Crit Role live. Everybody whispering alongside Laudna to fuck around with people she messages. The Hells Bells enter a tavern for the night, Matt narrates: "As you enter the tavern, you sit down for a much needed rest, grab your food and drinks and relax by the firelight, FCG eating his copper coins as per usual. Sam:I am grabbing a handful from my pouch like a bag of Doritos *audience laughs* Matt:"As you finally start getting comfortable in this rare downtime you hear this sound... It's calm.... I found this song three weeks ago on 1-22-24 and I keep coming back to it. Your voice reminds of Owl City in the best way possible - warm, sweet, and playful, with just a hint of wistfulness.
Four months later and I’m still crying over how Dorian left the Bells hells. I really do hope that will be able to see him again soon. I love our little blue bard
My prediction: that Hells Bells will walk into a tavern in a far away land and then Matt will cue this audio on the speakers. And Dorian will join us once again. Open the floodgates of tears haha Great song by the way Robbie!
Alright, this song has been out for a couple days now, and it currently won’t leave my head. Robbie is insanely talented and I loved him at the table. Dorian is one of my favorites from Campaign 3 thus far and I’ve loved seeing Dorian’s story unfold and seeing Robbie grow as a player. Leave it to Robbie, in his brilliant portrayal of Dorian, to write a little song about a character we knew for 3 episodes and make everyone feel something. I just love the line “When the tavern fire’s roaring and the music starts to swell, that’s Bertrand Bell.” Because Bertrand always seemed to relish and wanted to take credit for the good and exciting moments. When the group was around a cozy fire or another place of respite and swapping stories, there’s Bertrand taking credit for assembling the group. When the battle got intense and was coming to a crescendo and the battle music began to swell, then battle was won, there was Bertrand taking credit for the felled enemy even if he barely (at all??) did anything. As the song says: that’s Bertrand Bell, with a tale to tell. Taking credit for the moment, not in a way that was nefarious or even cocky, but in a way that you could tell he just relished being a part of something exciting. In a way that was ultimately endearing. I don’t know. I’ll bet Robbie didn’t put THAT much analysis into it when he wrote the song. But it just works on so many levels for me. It suits Dorian AND Bertrand so well.
I know who this song is for... But, crying as i write this, I find it uplifts my very soul. Im just now starting to get my life on track with a little help from God and My Friends and... Just thank you Robbie. This has been my battle cry this week
Imagine in 50 episodes, bells hells go into a tavern, and you start hearing a guitar of screen and robbie comes in singing this one as he rejoins their adventures
More than a year later and I’m still missing Dorian/Robbie! One of the best characters brought to life by a genuine person. It would have been interesting to see him with Group A, especially interacting with FCG and FRIDA.
I was not prepared for not only the amazing singing voice, but the lyrical skill as well? This is such a well-written and cleverly versed song! Pre-Chorus: F G (x4)
Chorus: C Am (x4) | G F C
Repeat for Verse 2, Pre-C, and C.
Ending: F G C
Just note when the chords change and play around with the chords and strumming pattern to match Robbie's playing.
I remember you saying during your recent signing stream that this song was never meant to come out in public.
I'm glad you changed your mind. I'm still listening to it in repeat and it's just absolutely wonderful.
(Also thank you Liam O'Brien for convincing Robbie to share this song to everyone)
SPOILERS BELLOW
When Dorian was singing to the soldiers in ep 110, I played this quietly in the background during stream because this is what I pictured him singing.
Crit Role live. Everybody whispering alongside Laudna to fuck around with people she messages. The Hells Bells enter a tavern for the night, Matt narrates:
"As you enter the tavern, you sit down for a much needed rest, grab your food and drinks and relax by the firelight, FCG eating his copper coins as per usual.
Sam:I am grabbing a handful from my pouch like a bag of Doritos
*audience laughs*
Matt:"As you finally start getting comfortable in this rare downtime you hear this sound... It's calm.... But enticing... It's a lute. Could you roll perception for me?
*Rolls, numbers are called*
So Orym, Fearne, you two notice the music is accompanied by singing. A comforting.....familiar voice... You turn around.

Robbie would you please join the table?"
This needs to happen!also you captured the cast perfectly
Spot on!
Tears. I am in tears I can just imagine Dorian playing the song while on that airship going back to the exu crew
Robbie/Dorian rolled a freaking NAT 20 for performance!!! Awesome work!
Twice! ))
The fact that Bells Hells inherited a skyship makes this even better.
anyone coming in from 2023 thinking Robbie should sing an upbeat song in character in Chai- that would absolutely make my day!
No wonder Matt calls you an overachiever. You're a DM's dream to have on the table. Thank you for the moments of chaos and amazing roleplay, Robbie.
Now excuse me while I wipe my tears away.
This was the song I imagined Dorian singing when he said goodbye to Bells Hells.
I thought this was a song made by a fan until halfway through I realized the singer sounded pretty close to Dorian and then I realized its because it freaking is him.
Lulled my son to sleep. He immediately loves the “Bell Song”. Thanks for sharing your time and heart with us, Robbie. ❤️
If your goal was to make me cry, you succeeded. But if it was also to make me feel so happy it also worked.
