Great video. The only thing I had to do differently was go 100 feet away from the router to add my plugs to the app due to 5.0 vs 2.4 GHz. I have a detached garage so I was able to set them up in there. I know others went outside and used extension cords.
Thank God for you I have tried a few different ways to get this to work you did it fir me. My mom is blind so she really needs to talk to turn stuff on and off THANK YOU
Thank you, bro! I couldn't figure out the problem with my plug at first, but then you clarified it. It was my wifi which was 5Gh. So I connected to 2.5 Gh and it worked. Thank you!
How do you chose which one to connect to? I have Verizon home internet and my smart plug was working fine for ages... Then all of a sudden it disconnected and refused to reconnect
Valuable information and straight to the point. No waffling on. Thanks for sharing. I have Alexa and Ring coupled up on my boat ( I have Alexa and Ring on my iPhone) . Can I activate these commands via cell phone from my house when an intruder boards the vessel ? Thanks again.
Nice one mate! That was well easy to follow. Just ordered some plugs for the Christmas lights and ya video couldn’t be more simple to follow! (Even for a technical plonker like me) 👍🏻🎄
Do these plugs work well on a surge protector power strip? For instance a lamp and a blue tooth speaker into the surge protector with their individual plugs?
I'm a bit challenged with all of the home connect apps, so with that admission, here's my dilemma. I have my television (with Roku connection & remote) plugged into a smart plug. I'm able to turn it on and off using the Alexa app, but I'm not able to use a voice command to get Alexa to turn on and off. The response I get with my voice command is that "Sorry, I couldn't find that in your home." Any advice on how I should proceed? Thanks!
I can't give great advice without seeing everything, however, if the device is able to be controlled in the app itself on your device (assuming this is what you mean)...try creating a group which can be controlled by voice control. Even if you only have one device it should work. Open your app, go to devices and then at the top you should see groups > add group. Follow the steps. There is a some instructions you can read too in the app. This is how I organize all my devices. I hope this helps!
My geenie plug is same as yours. The scheduled on/off quit working. Ended up resetting it but can’t connect. Took me long time to get it to work the first time but got it going. This time no luck. All I want is the radio in bathroom to turn off and on in the morning. Does the first app have a basic scheduler ? Peace
There is a Smart Life app and a Smart Home app. You need both for Alexa to recognize the stuff set up in the parent app. Otherwise, a little fast, and I would say a better mouse pointing so we can see what you are pressing to get from A to Z. Thanks though.
It took me a while but it works, I’m a visual person it would be nice if you can point to the next step. Thanks . Now I will set 7 more plugs. Can I set it to on timer ? So when I go out of town that the lights come on and cut’s off by it self
I’ve done everything I know of. Local network on. WiFi 2.4 on with phone and device. App works, current plug works (1 that’s connected). The blinking is correct everything’s correct but it keeps saying no internet connection when hooking up to the hotspot ….. any ideas? Bout to throw this thing at the wall….
How much smart outlets/plug and strip use when off. Also I heard that even power off tv and other devices use power but is small compared when they are on. Compared to a TV off and this while off whats the difference in 1 hour?
I have been trying to do this for 3 days---to no avail. I have done everything you said---but it never gets past scan device---and does not complete---can you tell me what i'm doing wrong? Thank you!!! Pleas help!
I have seen a review on Amazon that says you must connect to the plug's WiFi instead of your home internet, and it does actually have its own 'network'. I have tried this and have had no luck, but I thought I would throw it out there
In order to say Alexa turn on the lights do I have to have regular light bulbs or do they have to be smart as well??? And if so where can I get them at??
Omg THANK YOU!!! I nearly sent them back.. I’ve never been so f u c k I n g frustrated trying to set these up.. the instructions they provide are no help what so ever.
I have the KMC WiFi plugs. I set it up in the KMC app. I can’t get to link with Alexa. It was initially then Alexa app showed all devices were unresponsive. I tried reconnecting but now none of my plugs won’t connect to Alexa. I have some plugs that uses the smart life app and those connected to my Alexa easily. Help. I really don’t want to replace all my KMC plugs. 😩
Dude, frustrating. Your video is titled '...Pairing with Alexa', and you blow through that pairing process in about 5 screens in 10 seconds at about the 2:50 mark. I have the Gosund plugs and the Smart Life app, but your 'settings' screen and mine look nothing alike - I see no option to pair with Alexa there.
I had a nightmare experience trying to set up the Meross (not so) Smart Plugs this afternoon. I couldn't get my WiFi to recognize them and they ended up suggesting a whole load of procedures, which would've made the whole thing even more complex. Who needs it? So, easy answer, I packed them up and will be shipping them back to Amazon tomorrow. I have, instead ordered an actual Amazon Smart Plug. At least, that talks directly to the Alexa App. However, I'm beginning to wonder, if it's because I don't have 2.4 WiFi. which may mean that, in short, I'm buggered! 🤣🤣 If the Amazon Plug doesn't work, back it'll go and I'll stick with my trusty old "dial timer!"
Very informative but for those of us who are not as technologically sound, it would be great if you slowed your speech even when glossing over information you might feel is elementary.
That’s because if you cut the power off to your pc it turns off, then if power comes back, it stays off; just like it doesn’t turn back on during a power outage and the power comes back.
Mine had been working until last night when it decided to die on me. I have spent the entire day trying to reconnect it without any luck. It is now in the bin
As convenient as these are when you get them going, they do not seem to last very long. I anticipate that to change over time when the tech gets better.
I guess in the end they are not so smart..............multiple apps and way too many things to do to get it set up even if you are successful. I will just keep walking to the lamp and rotating the off/on switch. Good job though.
2022 - Dec 3 - ALL of my smart plugs using Ios app became offline. Just putting this out there. They were absolutely FINE on December 2. This is why one can't put "all of one's eggs in one basket" so to speak. LOL Frustrating.
These POSs are so freaking flaky. I purchased a 4 pack from Beezosland. Half of them worked for a couple of days and then stopped. Amazon sent me four more, so I now have eight of these suckers. Two have worked consistently. Make that one now. Unless you like constantly rediscovering wireless devices, stay far away. These plugs suuuuuuuuuck.😅
I got my smart plug working but when I try to set it up with alexa it says i need a verification code i put my email address in it says its already used and I can't program it

