I can't believe not many people like this song😞 I am so blessed that I was born in 1971, the 80's genre was the best EVER!! What has happened to music these days? I loved me Depeche Mode and Duran Duran. So many great bands in the 80's. I am an 80's girl through and through😉

Whenever OMD released a 12" remix you always knew it was great. They added something special while still being true to the original version.

OMD was THE SHEE-ITE! They came out in 80 right before Depeche Mode with MESSAGES. Following in the footsteps of TELEVISION and KRAFTWERK, they pretty much carved out a nice name for themselves with hits like SECRET and SO IN LOVE. Followed by the music they did for PRETTY IN PINK (1986). Not too shabby, eh? Cementing themselves forever in the annals of New Wave muzik.
Their debut single was actually called 'Electricity', which was released in 1978 on the UK independent label Factory Records.
While it failed it hit the charts, it has instead become a much loved cult classic ever since. I recommend that you give it a listen on UA-cam. I'm sure you'll love it just as much as I do.
That song is also included on each of their Greatest Hits compilations, which are: 'The Best Of' (1988), 'The OMD Singles' (1998), 'Messages: The Greatest Hits' (2008) and 'Souvenir: The Singles Collection' (2019).
However, their first Top 20 chart hit 'Messages' wasn't released until two years later. That's another great track from them.
OMD have put out lots of great singles and albums throughout their stellar forty five year career.

Unfortunately, it wasn't a big hit for them and only got to No54 in the UK charts in November 1986.
Presumably, OMD will only play their biggest hits in their concerts, 'Live' favourites, as well as any new material they have in order to promote their most recent album projects.
