Ulquiora, as a Hollow, has an innate advantage against Quincy. It seems like people are sleeping on him. I was there weekly, and it was glorious. I think his Nihilism wins against fear.
Unless that Quincy is a hybrid like Ichigo or Yhwach.
You forget that Quincy have the exact same advantage over Hollows

I think Ulquiorra wins as well, Lanza de repalgo alone would nuke as nodt out of existence and he can conjure them up one after another. I think segunda etapa makes the difference.

My thoughts exactly, ulquiorra has no real fear, he's empty in the literal sense, he seeks to understand human emotion, because he lacks it.
As nodt casts his gaze, ulquiorra just stares back.

Even if ''fear'' takes place, as nodt took so long to implement it on rukia ulquiorra has enough time to visit aizen in his chair, get a grip of a new plan and kill a as nodt a few times before he even realizes what happened lmao

Shocked at power isn’t the same as fear. He is despair. The complete absence of hope is the dictionary definition of despair. Not sure fear even exists there. He wasn’t afraid when ichigo was gonna incinerate him at point blank range

Tbh the biggest thing I would argue is that the fear wouldn't be able to work on Ulquiorra, but not because of him potentially not being able to feel fear. If a hollowfied bankai ichigo could barely cut Ulquiorra's skin in base, then I don't think one of As Nodt's Thorns could peirce Ulquiorras skin. And even with a full power hollowfied getsuga, Ulquiorra didn't even have to block the attack in his first resurrection state. He protected himself with just spiritual pressure, Aizen has stated that you can nullify another spiritual pressure with your own. So in theory, at least in Segunda Etapa, Ulquiorra should be able to counter it simply because of how much stronger Ulquiorra is compared to Ichigo, who at the time was about as strong or stronger than Byakuya.
@Shaboingedy As Nodts thorns dont need to pierce his opponents skin to affect them. They just need to make contact with their skin. Im not arguing in favor of As Nodt, just stating that his fear toxin or whatever it is will circulate through Ulquiorra and STILL not affect Ulquiorra.
it doesnt matter if he can feel fear...as' fear doesnt have reason, its primordial, you cant control it it doesnt matter how tough you are.. even zaraki or unohana would be paralyzed by that fear

Ulquiorra was fighting that hollow formed Ichigo. It makes sense for him to look scared in one or two panels.
The Quincy dude Äs Nödt has no chance at all trying to scare Ulquiorra. That form of Ichigo is like looking straight into the deaths of hell. If he can handle that ( and he did ) then he can handle some unpured blooded Quincy.
Let's not forget that Ulquiorra's ranking as nmr 4 is a joke by Kubo.
Äs Nödt can't handle the very top Espada obviously.
I believe Ulquiorra was added to fight Ichigo to burn Ichigo's Hollow form because once Ichigo uses such a power-up by Shonen anime rules, he needs another power-up against Aizen.
So think about this Ulquiorra is so strong it takes Hollow Ichigo to defeat him but even that would not be enough to make Aizen sweet. Yeah, the Quincies stand no chance against the Espada they are pretty much helpless against any Bankai while the Espada could casually fight multiple captions simultaneously.

The quincies are generally above most of the espada. Half the time the quincy are only losing because they're fighting people that got massive boosts from training in the soul palace. They're not bankai fodder, lol
@@whateveriwant6985 I think the point is that they aren't that far ahead of the Espada in terms of power, if they thought that stealing bankai would give them a significant enough of an advantage to go through the effort of doing it. I think Sternritter are more powerful on average. But the top 4 Espada should be above non-elite guard Quincy.
@@serendipitouscomet im sure if the espada had found a way to steal bankai they'd do it too, it's not really an indication of power. Even szayelapporo sealed renji's bankai despite the fact he could probably solo it in base. Though i agree the top 4 might be above average sternritter level, but not all of them. Gremmy, quilge, bazz-b, and the ryod llyod twins come to mind off the top of my head that could prob beat hallibel and maybe barragan

Defeating Quincy’s is all about finding how to beat their ability mostly which makes them good against the balance shinigami but bad against espada which can endure fight on and are poisonous to the Quincy. That’s why yhwach dealt with harrible himself. He didn’t want to risk them being involved.
@@sirnonsense5033 honestly i think that's a fair take. Espada probably have the better physical stats, but i feel the quincy hax give them the edge. Especially given they fight shinigami that are stronger than their arrancar arc counter parts. And the hollow poisonous thing only really matters once a quincy is injured deeply by a hollow. If they get punched for example, they'll be fine. But if they get cut, then the poison can seep in

