I bought a pixel 8 pro for this new year, everything was fantastic only concerning thing is it warms up as soon as we start using whatsapp or youtube or anything. May be i think it is not suitable for people located in hot climate countries especially in summer. I have returned it and bought s24 ultra and honestly this phone was used for 2 weeks and currently summer temparature were gone up and still it didn't warm up atleast once on general use. I think google should work on their chip to solve this warming issue. I am a fan pixel but will buy once they bring any device that solves this temparature issue.

I don't know why people like you buys a phone if you already has an incredible new phone, if I buy a phone and its good I will keep it and not looking for a replacement until it breakdowns. Don't get me wrong my job is programming and probably has more knowledge in bleeding edge tech, but it nonsense to upgrade in a minimal improvement device maybe 2-3 years for the wear/tear and significant improvement of device.
S24 still has a better ecosystem and better customization and features. The pixel just has AI and, an arguably, better back camera. S24 pretty much exceeds in all other areas tbh.

@@muralimohan542 my 8 Pro hasn't felt warm and I'm a heavy user. My iPhone 15 Pro Max use 2 get really uncomfortable 2 hold and the battery would drain from 100% down to 37% in about 1 hour 30 mins. I've used the 8 Pro for about 5 hours watchin 2 movies and didn't have any problems with it gettin warm and I use my phone caseless while at home and only use a case when I go out.

My S24U 1TB in Titanium Orange just arrived and I'm going to set it up tonight. I'm upgrading from a Green S22U 512 that I have been using since June 2022, which I'm trading back to Samsung. Thanks to you, I used your discount and also your encouragement to get the S24. I think it will be a great phone, even though I have to say that Samsung does not seem all that good of a listener to people's feedback and they focus more on copying Apple. I still miss the LG and Blackberry for their groundbreaking features (at the time) that I don't see anyone doing anymore.
That's where flip and z series are being released. You gmcan buy them if you want something unique and ground breaking. Thing is mate, people want to see these kind of gimmick phobe but they don't want to buy as daily device, they prefer simple and more reliable devices. The companies have stopped pretty much as its waste of their R&D funds and resources. We have popup and flip cameras but people stopped buying them as the motors might fail one fmday. We had indisplay selifie cam, people criticised pictures are not as good as normal selfie camera. So there is no point of bring devices with unique and cool stuff as in reality most percentage of people they love to see them but not to buy them.

Battery life is absolutely abysmal on the 8 pro. I really wanted to the like the phone, but bad battery life this day and age is a non starter for me. I gave it a solid week, but it just wasn't meant to be.
The Pixel 8 Pro has been the perfect device for since I got it 2 months ago. The battery life lasts all day and into the next, it doesn't heat up when gaming which is mostly Bloons TD 5 & 6, the cameras are great but the video falls short of Apple and I am really happy with it. However, one of the most talked about features in Pixel phones does not work too well for me, the voice recorder/ transcriptions. Its probably an accent thing, but it is frequently wrong, but not a deal breaker.
It’s a good thing that Google is doing 7 years of updates! I get a new phone every year but the average user keeps phones for 3 years or more. My brother still has the iPhone XR and is still very happy with it.
I just picked up the 8 pro for $799. Replacement for my regular Pixel 6. I just prefer Android on Pixel. Went pro this time because they got rid of the curved display.
I had the worst experience of my life with pixel 8 pro. I exchanged the phone 3 times and it boils down to that trash tensor chip. Until they get rid of it, it will always remain behind the competition. This is the first time Samsung feels light and fast and Google feels bogged down. The 7 years of update is a joke when the phone was outdated 7 months before it even released.
I love my pixel 8 pro, there's nothing flashy about it really but it is still such a great phone. I think that the ultra is amazing but I'm honestly equally as impressed by the OnePlus 12 as I am the S24 Ultra and have found myself using it most of the time
Got my 8 Pro 256 with the regular $200.00 discount plus a $125.00 extra discount for UA-cam premium membership. Paid in total $785.00 taxes included. And btw is a great phone. The only thing I would improve is the battery life.
I’ve been thinking about getting this phone. Spectrum has it for $399 straight up….no monthly credits. At $399, it maybe worth trading out my 13 pro max.
I bought the Pixel 8 Pro. I returned it. The fingerprint sensor was so slow. Battery life not good. Camera was very good. The main reason I returned it was it's modem. signal strength jumped from 3 to 0 a lot. I just felt it was sub par for the price. I ended up buying the Oneplus 12 and I hope it is a long lasting good quality phone? Just because I have never owned one before. But I am glad I switched. It is amazing in so many ways compared to the Pixel. Sorry Pixel. I was really excited to get a Pixel. But also so disappointed.
Fair warning about the P8P: After having the phone only for a few weeks, the top speaker started having issues. Never dropped my phone, never got it wet. Fully protected with a case, screen and visor protectors. Sent the phone to Google for repair, only to receive it back with the same issue. Google's customer support is fully AI-automated, I believe. Giving it one more shot before I consider switching to Samsung. Hard choice since I enjoy using the P8P.

