This whole "universe" is the definition of a car accident in slow motion. While the first Venom I felt wasn't too bad, it was still limited by the studio's insistence to have the character be a fun anti hero, rather than the charismatic and vicious killer we know from the comics. And of course instead of actually improving from the first and taking criticism, they doubled down on their bullshit, and are now bleeding time and money to keep dreaded corpse of a franchise alive.

A solo Venom series is completely viable, but we would need at least two movies featuring him as a villain and supporting character: An origin as a villain in a Spider-Man movie, and then maybe a little later down the line bring him back for a Maximum Carnage team-up. ONLY THEN can a solo movie even be considered, he needs to be established first as a villain and then as an anti-hero, and he needs Spider-Man. The thing about the Venom movies we got is that we basically got the fully developed version of him as an anti-hero, without having him go through the process to get there. Also i still hate that he is two characters, the symbiote should not speak unless it's some kind of nightmare or inner dialogue.

Because Marvel has fallen off pretty hard and that's with over 15 years of gathering an audience; the Sony verse has existed for, what, 6 years, and their best movie was already very polarizing, so they don't even have much of an audience to back their projects. Marvel is stale, and R‐rated superhero stories already exist, so the novelty of that can't even carry Sony either. They'd have to make an actually great movie for that to work; at that point, you might as well say "Sony should make good movies, instead of bad ones".
I think what's most sad/shameful is how soulless these movie-makers actually are. Like they think they can gain success by unfaithfully copying what came before them, without any personality, vision, or direction, and that because it's just x = x in their heads, the fans and viewers who they disrespectfully assume can't think or make smart decisions will just eat up whatever they shit out. Yup, Spider-Man 3, though I have some love for it, was where Sony started poisoning Spidey as a whole. That's why Raimi left because they didn't want to let him cook. Had they let Raimi cook, he wanted to save venom for the next trilogy. Spider-Man 4 was gonna have vulture and a Bruce Campbell mysterio cameo. He could've done a montage of spidey taking down lesser known villains like big wheel, stilt man, frog man, rocket racer, chameleon, mysterio, shocker, etc. Then have the true main villain be kingpin as his fisk industries bought oscorp and it's technologies, creating the villains from said montage with hobgoblin as his main enforcer. Spidey takes them down and puts kingpin in jail. Spider-Man 5 could've been where he gets the black suit and has to deal with the sinster six led by kraven the hunter. The others could've been the lizard, scorpion, rhino, vulture, and sandman. The animal villains are being mind controlled by kraven and he has sandman's daughter held hostage so he'd cooperate. So Spider-man 5 is black suit spidey vs the sinster six, then Spider-Man 6 could've been him dealing with venom, Carnage, and the life foundation symbiote team. But, this is all what I would've wanted, with Raimi at the helm. Sony has killed the Spider-man franchise and are holding the corpse hostage and poisoning what remains with bad villain spinoff BS. They need to just give him back to marvel and stick to making electronics, but they won't because they are greedy little pieces of s#%&, who think people love what they put out, it's terrible. He also was responsible for making Galactus a cloud in the 2nd fantastic four movie and denied an R rated Deadpool movie for years. Remember that leaked Deadpool footage that lead to his movie? The problem with Sony's universe is that Spider-Man is missing. He should be the one around whom this universe should be built. Building it around Venom means that he is the central character. But what is it leading to? Venom facing the Sinister Six? Or him joining them? Or even the formation of a Sinister Six? There doesn't seem to be an end goal. On a separate note, while Andrew and Tobey would love to come back to the role of Spider-Man, I think they would rather continue the stories of their respective film series, which I think are on a separate universe and Tom would rather stay in the MCU, because he understands that's part of the appeal of his version.

Venom can work as a standalone character, since Eddie's only real drive to antagonist in the story was his hatred of Peter, taking Peter out of the story means Eddie can be more anti-hero right away, which is what they were going for, so that's alright. It's not quite the Venom we know and love, but it's still A version of Venom, and with a whole Spider-verse, sure there's a Venom out there that didn't originate with Peter, so that's the one we got. It's alright. "Let There be Carnage" is where they really messed up. Carnage should have been a really awesome villain, and he deserved a better story. He also should have survived his movie so that we could have had a "Maximum Carnage" movie or something later on, but unfortunately, "Let There be Carnage" is pretty much the exact same story as Venom's first movie, beat for beat. As for Morbius... well, the action was fun. I haven't even seen Madam Web, and I doubt I will after those reviews. Let's hope Kraven... who am I kidding? Kraven isn't likely to be any better than Morbius.
DIS and Sony should just sue each other. It would be more entertaining and might actually result in something concrete. Half of Madam Web is like a hostage video with an unspoken hostage off stage as the antagonists argue over who gets to keep the winnings.