Oh my gosh I was losing it when the little hand with the extra plug came in around 1:38 hahaha
🤣
Thanks - worked like a charm! Have to remember to refresh so that the new devices show up. Thank you again! 💓
I was watching this video and my Alexa heard you say, "Alexa, turn off the the lights" and it responded 😅😅😂.
Thanks for the help. You were very clear at each step. I was not refreshing the Alexa app after added a plug in the smart life app.

Thank you. Great tutorial with no hiccups whatsoever. 👏
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you love the video now I’m going to attempt to get mine set up.
Good luck!
Can I set this up by using a surge protector cord and what cord is actually plugged into the wall outlet?
Yes

If set timing eg.from 11:00am to 6:00pm will it work daily without phone internet / wifi?
Can a surge protector be ran off one of one of theses?
I wouldn't run a surgery off this!
🤪
Yes, surge protector can be. That's how I've run a lot of my Christmas lights.

hi, many thanks for this video. how can I register with cloud?
Can these be used on multiple phones? I have one for my church and wondering if I could set it up on both my phone and someone else's phone?
Possibly, don't quote me. I think you will have to use one account...like, one login and password.
Had your been missed up before, when it works with the Wi-Fi then stops working?
Mine does.

Is there another app I can use because this just isn’t working out for me ? Please respond.

are the light on the plug alwijs shinning?
Kasa Smart Plug HS103P4, Smart Home Wi-Fi Outlet Works with Alexa
hello, can i use just with the app and no alexa?
Yes!
In order to say Alexa turn on the lights do I have to have regular light bulbs or do they have to be smart as well??? And if so where can I get them at??
Regular works, but so would smart. Remember this is just turning the juice on to the outlet.
How do I reset these. Had power outage ava lost connection to them. Now they only blink slow. Nowhere answers on how to reset them
Thank you this is helpful. The thing that confuses me, is it okay to setup the plugs on the 2.4 whereas our phone and echo is 5 ghz? Thank you 🙏
It sure is!
Do you have to plug anything into the smart plug
During set up? No...afterwards...I assume you would want to have something plugged in.
Hey, hyd? Im having problems when I changed my WiFi name and now it doesn’t find my socket
Thank You
Hmmm so I don’t have 2.4G. Doesn’t seem to want to connect with 5g. Stumped. Suggestions???
You may need different plugs for that.
One of my plug will only turn my lamp off but not on what am I doing wrong
How do you switch the Wi-Fi from 5 to 2.4 GHz?
Go into routers settings and turn 5 gh off
Does this plug work with 220V power line?
My Alexa hears you and she responds.
Thanks for this 👍🏽

can I put an extension cord on smart plug
Sure can
Your video kept interfering with my Alexa- when you’d speak to yours it activated mine to turn out my lights

Did you get it to work? Most routers if not all have 2.4 some older ones don’t have the 5.0 but like I said most have the 2.4
Thank you i have been looking for a vid like this for my gaming set up
My plug stops blinking before the app can find it.
Very informative but for those of us who are not as technologically sound, it would be great if you slowed your speech even when glossing over information you might feel is elementary.
Noted. Thank you for your feedback. This is constructive advice.
Mine randomly disconnect and then seem to be unable to be found by my phone
Mine connected but recently Alexa cannot detect device or turn on off.
The smart app can do that though. Having connectivity issues with these plugs
Me too have you figured out how to make the alexa app say that it is responsive and make it work?
Mine aslo😢😢
"No new devices found". Over and hour trying to connect. Still no go
This product is infuriating!!! Pure garbage. I sent it back. pos!
