Canada has taken in many Indians as international students and "temporary foreign workers" - a nice word for cheap foreign labour. The students are used as cheap foreign labour as well. It makes it hard for Canadian citizens to get into entry level jobs now.

There's no cheap labor. Without having a valid job contract which satisfies the skilled work visa salary requirements, one cannot work in Germany. Also there is work council which controls work hours etc. strictly.

I work in Germany for the past 15 months. I strongly recommend my fellow indians not to come to germany coz of complex bureacracy and racism. Please look elsewhere if you get other options. Only come when you dont have any other opputunity. It is true that germany pay bit more than other EU and cost of living is Ok. But langauge bullying, racism and buracracy is real bad (germans will beat you by hovering in grey area). YOU WILL ALWAYS BE LOOKED AT WITH DISGUST.
I lived in Jena and presently in Halle which are den for racism in Germany.
This country is a scam. The Auslanderbehorde wont even reply to you and make you wait like a begger. They also get oral instructions reg blue card and settlement petmits from govt and do not always go by rule book. Basically they want young and cheap workers.

I have been living in Germany for last 5 years. Haven't encountered a single incident of racism. I find people here to be warm and welcoming. There was a time where I couldn't speak German but my supervisor and colleagues would switch to English. Of course, if you know the language then it is much easier. But there is no language bullying like Bengaluru. I agree with the slow bureaucracy. But your statements seem to be over the top.

If you are planning to do a blue-collar job in Germany, you should come. However, if you are planning to do a white-collar job, I highly suggest you reconsider your choices. If you are making over ₹20 lakhs/year in India, don't come to Germany. Your skills will not be valued. It will be difficult for you to get promoted. You will have no social life in Germany as German society is a very depressing individualistic society.
Further, the bureaucracy makes it worse. Church tax, Radio Tax, TV Tax, and so many weird taxes. You will feel like living in a cage in Germany. I studied in Germany and left it for good. Never returning back.
If you are obsessed with doing a high-paying job in a foreign country, consider Switzerland, UAE, Singapore, Australia, Ireland, and the good old UK and USA.

@@jaswantparihar1347 Sorry to burst your myth. Foreigners make up nearly 90% of the population of UAE. South Asians make up 48% of the population. So, you would easily find your circles. Further, you can celebrate your festivals without being judged.
Yes, there is racial discrimination in UAE which is very openly portrayed in many areas. However, in Germany, this racial profiling is very subdued. For example, you may be denied entry to a bar or nightclub. Others may not come and sit next to you on a bus. You can't celebrate your festivals openly. You would not be invited to many events. You may face challenges in getting promoted. Your kids may be given lesser scores in school. In Germany, if you do poorly in school, you can't get admission to a university. The German education system is very much marks and score oriented - just like in India. In India, at least you have an entrance exam to settle scores, but in Germany, your high school grade is pretty much everything.
German hospitality $ucks. Hardly anyone would invite you to their house. Even if you visit a friend, very rare that he/she would offer you a glass of water. If you plan to hang out with you German friend, you need to ask him/her at least 2-3 weeks ahead, plan your outing to the exact number of hours, and be there on time. Even friendship lacks spontaneity. It's so mechanical. 68% of all Germans above the age of 60 are lonely. 10% of the population in general is lonely. There is a loneliness epidemic in Germany.

In the past few days, I met some Indian families who had moved to Germany but have now returned to India. They shared that, while the grass often looks greener on the other side, they faced challenges that led them to move back. These included difficulties adjusting, language barriers, a somewhat closed society-especially toward foreigners-limited opportunities for saving, experiences of racism, and complex bureaucracy.

Indians moving to Germany may find that having a thick skin can be helpful, should be prepared for biases.
Subtle racism can feel pervasive in Germany, even in workplaces that emphasize inclusivity. Despite strong anti-discrimination laws, unspoken biases and microaggressions often impact people from diverse backgrounds, especially those who visibly differ from the majority. This can show up as exclusion from social circles, being overlooked for promotions, or facing subtle stereotypes. Real progress requires a deep commitment to inclusion, open dialogue, and structural change to create truly welcoming environments.

And we'd rather not talk about the flood of illegal economic immigrants who are unwilling to work right now. There is no shortage of people

Come to Germany only if you have atleast B2 level of proficiency. Than life will be easier here.
And also if you are earning above 1 lac per month in tier 2 or 3 cities than better be in India.
And appeal to German government also for illegal immigrants you give them full facilities per month they get enough from our tax money to live a good life without working plus free language courses.
While the legal immigrants who come here work hard earn every penny by deserving it where are the facilities.
International students are facing difficulties to get job here and now you want to bring more.
Tell your conpanies to hire people with conditions to get German fluent in 2-3 years while arranging the classes this way you solve problems.

Here enough people are already available but government doesn't pay enough. They need cheap labour so from India and I bet you they can't even learn such tough German language. How an Indian nurse will communicate with German patients.