One thing that I will say about Madame Web: it helped to expose the mindset of the film industry. Sydney Sweeney is already making self-deprecating jokes about the movie. Sony on the other hand is blaming Dakota Johnson for the train wreck. Last year, a book called MCU: The Story of Marvel Studios was published. It was approved by Disney and written by three authors from Marvel Studios. When you get to the chapter on Captain Marvel, these authors proceed to say that sexist nerds were completely at fault for the character, her actress and her movie dying on arrival. The book has aged like milk and it's not even a year old. Both these examples have displayed the fact that Disney and Sony are just as bad as each other. There's no accountability. They'll blame everyone else except themselves.
Sony really could have used Madam Web to introduce not only Spider-Women, but use her character to branch to "Adjacent" Spider-Men like Kane, Ben Reilly, and ultimately be the connection with Toxin in concerns to Venom. The sony spideyverse COULD work. It has a vast number of well known characters, you just need to lean into it the right way. For instance if Spidey himself is off the table then it is time to go for Scarlet Spider, Ben Reilly. It gives you a spider to work with that can dovetail into a spidey team up or remain solo. You start with a scarlet spider film and have him during his days on the road before he returns to NYC for aunt may dying. You can then have him fight some spidey villains who havent been in the movies yet and make them his villains, maybe then spin off a kraven the hunter movie from a scarlet spider movie and keeping with that movies trailer appearing to make him more of a heroic vigilante you make him the son of the original kraven, who in the comics was a kinda good guy, you have them come to blows, team up against a greater threat and then he can have a series of his own hunting down animal themed villains. You could use Kaine, the other clone and make his movies more of a dark punisher esque series. It has a lot of breathing room if you look into it with the insight of a fan and not just to churn out another film.

hi would u like to listen to my approach as to how the multiverse saga shls hv unfolded? I think marvel shld establish 4 major pillars- Avengers, FF, X men and spiderman and then all the other characters kinda revolve around these. i personally believe that when we speak of the MCU now we specifically mean Earth - 1999999. I think that universe is a bit too crowded now. Let the FF be introduced to that universe and take leading role. And then at the same time make audiences invested into 2 other parallel universes in a serious manner. Now here is the catch, one would be spiderman and all the characters that are a part of his entire lore, and the other wld be X- men and all the other characters that are an important part of their lore. No avengers in these universes. U might have some overlap of the minor characters which might be common nd might share variants across these 3 universes. And these 3 universes down the line will in some way collide with each other(metaphorically or even literally). or lets say will become aware of each others existence and will realise that their collective fates are intertwined with each other. now I just have one question, can Sony use Miles Morales as a character and his version of spiderman as of now currently? I went from no interest, to seeing my expectations that it would be bad echoed back to me, to wanting to see it now. What's worse is that the failing numbers, scathing reviews, and consistently negative opinions of the public can't seem to scratch or puncture their narcissism, and they let their tone-deaf egos ride front and center on every response and decision that can be publicly scrutinized.
Hopefully this entertainment bubble pops sooner than later and these fuckos collapse under the weight of the piles of shit they keep dumping into the theaters and we can get back to quality movies from smaller, more mindful teams that get that success is relative to the worker and the vision, not the world and the money.