Ulquiorra is all about logic. When you're nihilistic, cold hard logic is all that remains.
When Ichigo fights in spite of logic, Ulquiorra becomes frustrated. When he defies logic as Vasto Lorde, Ulquiorra displays shock. I quite like the paradoxial existances the Arrancar become. Ulquiorra is supposed to be the embodiment of emptyness, yet he is capable of emotion and finds meaning through serving Aizen.
I think Ulquiorra CAN feel fear, but it will be delayed and even confuse him (like wirh Byakuya but dialed up to 11). I dont think he'll recognize at first why he's trembling, why his heart beats faster whenever he attacks or gets attacked, and why As Nodt feels more and more dangerous with every passing second. The key to his defeat or victory, I think, will be in how fast he recognizes the threat and takes As Nodt out. As Nodt CAN win, but my money is on Ulquiorra, and I don't think he'd need Segunda Etapa to do so.
@corruptangel6793 This is an interesting take. I thought if he could feel fear it would be a foreign feeling to him. Or maybe he might even laugh for the first time because of the absurdity of his situation? He could probably end up having another "this is the heart" moments after the battle and have some panic attack after killing As Nodt and say "this is fear??" Who knows.
even if ulquiorra dont feel any fear schrift would still work beacuse its primordial fear without any reason but ulquiorra has much more power

Actually, now that you mention it, that is a possible loophole. Ulquiorra has no fear of death. We saw this when Vasto Lorde Ichigo defeated him. He himself tells Ichigo to kill him, and he shows no trace of fear when disintegrating. At most, he shows minor annoyance at the fact that he dies just as he finally understands the heart. The question is, would he fear Aizen dying, as fear of another's death would also work, as it did for Rukia and Byakuya.

Even if we look at the fear would that even work against Ulquiorra who haven't shown fear ? Sure he was surprised because he saw something he wasn't expecting but that isn't fear ! Even death didn't scared him !

I like to think that if ulquiora got hit by fear he would start to see meaning in life kinda debunking his whole thought processes and start cracking down

Ulquiorra for sure. We see even with Äs Nödt's volstandich, its not complete fear like Aizen's bankai, complete Hypnosis. You fall under the effect of as nodt's fear if you look upon him, yes, but we see both byakuya and rukia both break from its control at the end.
Put someone as emotionless as Ulquiorra, as strong willed as they are, i dont think The Fear will affect him all that long. Just based on his willpower alone. Its hard to judge power scaling between ulquiorra and say byakuya after his time in the palace, but i still think ulquiorra has more than enough to take as nodt. Besides The Fear, we dont see very much in the way of devastating attacks, unlike ulquiorra's segunda etapa. The fear is as nodts strongest weapon he has.
The thing is with Segunda he wins outright because of stat difference and Hollows being Toxic to Quincy's helps him a lot. The real limiting factor is if we consider if Ulquiorra would be slow and get caught up in 'The Fear'
Ulquiorra is one of my fav characters his non chanlant attitude makes him so cool
enemies that come later in a series are always stronger. they usually have more hax and bigger feats. just how Shonen works.
Am i one of those few that believe the espada vs sternritter are closer than ppl make it seem to be. Like the espada didnt go stealing bankais in fact some actually wanted to see them. Unless we talking the elite quincies then i feel the espada can do a good bit of damage. Imagine if all the espada and gotei teamed up vs the quincy at the start. The quincy were too prepared for the gotei but thats war.
The Espada alone could've taken on the Quincy and likely would win, their spiritual pressure is poisonous to Quincy and weakens them.
The Quincy could not defeat the 13 squads without stealing their bankai.. the Espada had even greater spiritual pressure than the Captains(except for Yamamoto).
The average audience of Bleach appears to have the IQ of a child and downplays feats and narrative context simply because something happened in the past.
There is absolutely no way someone is going to convince me Ulquiorra in his second release doesn't outspeed/outpower everyone outside of Ywach.

Just because Ulquiorra has a segunda etapa doesn't mean he will always be forced to use it against everybody. I think this is a fight in which he wouldn't need it, only his regular resurrection would be enough.
Any Top 4 Espada could probably take out any Sternritter for the mere fact that Hollow's have a type advantage against Quincy... This is probably why Ywach himself was present during the invasion of Hueco Mundo.
It literally took Ywach to take down Harribel and she wasn't shown to be all that powerful amongst the Espada.
I think it’s just a fact the quincies would’ve stood no chance against aizens ranks as they would need enough power to deal with the current gotei as well. My stupid dumb fan theory is they waited to see WTH the aizen was doin.