Honestly, I agree it's more comparable to the plus than the ultra, especially since there isn't much difference between the plus and ultra to begin with. Also the plus and pro are both have the same starting MSRP. It's gonna be an agree to disagree situation for me.
Here is Australia the difference between the 512gb versions is $261. But with the Samsung you always get something with, whereas with the pixel it hardly ever goes on sale over here.
Love pixels. Had the 7 pro and 6 pro. Even with their issues I loved using them. I upgraded recently and got the 15 pro max. Going tomorrow to trade it in for a pixel 8 pro. Didn’t realize how much I liked the pixel. Until I got apple. Samsung does sneaky things so I won’t ever get a Samsung again. My main thing with Samsung is that overtime the camera quality just gets worse and worse like they are updating them to do that so you think it’s time for a new flagship or something.
The Pixel 8 Pro has a better camera and AI features (performing better as well). The only thing is I wish the Pixel's battery life was a little longer. I'm getting 6/8hrs SoT which is pretty decent though.
Yeah, the pixel phones are really fun to have. Yeah started with the 3a and I’m on my fifth pixel phone, the Pixel 8. I really enjoyed the feature set that comes with it but somehow Samsung phones seem more reliable and the software seems more cohesive or better thought out like it’s for grown-ups or something. I’m hoping with the pixel nine they get a smaller version of the pro.
I got the 1 TB S24 Ultra for $791 after trade in of my Note 20 Ultra and a few other discounts. I think the new phone is amazing. The 7 years of updates just sounds like a gimmick to me. After 4 years, the phone would be left behind in terms of features and speed. I wouldn't keep a phone more than 4 years. I really wonder how many people actually keep their phone for 7 years. It sounds good to hear, but I suspect there would be very few people who would actually benefit from it.
I got the Pixel 8 pro 256GB for roughly the price of the base S24. Not the S24+ or S24ultra, the base S24. And at that price, the Pixel 8 pro is absolutely worth it, IMHO. Also, if the camera is important for you ... save the money and invest the money you saved in a "real" camera.
@@TechOdyssey Well, depends. Pocket and bridge cameras don't have multiple lenses and depending on the model don't cost too much. And if you look for models with (at least) an one inch sensor, you will get better low light performance and often more optical zoom compared to smartphones. And even if you look at DSRLs and DSLMs, you can sometimes make a bargain. I was so disappointed with the vacation photos my old smartphone made, that I now seriously looking for an actual camera. Don't get me wrong, I don't "hate" smartphone cameras. They have become better over time and deliver good results for the little space they have. But in the end, a smartphone is simply not large enough for good optics. Also, keep in mind, a camera isn't outdated after 4, or 5 or 7 years ... unlike a smartphone that doesn't get any updates anymore.
If the rumored pixel 9 pro does have a 6.5 in QHD Dispkay, that's the phone I will wait for. I hope it is true because I'm resisting buying a phone at the moment.