Yup, Spider-Man 3, though I have some love for it, was where Sony started poisoning Spidey as a whole. That's why Raimi left because they didn't want to let him cook. Had they let Raimi cook, he wanted to save venom for the next trilogy. Spider-Man 4 was gonna have vulture and a Bruce Campbell mysterio cameo. He could've done a montage of spidey taking down lesser known villains like big wheel, stilt man, frog man, rocket racer, chameleon, mysterio, shocker, etc. Then have the true main villain be kingpin as his fisk industries bought oscorp and it's technologies, creating the villains from said montage with hobgoblin as his main enforcer. Spidey takes them down and puts kingpin in jail. Spider-Man 5 could've been where he gets the black suit and has to deal with the sinster six led by kraven the hunter. The others could've been the lizard, scorpion, rhino, vulture, and sandman. The animal villains are being mind controlled by kraven and he has sandman's daughter held hostage so he'd cooperate. So Spider-man 5 is black suit spidey vs the sinster six, then Spider-Man 6 could've been him dealing with venom, Carnage, and the life foundation symbiote team. But, this is all what I would've wanted, with Raimi at the helm. Sony has killed the Spider-man franchise and are holding the corpse hostage and poisoning what remains with bad villain spinoff BS. They need to just give him back to marvel and stick to making electronics, but they won't because they are greedy little pieces of s#%&, who think people love what they put out, it's terrible. Sony is somehow still chasing the cinematic universe trend that came after the Avengers box office success. For some reason they don’t understand that the Sinister Six isn’t a superhero team.
The problem with Sony's universe is that Spider-Man is missing. He should be the one around whom this universe should be built. Building it around Venom means that he is the central character. But what is it leading to? Venom facing the Sinister Six? Or him joining them? Or even the formation of a Sinister Six? There doesn't seem to be an end goal. On a separate note, while Andrew and Tobey would love to come back to the role of Spider-Man, I think they would rather continue the stories of their respective film series, which I think are on a separate universe and Tom would rather stay in the MCU, because he understands that's part of the appeal of his version.

Venom can work as a standalone character, since Eddie's only real drive to antagonist in the story was his hatred of Peter, taking Peter out of the story means Eddie can be more anti-hero right away, which is what they were going for, so that's alright. It's not quite the Venom we know and love, but it's still A version of Venom, and with a whole Spider-verse, sure there's a Venom out there that didn't originate with Peter, so that's the one we got. It's alright. "Let There be Carnage" is where they really messed up. Carnage should have been a really awesome villain, and he deserved a better story. He also should have survived his movie so that we could have had a "Maximum Carnage" movie or something later on, but unfortunately, "Let There be Carnage" is pretty much the exact same story as Venom's first movie, beat for beat. As for Morbius... well, the action was fun. I haven't even seen Madam Web, and I doubt I will after those reviews. Let's hope Kraven... who am I kidding? Kraven isn't likely to be any better than Morbius.
If they would have used her beauty like UA-camrs use her for their thumbnails, then the movie wouldnt have tanked

And also, Tom Holland’s version is overrated imo and too childish. I’d love Andrew to be Sony’s Spider-Man in a darker more serious universe not afraid to do more adult projects. But they would need good writers and directors and not interfere. Hire real fans. Give real fan full creative freedom. I don’t want them to be too restrictive in telling comic book/superhero stories. We’ve seen the typical Spider-Man formula over and over. We need some different stories based on his mythos and characters, just not the trash Sony has been putting out. Also, I can care less for the MCU and Disney too! I just want good stories, and if they aren’t going to do that and also just stick to paint by numbers formulas and same demographic of family/kid friendly for everyone clitche blockbusters then I’m just going to not care and not bother. Just to be clear, I’m not saying everything needs to be rated R and dark, but PG-13 is now just the equivalent of a PG. Nothing. A nothing rating. Echo from Disney was also TV-MA but in name only and was basically a PG-13 in disguise. False advertising. Also, they said it didn’t matter for you to had watched other stuff to understand it, but it literally tied itself to the Hawkeye show she appeared in. So…. Yeah. Disney lies that they aren’t prioritizing a shared universe and instead let projects stand alone even if it’s set in the same universe and casuals can watch it. What BS!
I'm actually excited for Kraven since it's directed by J. C. Chandor known for Margin Call and All Is Lost. I haven't been to a theater in 5 years but I'm definitely going to see it since J. C. Chandor is directing it.

