Good job, Matt. I cut bass and catfish up in nugget size. I dredge my fish with either an egg wash or sometimes buttermilk. I use about the same ratio in the breading as you do but I don’t use jiffy cornbread mix. It has a little flour in it too I think as well as sugar. I really like the cornmeal that we get at Benton’s Country hams up there where you live. Best ever. Grin. I use peanut oil. I’m careful not to over cook my nuggets or fillets. I have had people who claim that they don’t like fish, actually love my fish.
I love fish cooked in jiffy. I used to do it just about like you do. It is awesome. I now use House Autry Seafood breader from walmart. No need to add much to it. They also make some really good hushpuppy mix. The hushpuppy mix is hard to find. I get it on amazon. Just add cream corn onions peppers or whatever you like. Give it a try. Love your videos. Keep up the good work! I am watching.
Michael, you can do it the exact same way and drop them in the deep fryer. If you do it in the skillet it’s the same cook. Golden brown buddy. Cook time is roughly the same. However if you use a skillet you do have to flip them.
The key with any fish, but especially crappie is to not overcook. Crappie cooks really fast and if they overcook, they will either be mushy or dry. Depends a lot on the thickness of the crappie, but with a really small fillet, like from a 9 incher, they will cook up in less than a minute per side. Experiment a bit and try to cook for as little as possible ensuring the fish flakes apart.
It's pronounced Tony "Sacherie". Or we also call it "Anthony Coonass" And those aren't Crappie... they are Sacalait. LOL. Just a little Louisiana humor for ya.
idk why ppl love tony c? it juts tastes salty to me and no other spice flavors, i think even the ingredients are juts a few things but way to salty ,i make my own dry rub and it good on porc which is what i made it for like ribs and still good on chicken ,perhaps fish too

I never take crappie from warm waters . Upper WI Mississippi river . Ice crappies are the best !
Scott. I take em when I wanna eat em. LOL. Always ice them down first. Gets them good and cold.
Thats on my bucket list. Caught 3 salt water trout today. Would this be good on those?
I think so!
I always have deep fried my fish never done it in a skillet how long you fry it like that