Just ordered a brand new P8Pro for £620 on Ebay, dirt cheap for how much phone you get! Been Using Samsung for a long time now and im a bit bored, I did try the P8Pro when it first came out and I stuck with Samsung with some slight regret, ive now decided to pull the trigger again and I dont think ill regret it this time! Im also starting to quite dislike Samsungs image processing

You can just go into the AI setting and set it up to not have any data sent to samsung. The only glaring feature that didn't work for me was the page summary on the internet. Everything else worked fine without connecting to the cloud to use features.
Loving my P8 but with Samsung deals and trade ins the S24 line can come in cheaper. With Google Increasing the Pixel prices its harder to justify paying flagship prices for an Exynos chip, a bad modem and an optical FP sensor. Love the clean Android experience though. It's a tough call.
I'm currently deciding between the S24 Ultra and the Pixel 8 Pro. Here in the UK the Pixel 8 Pro is currently on sale for £849. My biggest concern is battery life, I've read online that the battery life isn't good (I currently have an iPhone 14 Pro Max).
@DavidJames-ro2bl So, on top of my head you've got the enhanced AI screen calling, the body temperature sensor and the summarize feature. There are a few more minor ones and a UK reddit user had a more comprehensive list. The point is some of the advertised features are region locked and it gets even worse if you're in other EU countries or even outside the EU. Heck, even Canada doesn't have all the features and they're right next to Google's home country. For me finding this out was a bit of a disappointment since we're not exactly getting big trade-in deals or special offers in the UK.
If I had liked the Pixel watch, I would have gotten the Pixel 8 Pro. The deals Samsung had were too good to pass up. It didn't make sense to just buy the watch and skip on the S24U 512GB upgrade.
As I've seen others say, I had the pixal 8 Pro and the s24 ultra and I actually decided to return the s24 ultra because it's so annoying and has tons of problems. As someone who runs two different businesses almost entirely through my phone's, I cannot stand all of the keyboard and language input / output issues that the Samsung phone has. It doesn't seem to matter what I do or what settings I change, it doesn't matter how many Google things I use to replace Samsung services, it's still terrible. I cannot stand it. There's tons of different issues with my s24 ultra. Had the pixel 8 pro sold it on eBay to pay for my s24. The pixel kept dropping signal and I hated that I need my phone to do the phone part of its job. Loving the S24 ultra I will try pixel again when google moves to snapdragon
I don't have the pixel 8 pro or s24 ultra but I do have an s23 and a regular pixel 8 and tbh I like the pixel exclusive features but my s23 just feels more premium. When using the screen on the pixel 8 it makes a hollow noise while using the s23 screen seems more sturdy. Once you notice the hollow noise of the pixels you can't unhear it. Also my s23 is lightning fast and does everything well its supposed to while my pixel 8 needs restarted alot because of hiccups. Earlier part of the screen wouldn't register touches. Also it has gotten stuck on 100% and wouldn't go down and the past two days it won't show my screen on time at all. It says data not available. My s23 never has issues like that. In fact I can't recall my s23 having ANY issues and I've had it for a year while only having my pixel less than two months. I wish google would make their exclusive pixel only features available as a monthly or yearly subscription available on any phone with capable hardware because I would pay to have the features on my samsung

