggles1987 Oh ya, dat violin, unf~
This video makes me wish there was a love button instead of a like button.
And that it could be multi-tapped.
Hot DAMN, I didn't expect this to be *this* good. Well done!
Absolutely gorgeous! Made me fall in love with the sound track all over again~ thanks!
Wow, just wow. This is perfect, the best cover by far of this songs.
This rendition gives the song a very Mario Galaxy feel to it, which I love. Symphonic, light-hearted and adventurous. A+ :)
Shivers and emotions. Perfect. 😍
the transition into Agnes' theme at 3:26 is so flawless my heart stopped
it's amazing how every instrument in this medley have his own impact
I feel like it's time to pick up this game again. You guys are awesome
I love how seamless you made the transitions, it was one continuous song, not for different ones in sequence. Amazing!

Superb! :D Love Bravely Default, love the character themes, and love your medley of them :D
I love these themes so much, but I love them even more when you guys play them. Thanks for doing such an awesome job and sharing with us :)
I love the Tiz theme. It really resonated with the character, cheerful pain.

question: Are you Shulk?
So Shulk plays Bravely Default.
I guess creating Nintendo and SquareEnix was pretty high on the list of things to do after slaying a god, taking his power, and creating a new world with it.

I forgot how many violin songs this game had 💙
So great
Never in my life would I have thought some one would do this song. Very well done guys I cant imagine the work it took to get this all together.
This is great! Maybe the bravely second characters please? Sure, it only released in the west a few weeks ago, but maybe?
I doubt they could commit them to memory. They're just too forgetable. Just like BS's OST as a whole sadly.
+Monado Guy I can barely remember them and I'm still playing it
hmm I wouldn't say forgettable, just too complex to get stuck in one's head. The OST for Second is amazing and I love it, but the melodies are too complex for me to remember