I honestly disagree. The fear is instinctive and affects evryone that exists which is why rukia had to die to overcome it. Quincies like the sternritters can easily resist hollow powers like quilge absorbing ayon,liltoto in the novel eating rudborn's soldiers and other hollow attacks with just a slight stomach ache. People should stop with the hollow being poisonous to quincy stuff when it comes to the sternritters!
As nodt tanked all of tybw byakuya's senbonzakura with barely a scratch which should be greater than anything 1st resurrección ulquiorra is doing and also tanked absolute zero before activating volstandig>>>Lanza del relempargo. Was dodging all of byakuya's attack in shikai who at that point should be faster than ulquiorra. As nodt smokes him and pops his heart from fear!

Battle between shinigamis is battle between reiatsu. If Ulquiorras reiatsu is higher than As Nodts then his abilities wont have an effect. Remember when Ichigo couldnt cut kenpachi? Same thing.

Considering they also described his reiatsu as so dense it was almost not reiatsu anymore, that could also suggest he was borderline an ascended being with his power, which would be way above As Nodt if that was the case.

As Nodt would win. I think base As Nodt can take Ulquiorra in his first resurrection. Characters like Byakuya would have long surpassed Ulquiorra by the time of the fight invasion. Base Byakuya would be able to defeat base Ulquiorra. Shikai Byakuya with kido would be able to take first resurrection Ulquiorra at that time in the story (going off statements of how much stronger the captains have trained in order to take on Aizen level threats). Base As Nodt absolutely wrecked Shikai Byakuya in almost every category; strength, speed, hax and durability.
People should please stop saying "lanza del relampago would nuke anyone" lol no. People still don't understand how power works in bleach. Huge explosion DOES NOT equal power in bleach. For example: gran rey cero didn't even scratch hollowfied Ichigo.
Also, another wrong assumption is that hollow Reiatsu gives a huge advantage against Quincy. Again, no. Blut vene can still defend against hollow powers. As Nodt 's arrows are fast enough to hit a much stronger Byakuya than the Arrancar arc. Even if Ulquiorra uses segunda etapa, he'd still fall prey to the fear once again. It really doesn't matter.

Abilities wise, consider these two are the Antithesis to one another in terms of existence. Hollows are poison for Quincy but not like a SR would perish just being in the vincinity of one. On the other side of that coin, Quincy abilities obliterate the hollow soul with no chance for rebirth. In a sense, a hollow would not want to get entangled with a Quincy for that reason alone. Now we get to these two. Destructive power, Ulquiorra has showcased plenty that reasons him above As Nodt, but this fight wouldn't come down purely to destructive power alone. When the first invasion took place, most of the SR were regarded as above captain class. As Nodt was able to stop Byakuya in his tracks using the F and stealing his bankai was the icing on the cake. As Nodt also has blut vene and arterea. He has his normal Quincy abilities, his schrift and his holy form. It was also noted by Urahara that quincies CAN steal resurreccion, but don't because hollows are poison, so stands to reason their power would be as well. So consider this. Then there's sklaverei and rato... can't remember the exact spelling, but it allows them to keep fighting even when their limbs are rendered incapable. Ulquiorras most dangerous attribute this fight is really high speed regeneration.
That said, Ulquiorra is facing a captain class, or possibly stronger, fighter with a dangerous schrift and a host of powers that would be very bad if he's hit. Folks are saying hierro is in his favor, but again, a Quincy isn't using a blade, they're using controlled reishi around them to enhance abilities. There's nothing I've seen of Ulquiorra to suggest a strong helig pfil wouldn't obliterate his body if hit. So he'd have to evade any strikes from As Nodt, assuming he even can. Speed wise, we never see As Nodt blitz anyone, so we don't know how fast he is or can be, but we DO know Segundo Etapa was outpacing Ichcigo effortlessly before Ulquiorra kills him. But this version of Ichigo is remarkably weaker than him at the start of TYBW based on what KNOW from the story. So, it doesn't say much that Ulquiorra battered Ichigo with ease during FKT. I doubt that version of Ichigo even stands up to As Nodt in his strongest form (excluding when white awakens).
Ulquiorra from a distance can probably keep this fight in his favor, but helig pfil would be a strong enough contender considering it's a distance weapon any Quincy can rely on and they can rain thousands of them. If Ulquiorra gets in close I imagine the fight begins to change a bit. Overall, I have Ulquiorra taking this by a very small margin mainly because I don't see the F itself really working on him initially, but it's possible his volstandig makes that difference. Ulquiorra cannot freeze his body to prevent fear toxin generation nor will cutting his limbs off work. He'd be subjected to it no matter what and we don't know that he doesn't fear anything at all. Every hollow appears to have something to fear, even if the fear is letting Aizen down (which probably would be the fear As Nodt would capitalize on since we know all the Espada for sure fear Aizen considering all 10 never even attempted a coupt with all that power they had). F hits Ulquiprra and he gets a glimpse of not pleasing or being of service to Aizen-Sama. Game over for him.