Great content. Of course, the pixel 8pro is better with AI than samsung. Google has been using AI for a while. I do believe this is Samsungs first try at AI. And a lot of it is from Google. I'll still stick with my s23 ultra. Did you get the February software update for s23 ultra🤔 I just got mine this morning. As for the back of the 8pro, they should or a 3rd party should sell a plastic or glass cover, like they do for the samsung cameras. And I heard that samsung is gonna send out an update for the cameras on the s24 ultra.
Here the pixel will cost me 1159€ (for256GB), but the s24 ultra i can get for 1149 via my internet supplier (they do not offer google). But i am not coninced with the Ai stuff for photo editing from samsung, let alone the fee ùthey will impement in 2025. Also prefer the ergonomics of the pixel…
I have no interest in the S24 ultra I'm still rocking thw pixel 7 pro, however, I'm still eyeing this phone pixel 8 pro. I've seen renderers of the pixel 9 pro and to me they should have stayed with the pixel 8 pro's design. The pixel 9 pro looks like an iPhone with a Google Pixel fold camera bump (which I'm not feeling i don't want an iphone if thats the case I would just get one) Tensor Gen2, and 3 chips are not as weak as the media makes them out to be they're very capable chips

The Pixel phones have been beta phones since their release. Like Early access games. They are NOT suitable for the average consumer. Google does not have faith in their product and that is why they are not available everywhere. I disagree with you. Pixel cannot make it for 3 years. Pixel 8 didn't have initial issues at launch because the sales were abysmal, and many users have abandoned it due to bad past experience.

Pixel 8 pro even does warm up for general use. That is the only major con, and for rest all it is a fantastic device daily device.

The video quality on release looked VERY promising. Now, the low light video noise control is definitely worse for whatever reason.

I bought the Pixel 8 Pro. I returned it. The fingerprint sensor was so slow. Battery life not good. Camera was very good. The main reason I returned it was it's modem. signal strength jumped from 3 to 0 a lot. I just felt it was sub par for the price. I ended up buying the Oneplus 12 and I hope it is a long lasting good quality phone? Just because I have never owned one before. But I am glad I switched. It is amazing in so many ways compared to the Pixel. Sorry Pixel. I was really excited to get a Pixel. But also so disappointed.
Just recently ordered one. It's supposed to be here tomorrow. I hope it's really good because I'm rocking the Google Pixel 6 right now
Fair warning about the P8P: After having the phone only for a few weeks, the top speaker started having issues. Never dropped my phone, never got it wet. Fully protected with a case, screen and visor protectors. Sent the phone to Google for repair, only to receive it back with the same issue. Google's customer support is fully AI-automated, I believe.
Giving it one more shot before I consider switching to Samsung. Hard choice since I enjoy using the P8P.
Only if S24 was not that boxy or Pixel 8 Pro had a snapdragon... That would be the perfect phone!
Its so annoying seeing the pixel 8 pro is at 200$ discount in US all the time while i'm in Europe waiting on a good deal but they still sell it at €1099 like cmon how are they expecting to sell any ?
They don't have as much consideration for the UK and EU markets. A lot of the AI features go missing when you move outside the US.

Honestly, I agree it's more comparable to the plus than the ultra, especially since there isn't much difference between the plus and ultra to begin with. Also the plus and pro are both have the same starting MSRP. It's gonna be an agree to disagree situation for me.
I purchased the 8 pro and it’ll be here Wednesday , finally glad to get off of iPhone. Had it long enough. And when iOS gets RCS it’ll blur the lines

Nice video. I have the S23 Ultra and the Pixel 7 Pro and I'm keeping both instead of upgrading. I'm one of the very few who like the curved screen.
Here is Australia the difference between the 512gb versions is $261. But with the Samsung you always get something with, whereas with the pixel it hardly ever goes on sale over here.
Love pixels. Had the 7 pro and 6 pro. Even with their issues I loved using them. I upgraded recently and got the 15 pro max. Going tomorrow to trade it in for a pixel 8 pro. Didn’t realize how much I liked the pixel. Until I got apple. Samsung does sneaky things so I won’t ever get a Samsung again. My main thing with Samsung is that overtime the camera quality just gets worse and worse like they are updating them to do that so you think it’s time for a new flagship or something.
The Pixel 8 Pro has a better camera and AI features (performing better as well). The only thing is I wish the Pixel's battery life was a little longer. I'm getting 6/8hrs SoT which is pretty decent though.

