I've been looking very closely at these, as well as other iso power supplies. I think I have now made my decision. I shall purchase ye engine roometh. 12.
Nice job. Have you been using this power supply and if so, how do you like it so far? Yeah, can't have too many pedals or guitars. It's simply not possible. 😎
Absolutely love it, I’ve now acquired a Boss ES-8 to help out and it even powers that like a champ. Also had to work with Fender’s customer support and they were beyond stellar! Could ask for a better product!
Can probably run any power supply from the link socket on it really, it’ll just be wired parallel to the mains power input so it won’t care what’s plugged into it, only limiting factor would be if the cables inside are really thin but I doubt most pedal supplies will melt whatever they’ve used in there.
You know that’s a really solid point! The manual obviously only recommends the Engine Room series devices but yeah I’m sure this can work with most power supplies!
Thanks for this unboxing. I ordered the LVL8 for the Medium size Fender Pedalboard but after going over all my pedals I actually need the LVL12 so I'll be ordering that one this week. Hopefully it fits in the casing? I think they're very close dimension wise (LVL8 and LVL12) so I'll either keep the LVL8 just for a backup or maybe build another small pedalboard? I just pulled everything out of the box and Fender really outdid themselves on the design and build quality. I know you weren't happy about not having install brackets but other than that this thing is built like a small aluminum body tank. I love having the reverse polarity plug too so I can couple my board with my Digitech Whammy IV pedal all in the same rig. I went back and forth for almost a year now and the Fender Pedalboard actually fits my need better than other brands because of the aluminum platform base being lightweight but strong as well. The fun part is yet to come of course. Putting all the pedals in a low noise chain. The rig won't be here for another 3 days so I'm using "Pedal Playground" to kinda figure out the placement part. It's a pretty cool program, if you haven't used it check it out. Have a great day :).
Hey thanks for the heads up on Pedal Playground. I’ve never heard it and as I am about to do the addition of a buffer I will probably need this to fit everything comfortably! Thanks for the heads up! And I think the LVL12 is a little bit longer as I believe it also adds some ports as well! And that Ted one for the reverse polarity is awesome! When I was playing with a whammy it was so easy just to have it there! Also, thanks for the view!
@@anerdheard My pleasure, reviews like yours are infinitely money and time savers so I thank you for this video! I set up with the LVL8 because they were available, ALL of the LVL12's were sold out so I am purchasing a used one off of Reverb for about $70 in savings :). The extra outputs (2) AND the external power output on the front are invaluable for me at least. I had the entire board w/ pedals assembled within 1.5 hrs because I used a hair dryer to add the velcro. If I have to, I can make a custom bracket underneath for the Power Supply. This pedalboard AND power supply are truly spot on (pun intended) for my use. For my overdrive I'm using the MXR Power 50 which I got about 2 weeks ago. You should really check it out. It is a Tom Morello signature pedal but emulates the JCM800 tone to an absolute "T" through any amp! That will get you almost ALL of the tones from the 80's and 90's bands as well as the early 2000's as well. I even got some 70's tones from it also with a little time and tweaking. Whether you like Tom Morello or not don't let politics invade your brain, this pedal absolutely rocks! I play mine through a Katana MKII 100w and it really does the Marshall sound justice! Power isolation through all the outputs is tremendously advantageous also to avoid bleedover issues. P.S. you can also daisy chain your amp through the power of the LVL12 ;).
Eyyyy that’s so awesome! I eventually bought a two tiered Vertex board and it’s neatly housed underneath out of sight!!! Might do a board overview once it’s all tidied up!
Good choices!!! If I had to choose between the two… the Big Muff! I’ve tried the OCD twice and couldn’t get something I loved out of it, but it’s Ana amazing OD pedal!
Oooh okay I’ve seen what you’re talking about but sadly have not gotten my hands on any of those to try out in person! Might have too to see what they sound like!
Was literally about to pull the trigger on a Strymon until I saw these! The expandability and output per plug had me sold! Great flexibility! And it looks good on top of the pedalboard!
@@anerdheard yeah I think I’ll definitely be saving up for this one next. Thanks for doing the video, look forward to seeing your follow up in a few weeks
I play bass and so far I’m really liking my Westwood OD. BUT, as you have said you can’t have too many ODs. I would love the Moog minifooger drive, JHS moonshine, and DOD 250 one day. Not to stack, but just to swap out whenever I want Lolol. Totally unnecessary to have that many as a bass player, but man they are fun.
I mean having a variety of OD’s is like… having colors all over your pallet that you can swap out… it’s pretty awesome. I am a huge fan of the Moonshine… fantastic drive!!! I also have a variation of the 250 and it’s super super dirty
@@anerdheard yeah those are insane! I love it so far man. Found a tone that totally love. The controls were challenging for me to understand at first since I’m not familiar with the terminology they used, but I found something totally useful. Might turn out different for a guitar tho. I was restricted cause I didn’t want to lose any low end when messing with the Tone knob. But that limitation is not bad. It just made getting my sound much, much easier.
Limitations can be a helpful tool in the right hands… so much good has come from limitations! Just take Nintendo and their numerous hardware limitations and the genius that forced out!
Can someone confirm if the red head cable is the one for reverse polarity?
Sure is! Works on pedals like the older Whammy!
@@anerdheard what is the green one for?
Can it power up Line 6 HX Stomp XL with two extra pedals (Walrus Age and Eras)??
It actually has 10 ports that support 500mA at 9V and 2 that do 500mA at 9, 12, or 18V! As long as you’re not chaining you should be golden!
I've been looking very closely at these, as well as other iso power supplies. I think I have now made my decision. I shall purchase ye engine roometh. 12.
Very well, sire. I feel as though you will be most satisfied with your decision, I’ve put mine through the ringer and she’s still going strong!!!
@@anerdheard She shall be rung and she will remain strong!
3 m dual lock will hold that power supply on the bottom of any pedal board with no issues. Mounting bracket is really not needed.
Wow… never thought about using 3M thanks for the heads up
Is it really really totally isolated?? Because the nordell audio power supply I got on Amazon said it was isolated but apparently it isn’t !?
It's got a fan. A video without talking about fan noise (or hopefully lack of fan noise) is a bit disappointing
I've got an overdrive that wants 10volts, for some reason. I guess this won't be able to power it.
I just bought one today at a $90 discount, as I had some award points in my account.
Then you… got a hell of a deal! Congrats!!!
"..because you can't have enough overdrive and distortion pedals.." I immediately hit the like and subscribe button. 🤘🤘
I mean is there such a thing? Finally got the 1981 Inventions Drive and not oh boy… does that thing sing!!!!
Also thank you for watching and the sub

Why thank you, that’s very much appreciated!
i have the lvl 12. i ordered the pedaltrain mounting brackets for the voodoo lab, and had to modify the bracket to align the screw positions
Word on the street is the Strymon brackets for their PS work perfectly as well if you need an alternative!
@@anerdheard thanks, will check into it
Could maybe use a Couple of cable ties for brackets ?
.
The design really reminds me of the Harley Benton, Mosky and Vitoos PS.
I can absolutely do the Vitoos Power Supply! Good eye!

Thank you very much! I appreciate it!! I try ;)
Very helpful. You still liking your choice?
I am! In fact I have swayed my bass player to pick one up, and I’m excited to see them move past the One spot daisy chain!
have you tried to stack the outputs to up the current, two outs into one for current heavy pedals???
Are you referring to running them in parallel? Or in series? Or in some other type of way?
