I talk a lot about timeboxing and how effective it can be to eliminate distraction in your life, but WHY does it work?
Timeboxing uses a psychological principle called setting an “implementation intention,” which is a fancy way of saying planning out what you’re going to do and when you’re going to do it.
It is BY FAR the most studied and the most effective time management technique. The studies overwhelmingly prove timeboxing works. And I bet if you took a look at how high-performers plan their time, you’ll discover they use some form of it.
You can too. It’s just about saying to yourself: “What am I going to do, and when am I going to do it?”

My fear is that the calendar blocking will mock me like my to do list does. But I like how you say it is iterative and I saw on Next Level Soul how you said to review when you do get distracted, to learn about why you were distracted, and also just to give it a go for a day or a week. I like your idea to think of it like a scientist ... just experiment (what I am doing now is not working, so why not)?