Yeah, the pixel phones are really fun to have. Yeah started with the 3a and I’m on my fifth pixel phone, the Pixel 8. I really enjoyed the feature set that comes with it but somehow Samsung phones seem more reliable and the software seems more cohesive or better thought out like it’s for grown-ups or something. I’m hoping with the pixel nine they get a smaller version of the pro.

I got the 1 TB S24 Ultra for $791 after trade in of my Note 20 Ultra and a few other discounts. I think the new phone is amazing. The 7 years of updates just sounds like a gimmick to me. After 4 years, the phone would be left behind in terms of features and speed. I wouldn't keep a phone more than 4 years. I really wonder how many people actually keep their phone for 7 years. It sounds good to hear, but I suspect there would be very few people who would actually benefit from it.

I got the Pixel 8 pro 256GB for roughly the price of the base S24. Not the S24+ or S24ultra, the base S24. And at that price, the Pixel 8 pro is absolutely worth it, IMHO. Also, if the camera is important for you ... save the money and invest the money you saved in a "real" camera.
Cameras are pretty expensive and require multiple lenses that cost a lot of money as well to do the photography one of these phones can do
@@TechOdyssey Well, depends. Pocket and bridge cameras don't have multiple lenses and depending on the model don't cost too much. And if you look for models with (at least) an one inch sensor, you will get better low light performance and often more optical zoom compared to smartphones. And even if you look at DSRLs and DSLMs, you can sometimes make a bargain. I was so disappointed with the vacation photos my old smartphone made, that I now seriously looking for an actual camera.
Don't get me wrong, I don't "hate" smartphone cameras. They have become better over time and deliver good results for the little space they have. But in the end, a smartphone is simply not large enough for good optics.
Also, keep in mind, a camera isn't outdated after 4, or 5 or 7 years ... unlike a smartphone that doesn't get any updates anymore.

Just ordered a brand new P8Pro for £620 on Ebay, dirt cheap for how much phone you get! Been Using Samsung for a long time now and im a bit bored, I did try the P8Pro when it first came out and I stuck with Samsung with some slight regret, ive now decided to pull the trigger again and I dont think ill regret it this time! Im also starting to quite dislike Samsungs image processing

You can just go into the AI setting and set it up to not have any data sent to samsung. The only glaring feature that didn't work for me was the page summary on the internet. Everything else worked fine without connecting to the cloud to use features.

Increasing the Pixel prices its harder to justify paying flagship prices for an Exynos chip, a bad modem and an optical FP sensor. Love the clean Android experience though. It's a tough call.
I seen many videos where the Pixel 8 cameras are on parr with the 24 ultra and 15 pro.

I'm currently deciding between the S24 Ultra and the Pixel 8 Pro. Here in the UK the Pixel 8 Pro is currently on sale for £849. My biggest concern is battery life, I've read online that the battery life isn't good (I currently have an iPhone 14 Pro Max).
Also some AI features are not available outside the US. Big concern of mine. Full price for a limited features phone.

@DavidJames-ro2bl So, on top of my head you've got the enhanced AI screen calling, the body temperature sensor and the summarize feature.
There are a few more minor ones and a UK reddit user had a more comprehensive list.
The point is some of the advertised features are region locked and it gets even worse if you're in other EU countries or even outside the EU.
Heck, even Canada doesn't have all the features and they're right next to Google's home country.
For me finding this out was a bit of a disappointment since we're not exactly getting big trade-in deals or special offers in the UK.

