The funny thing is the 2006 cup competition almost followed the script of this film only the village team was Gretna and it was Hearts who beat them on penalties.
I have fond memories of this in production prior to its release. Back then I was a massive Rangers fan who never missed a game home and away. I remember one game at Ibrox having to do a double take looking at this fellow 'fan' and thinking '"Is that Tom Hagen?" ......having a wee chuckle to myself at the thought... As if the Catholic consigliere - of the VERY Catholic Corleone family - would be a fan of the world's most famous Protestant football club, and even if it were he, I couldnt imagine he'd adorn a scarf with 'F*ck the Pope' scrawled across it and a picture of Pope JP2 inside a prohibition sign. Even myself, who was absolutely no angel thought that the anti papal attire was overkill. 😂😂
Thanks for posting the movie! Great to see the movie that goes with Mark Knopfler's soundtrack!
My new favourite football movie
Have not seen it yet lol my dad told me about it so I thought I would try and look for it very hard to find but was able to find a great version in HD
I remember them filming the Kilmarnock section at Rugby Park back in the day, can’t remember what year exactly, but I remember I was young!
Great wee movie, mind you the real Super Ally would never play for Celtic. Enjoyable though and loved the scenery.
Thank you 😎
Nice. Thanks for putting this up. 👍
