- This is a song about how some women feel under pressure to look a certain way with the constant need to uphold unrealistic beauty standards shown in the media. This song is to show women that there is no such thing as the “perfect look” and that each woman is beautiful in their own way.
Our “Misneach” project at the Kabin Studio is all about female empowerment with the goal of encouraging young women to be themselves and educating the community on the many challenges we face.
Supported by St. Patrick's Festival x TikTok Creative Fund.
Additional support by Foróige Link Point, Cork ETB, Music Generation Cork City, It's OK Cork, Léargas / European Solidarity Project & GMCBeats Workshops.
The project was carried out at The Kabin Studio which is a creative outlet for young people in Knocknaheeny, Cork City. The Kabin encourages self-confidence, creativity and musical passions, providing a safe space for young people to express themselves through music and art and to make friends.

Lyrics
I feel this pressure to be somebody I'm not,
i feel this pressure to cover up every spot,
Don’t even know the girl in the mirror staring back at me,
I lost myself trying to be,
The girl on the magazine cover,
Who’s seems so confident,
it makes me start to wonder
what’s going through her head,
does she feel the way i feel and think the way I think,
Does she have insecurities that make her feel sick,
The voice inside her head
Always tearing her down
It’s like they don’t understand
Why she’s afraid to speak out
They say boys will be boys in how they use their words
So why have double standards when it comes to girls.