Im struggling to choose between the s24 plus, ultra or just going woth the pixel 8 pro.
If I had liked the Pixel watch, I would have gotten the Pixel 8 Pro. The deals Samsung had were too good to pass up. It didn't make sense to just buy the watch and skip on the S24U 512GB upgrade.
As I've seen others say, I had the pixal 8 Pro and the s24 ultra and I actually decided to return the s24 ultra because it's so annoying and has tons of problems. As someone who runs two different businesses almost entirely through my phone's, I cannot stand all of the keyboard and language input / output issues that the Samsung phone has. It doesn't seem to matter what I do or what settings I change, it doesn't matter how many Google things I use to replace Samsung services, it's still terrible. I cannot stand it. There's tons of different issues with my s24 ultra. I can't believe it honestly. on top of all the issues that people have had with the s24 ultra, Samsung has really done their customers dirty in a few different ways this time. Shameful! Now I just wish that Google would make a bigger and better watch

Che possa essere una funzione nascosta di Google e viene utilizzato durante foto e video, una sorta di rilevamento ambientale per il settaggio di parametri di messa a fuoco o altro, qualcosa in fase sperimentale? Se il rilevamento di temperatura non è certificato lo trovo una risorsa ingombrante.
Had the pixel 8 pro sold it on eBay to pay for my s24. The pixel kept dropping signal and I hated that I need my phone to do the phone part of its job. Loving the S24 ultra I will try pixel again when google moves to snapdragon

I don't have the pixel 8 pro or s24 ultra but I do have an s23 and a regular pixel 8 and tbh I like the pixel exclusive features but my s23 just feels more premium. When using the screen on the pixel 8 it makes a hollow noise while using the s23 screen seems more sturdy. Once you notice the hollow noise of the pixels you can't unhear it. Also my s23 is lightning fast and does everything well its supposed to while my pixel 8 needs restarted alot because of hiccups. Earlier part of the screen wouldn't register touches. Also it has gotten stuck on 100% and wouldn't go down and the past two days it won't show my screen on time at all. It says data not available. My s23 never has issues like that. In fact I can't recall my s23 having ANY issues and I've had it for a year while only having my pixel less than two months. I wish google would make their exclusive pixel only features available as a monthly or yearly subscription available on any phone with capable hardware because I would pay to have the features on my samsung

Great content. Of course, the pixel 8pro is better with AI than samsung. Google has been using AI for a while. I do believe this is Samsungs first try at AI. And a lot of it is from Google. I'll still stick with my s23 ultra. Did you get the February software update for s23 ultra🤔 I just got mine this morning. As for the back of the 8pro, they should or a 3rd party should sell a plastic or glass cover, like they do for the samsung cameras. And I heard that samsung is gonna send out an update for the cameras on the s24 ultra.

Here the pixel will cost me 1159€ (for256GB), but the s24 ultra i can get for 1149 via my internet supplier (they do not offer google).
But i am not coninced with the Ai stuff for photo editing from samsung, let alone the fee ùthey will impement in 2025.

I have no interest in the S24 ultra I'm still rocking thw pixel 7 pro, however, I'm still eyeing this phone pixel 8 pro. I've seen renderers of the pixel 9 pro and to me they should have stayed with the pixel 8 pro's design. The pixel 9 pro looks like an iPhone with a Google Pixel fold camera bump (which I'm not feeling i don't want an iphone if thats the case I would just get one) Tensor Gen2, and 3 chips are not as weak as the media makes them out to be they're very capable chips

Im sure its just me and Im being ultra picky Im sure, but I wished the Pixel 8 Pro felt more premium in my hands. I got it when it launched and Im 6 days away from being able to switch to my S24 Ultra and I cant wait to be completely honest.

@@TechOdyssey I don't mean that. I don't think the value is justified considering that the old Samsung will get all the new features as well as the new one. While the pixels won't get any of that. I think it's definitely a bad price-win ratio. 8 pro will be outdated when new models are launched in June as fold 2 and 8a.
The Pixel phones have been beta phones since their release. Like Early access games. They are NOT suitable for the average consumer. Google does not have faith in their product and that is why they are not available everywhere.
I disagree with you. Pixel cannot make it for 3 years. Pixel 8 didn't have initial issues at launch because the sales were abysmal, and many users have abandoned it due to bad past experience.