I'm sobbing, Robbie is a TREASURE. I really want Dorian to return
Well, here we are again. Robbie, once again, making us cry. Thank you for this, Robbie.
“The chances that you take today are fortunes to be made.”
Beautiful Robbie…❤️
The surprise I had when clicking on this video to find out Robbie had made it and my first thought was "Damn this person has a great Dorian voice, OH WAIT" that was great
Wow, really nice job with this song and tribute to Bertrand, Robbie! You might actually make Travis (and the rest of the group!) tear up a bit at this!
And maybe Matt can add this to the background music to play in taverns from time to time? 🙂
Travis is a big mushpot, he'll cry.
Does anybody else really really hope that Bertrand was actually proud of his life??
Look back on all he did, I think there was alot.
He became rich
He fell in love
He joined Vox Machina on some of their most perilous journeys to save them
And founded one of the greatest adventuring parties to grace Exandria.
In the end, he died with a smile on his face, looking back on the memories of a long life well lived.
@Simon William Noel Murray I just hope the dude was happy 😊
I always got the vibe that his smile wasn't as big on the inside, y'know?
He was a joke character that Travis throw together just for a laugh WHY AM I CRYING OVER HIM!?!?!?! damn it daymond.
Same reason as Scanlan - both were made into very real people by the actors who played them. They started off as nothing but a joke, and became very real people by the end.
"Unofficial?" My man, us Critters *WILL MAKE IT OFFICIAL.*
devastated that dorian's not in the party anymore, he's my favourite character :'( i joined late and am binge watching the episodes atm, and i just got to when he leaves. so sad about it but was a beautiful "see you later" moment. i can't wait for you to come back
I found this song three weeks ago on 1-22-24 and I keep coming back to it. Your voice reminds of Owl City in the best way possible - warm, sweet, and playful, with just a hint of wistfulness.
Never missed a guest like I have Robbie… can’t wait for him to bring Dorian back to the table some day.
Headcanoning that the “bum bum bum” in the background is Cyrus 😭❤️
Four months later and I’m still crying over how Dorian left the Bells hells. I really do hope that will be able to see him again soon. I love our little blue bard
Thank you for being in our big family Robbie, we hope to see you again in these adventures. Much love ❤😍❤
Still come back to this. Thank you so much for this beautiful song Robbie! It's so beautifully haunting yet comforting and hopeful at the same time.
Why is somebody cutting onions near me while listening to this amazing song?!?
I always felt that Bertrand didn't get the send off he deserved. I love this so much, and it made me happy and sad in a way I wasn't expecting.
My prediction: that Hells Bells will walk into a tavern in a far away land and then Matt will cue this audio on the speakers. And Dorian will join us once again. Open the floodgates of tears haha
Great song by the way Robbie!
I hope the CR crew listens to this during the next episode! So beautiful.
Do you want to flood the world with tears? Because thats how you flood the world with tears
Just used this to lull my son to sleep. It was worth it.
I miss Dorian so much to the point that I will cry the next time Dorian is featured in the main campaign again😭
Did you cry like I did?!??
Imagine in 50 episodes, bells hells go into a tavern, and you start hearing a guitar of screen and robbie comes in singing this one as he rejoins their adventures
I mean…. This sorta happened???
One of my kinds headcannons is that if Dorian is still alive by the time C3 ends he'll write a song about Bells Hells
The flow always feels natural from one line to the next, and the delivery is seamless. I'll be listening this for a long while, I just know it. Thank you Robbie, for gracing the stage at CR with your presence and all of us with this parting gift.
IKR? Like, we rarely heard Robbie sing at the table. But hearing him in this is incredible!!!
@@grey8288 I dunno, that improvised "Dave Matthews" advertainment was pretty fire....
Just discovered this today and have already lost count of how many times I've replayed it. I'm a new Critter and am still catching up.
Ok... this put my 6 week old baby girl right to sleep and I love that.
How did I only find this now??? Actually crying rn
Robbie please come back sometime!
So good to have our blue boy back in the game
I got so excited when a friend sent me this. I didn't see your name at first so i was like "Oh man, they even sound like Robbie this is. . . IT IS ROBBIE!"
This is amazing
Listening to this every day just because it slaps.
...im just crying.. Mr bell finally got his song...
I cried at this song. About a silly old man. But his story is actually beautiful in many ways.
Oh my god he actually made a song for him. Yes I live for it
I love how if Grog hadn't grabbed one last card from the Deck of Many Things at the end of Campaign 1, we all never would have been given this beautiful song. Thanks Robbie, really glad you were part of the main campaign for 14 episodes, though like many others I wished it were more.
I miss Dorian so much, and he's barely gone. Campaign 3 is a little darker without his presence.
God knows how many months later, I still cry every time I hear this little song. What a gift this is to all of us. Thank you, Robbie, for sharing your talent with all of us!
I'm a little late to the party here, but I can just see Travis sitting in a dark corner of his house bawling his eyes out as he listens to this amazing song. Well done Robbie, well done indeed.
MY DUMBASS JUST REALIZED WHAT CHANNEL I WAS ON . ROBBIE MADE THIS ?!? I SOMEHOW LOVE THIS EVEN MORE !
Oh great I miss Dorian even more now.
I hope you accept responsibility that I now have a wholesome blue man living in my head rent free
