Great video but ater days of trying with smart life no luck The problem could be The BT Smart Hub2 on quick set or AP mode Have you heard of problems with this hub?
@john stillman - hi thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊. Are you using a zigbee smart plug by Teckin? I got the WiFi ones because I didn’t want to go through a hub. When I started my smartphone I started with a Samsung SmartThings hub but after that I’ve gotten devices that just work with Google home and don’t require a hub to be connected.
@Elise Longnecker - try turning off the plug, then unplug it and while holding the power button of the plug, plug it back in and keep holding it down until the lights start flashing. This will reset the plug and then try the setup again. This happened to one of my plugs recently and I had to try this multiple times before I got it to work. Hope this helps and I’ll be waiting for your response to see if you got it working 😊
@Elise Longnecker - So sometimes what happens is that it’s reset and actually is in the app it just won’t show for some reason. When I did this with one of my plugs it didn’t show up in the list of devices for a while. So I’d say leave the plug for a bit and refresh the app to see if it shows up. I’ve had this issue as well to where the plug is there it’s just the app that’s not showing it.
@Elaine Jimenez - Hi Elaine first of all thank you for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊. Yes once you’ve got it setup then you can move it to whichever room you like...just make sure to name the plug according to the room so that you don’t get confused. Hope this helps!
I have one of these Teckin sp23 plugs but recently change to a bt hub 2 now I can't connect my plugs to the app it comes with.. I've done all the press 5 seconds stuff so many times but it is not finding the plug. Can you help?
@martynhogarth3286 - I don’t have any experience with their Bluetooth hub. I’ve actually switched to hue plugs simply because of how many hue devices I had. Helps me keep everything in one app.
@Kunal Garg - Yeah sure doesn’t matter. It’s only the plug that requires a 2.4ghz connection. It doesn’t have any relation to the way your phone Is setup 😊. Hope this helps and thanks for watching I really appreciate it 🙏🏽😊
@@sammyperez2151 yeah it’s not gonna work with the ps4. This is only good for things that have an on/off system that you can leave on but have the socket turn on/off instead. Like in the case of a lamp...with systems since they totally shutdown there’s no way to have it work unfortunately.

Hey Ken I haven’t had this issue before :/ but the app has been updated multiple times so that could be the reason it’s having some trouble connecting. Have you tried deleting and reinstalling the app on your phone? Sometimes that does the trick. Hope this helps!
2official - if you got it from Amazon it’s the WiFi plug. Did you select socket WiFi one from the app? Because otherwise if you select the wrong kind it won’t work. Also when you plug it in make sure that blue light is on, on the plug.

Can I change the wifi on my phone to 5ghz after setting up the plugs and still be able to control the devices connected via the plugs?

Close out google home and open it again it should show. Sometimes takes a while for it to populate
