Aight so quick interpretation. As a continuation of identity this is his journey after dropping out of school. Hence the burning bus. The desert symbolizes the hardships he faced trying to find a way to fully realize his identity. The oasis and X are the pull for him to give up and return to the 9 to 5 life. This has to be, imo, one of my favorite songs from DOAO, I mean all the other songs are great but this one has good lyrics, a good chorus, a sick beat, and an amazing guitar riff that gives off that indie rock vibe that made me fall in love with grandson's music and him as an artist in the first place
Im suffering from drug addiction, this song was relatable for me when it released and it still is. I hope there will be a day when i cant relate to it anymore but it gets worse every day, tbh im only still here because i dont want to make my family sad.
First of all, I really need to congratulate this masterpiece, the music is amazing, I literally have no words to describe how it makes me feel and the new thoughts it has awoken in my mind. Next, I loved the production behind the videos, I could watch them over and over again, and never get tired of it, not only because of the visualization itself, but because of the story. The little hidden messages... there are some stuff that I'm still thinking about but I love the way grandson has chosen to represent all of what he thinks, I almost can`t believe there aren`t millions and millions of people talking about this. I hope he knows that all of what he's doing is excellent, and that there are many of us who can`t wait for more.
This song reminds me a lot about the things I struggle with especially the lyrics *"Caught up in the riptide. For too long cuz it’s all I know."* I have depression and this reminded me of when I first started out asking for help. I felt so conflicted because I wanted to get help from the feeling of suffocation I feel day by day but I also felt like once I get help I wouldn't be myself anymore cause it felt like as if depression was what made me 'me'. I've been living with my feelings for so long that it just became what I identified myself with and without it I was so worried over who I would be and how my world would change. The first many times I had to take my anti-depressants, each pill felt like they weighed a ton and I always pretended to take them since I started to get anxiety cause I was scared to feel better and to be 'happy'.

Aight so quick interpretation. As a continuation of identity this is his journey after dropping out of school. Hence the burning bus. The desert symbolizes the hardships he faced trying to find a way to fully realize his identity. The oasis and X are the pull for him to give up and return to the 9 to 5 life. The people in white are the people taking the offer. You can have the water, but you have to give up your life and individuality. Some thoughts I just had on it. A lot of what I’ve learned in literature is that the “obvious” or straightforward message is not usually the true meaning, here, baptism IS a symbol but the song isn’t saying Christianity is bad, it’s tying in Christianity being popular and also the concept of “being made new” into Grandson dropping out and choosing not to be “baptized” or conform

Been here since the start and am loving the creativity Jordan puts into his work honestly he put so much passion into each and every one of his songs
First of all, I really need to congratulate this masterpiece, the music is amazing, I literally have no words to describe how it makes me feel and the new thoughts it has awoken in my mind.
Next, I loved the production behind the videos, I could watch them over and over again, and never get tired of it, not only because of the visualization itself, but because of the story. The little hidden messages... there are some stuff that I'm still thinking about but I love the way grandson has chosen to represent all of what he thinks, I almost can`t believe there aren`t millions and millions of people talking about this. I hope he knows that all of what he's doing is excellent, and that there are many of us who can`t wait for more.

This song reminds me a lot about the things I struggle with especially the lyrics *"Caught up in the riptide. For too long cuz it’s all I know."* I have depression and this reminded me of when I first started out asking for help. I felt so conflicted because I wanted to get help from the feeling of suffocation I feel day by day but I also felt like once I get help I wouldn't be myself anymore cause it felt like as if depression was what made me 'me'. I've been living with my feelings for so long that it just became what I identified myself with and without it I was so worried over who I would be and how my world would change. The first many times I had to take my anti-depressants, each pill felt like they weighed a ton and I always pretended to take them since I started to get anxiety cause I was scared to feel better and to be 'happy'.
