Hi friend, I definitely loved riding with this frame, but before painting (I bought it unpainted), it was necessary: - decreased the thread size of the battery cover screw, because it wasn't possible to install the BB (like you in the video) - fix the front derailleur support that was riveted. I removed the revit and used screw (optional) - clean the handlebar bolt threads - replace the handlebar spacers by another bought from Aliexpress (better quality - aesthetics) - fix the seatpost hole that was made with a hand drill (aesthetics) - adjust the battery cover on frame because it wasn't level with the frame (aesthetics) I hope I don't have future problems, because the driving is great!
Wow, thanks for the detailed you shared. I have also replaced the spacers and cleaned up the bolt threads. This is not a perfect bike but with a little TLC it makes a great bike.
Looking forward to your complete build as I am also thinking about buying exact model. Although I am waiting for the L-Twoo hydraulic version that just came out. Really hope your brake mount surface doesn’t have to be filed and leveled like some other youtuber mentioned on their video~
That is why I chose the cable-actuated hydraulic disc brakes for that very reason. Doing the cable is challenging through the handlebar; I think L-Twoo hydraulic would be the same. I am planning to document and share it later.
Me too I had the same problem with that screw inside the bottom bracket and a SRAM DUB. Instead using a file I used a small cutting pliers and it takes about half an hour to fix. It seemed to me that the screw is a problem only with the bottom bracket of a large diameter, and it should not be a problem with a Shimano bottom bracket (24 mm axle), but I didn't check.
Hey, looking forward to see the build finished. I'll probably buy the same model with rim brakes. The name of the paintjob is blue chameleon right ? it look great !
Hay, actually, it is Purple Chameleon. It looks bluer under sunlight, though. Rim brake is a good option, and I consider that closely between both the disc and rim. If I only got one bike, I would likely go with the rim version. However, giving me the wheelset I can switch around my bikes win over that agreement.
Nice frame but absurd that Chris at Velobuild sends these out like this. Proves absolutely no quality contr what so ever but then to be expected I suppose. Nice looking frame however and hope it proves fruitful.
I suspect they did not test every version of BB to ensure the product works for the majority, which is a shame. It also shows us how much work would go into a frame, and I am starting to apricate the effort of every manufacturer (assuming they are not just copying out from an OEM frame).

That’s right but they should have checked other commonly used BB standards.

No dremel?
That’s would be quicker. Good suggestion.👍

I bought this frame and had the same problem.