One thing that I will say about Madame Web: it helped to expose the mindset of the film industry. Sydney Sweeney is already making self-deprecating jokes about the movie. Sony on the other hand is blaming Dakota Johnson for the train wreck.
Last year, a book called MCU: The Story of Marvel Studios was published. It was approved by Disney and written by three authors from Marvel Studios. When you get to the chapter on Captain Marvel, these authors proceed to say that sexist nerds were completely at fault for the character, her actress and her movie dying on arrival.
The book has aged like milk and it's not even a year old.
Both these examples have displayed the fact that Disney and Sony are just as bad as each other. There's no accountability. They'll blame everyone else except themselves.
Sony really could have used Madam Web to introduce not only Spider-Women, but use her character to branch to "Adjacent" Spider-Men like Kane, Ben Reilly, and ultimately be the connection with Toxin in concerns to Venom. They also should have made the Spider-Girls already established. We know the story. SHOW us what makes them all unique like Spider-Verse did.

The sony spideyverse COULD work. It has a vast number of well known characters, you just need to lean into it the right way. For instance if Spidey himself is off the table then it is time to go for Scarlet Spider, Ben Reilly. It gives you a spider to work with that can dovetail into a spidey team up or remain solo. You start with a scarlet spider film and have him during his days on the road before he returns to NYC for aunt may dying. You can then have him fight some spidey villains who havent been in the movies yet and make them his villains, maybe then spin off a kraven the hunter movie from a scarlet spider movie and keeping with that movies trailer appearing to make him more of a heroic vigilante you make him the son of the original kraven, who in the comics was a kinda good guy, you have them come to blows, team up against a greater threat and then he can have a series of his own hunting down animal themed villains. You could use Kaine, the other clone and make his movies more of a dark punisher esque series. It has a lot of breathing room if you look into it with the insight of a fan and not just to churn out another film.

I had SUCH a good attitude before madam web dropped, I was just happy to finally have a spider person fighting all these "villains". Then we got that garbage. Literally all they have to do is use a spider person, whoever! Miles, Gwen, Jessica, or even the ones they used in the movie! I just don't understand why they wouldn't have the spider girls actually using their powers, instead of some crap origin story. And as far as the villains go, they really need to stop trying to make them anti-heroes and just make them sympathetic villains. People LOVE shows like Narcos, Breaking Bad, The Sopranos, etc. And most of the main characters of those shows are lovable, yet irredeemable jerks. This whole universe COULD have worked, and even been just as good as MCU. Lovable villains vs some Spider person. Could make a Spider person as the antagonist for a few movies, have the villains escape, or win for a day. Only to ultimately be stopped by Spider-person... Why Sony? Why do you hate success?

hi would u like to listen to my approach as to how the multiverse saga shls hv unfolded? I think marvel shld establish 4 major pillars- Avengers, FF, X men and spiderman and then all the other characters kinda revolve around these. i personally believe that when we speak of the MCU now we specifically mean Earth - 1999999. I think that universe is a bit too crowded now. Let the FF be introduced to that universe and take leading role. And then at the same time make audiences invested into 2 other parallel universes in a serious manner. Now here is the catch, one would be spiderman and all the characters that are a part of his entire lore, and the other wld be X- men and all the other characters that are an important part of their lore. No avengers in these universes. U might have some overlap of the minor characters which might be common nd might share variants across these 3 universes. And these 3 universes down the line will in some way collide with each other(metaphorically or even literally). or lets say will become aware of each others existence and will realise that their collective fates are intertwined with each other.
now I just have one question, can Sony use Miles Morales as a character and his version of spiderman as of now currently? Since u mentioned above that if they have currently liscenced the rights of Spiderman to marvel so they themselves cannot use it. Hope u find this comment interesting wld love to hear your feedback.

I went from no interest, to seeing my expectations that it would be bad echoed back to me, to wanting to see it now. I went from having no intention watching it ever, to watching it eventually just to now go see for myself how entertainingly bad it actually is.

This "Spider-Man Cinematic Universe" is so damn perplexing because not only are the movies so disconnected from one another that they could exist in their own universes but the fact that this "Spider-Verse" has NO Spider-Man makes it hard to take this universe seriously and wonder what the hell Sony thought in creating it and what exactly was their "plan" for this? Not helping is that it has been 6 years and we only had FOUR movies so far while MCU had ten movies which makes it seem like Sony didn't give a damn about this project and only did just to get money without putting any effort into the universe.

I would say they don't know how to make a movie with what people want they just get lucky sometimes and that to varying degrees and it just appears that they know what to do satisfy moviegoers, sure they can make a movie but can they make a movie consisting of what people actually want which is part of why sequels don't usually work or at least aren't as successful as their previous movies.
