Any guy that managed to earn millions on the street operating through the 80’s alongside the old school heavyweights of that era ie Chin Fat Tony etc who then lost it all went to jail came out and then become a millionaire a second time around from scratch is definitely worthy of respect and recognition in my eyes . An extremely intelligent man.

People can say what they like about him, but one will have to admit, he's kind of a genius. He ran circles around a lot of guys in the mob, now that he's out of that life, he's run circles around plenty of people out here as well. Has he used his mob life experience to his advantage?..he sure has and has been extremely successful with it. He's a pretty unique guy, like him or not he's got to be credited with great success and has turned his life around 180 degrees and has made the most of it. Great video Jeff, another banger for sure.

Just found your channel and subscribed. Awesome content on all things mafia, including a lot of information I did not know.
People always seem to rip on franzese. He was one of the smarter ones as he was able to leave omertà with his life and some of the money he made. He never did any significant amount of time in prison either, and is not in witness protection. Not saying he’s a great guy, but definitely one of the smarter gangsters to live the life.

JoJo Vitacco was a very close friend of my dad... On Fridays as a kid, my Mom would drive to Jojo's bar on Grand St. in Williamsburg and we'd pick my Dad up (I'd run in to get him) after he left his bar in the Village... Him and JoJo would always be at the far end of the bar... My Dad sitting and JoJo standing facing the door... He had a huge white German Shepard 24/7 in the bar... JoJo always told me, that my father was the only person allowed to sit behind him in a car... Dad always sent Sonny cartons of Kools when he was away... He didn't smoke but used them to give out in prison

With so many adopted children does every child needs to be told forever that this was not your real father? Why does it matter? Does this make him a lesser human being? What does this prove? @TheSir2005 Рік тому +1

From what i figured out over the years of following Franzese is that he was made in 76 or 77, fits most of the stories he tells himself and his brother (John Jr) said that Michael told him everything when he turned 16 right after Michael became made. But that conflicts with other stories like Miciotta has told in his 302's.
He was first a acting capo for his father when he was released in 78 and became officially a capo in 81 but the more you look into the story of Franzese the more conflicting stories you run into.
Like there's a tape from 86 where Gotti, Galizia, DeCicco and others talk about Michael, how he cant come to New York anymore and has to stay in California.
From that you can conclude he was shelved after his plea deal but then again there are stories after 86 that Michael still had cloud and was in gen pop in Terminal Island with made guys, until he was released after he signed a one year cooperation agreement in May 1989. You have to wonder why he signed that thing cause he was already going to be out soon.
Nothing makes sense whats out there about the guy, the only real conclusion you can make is that the guy is a con artist through and through, he played everybody. I mean if you can have two district attorneys biggering who's at fault than you are a real one.
So yeah there's still a lot of missing information about his story.

I also found it strange that Persico gave up going after Micheal and dropped the subject.
Persico was still alive when Franzesse was doing his interviews... and Persico was not mad at him.
I think Franzese paid his way out, it would not be that difficult; Franzese had contacts in the Colombos.
People he knew would not shoot him first and ask questions later.
After the 3rd Colombo War and Alli Boy jr arrest, maybe Carmine Persico's coffers were light and his personal family was struggling financially with the 2 main bread makers in jail for life.
10 million of untraced money maybe would make Carmine Persico forget Franzese.
Like famous informant Carmine Lombardozzi in the Gambinos, who paid his way out of hit.

MAFIA is an acronym from the French invasion of Sicily in 1282. It stands for Morte Alla Francia Italia Anela (Death to the French is Italy's cry). There is, therefore, no such thing as the MAFIA in the present day. It has become a generic term for organised criminals, Italian-American Mafia, Sicilian Mafia, Russian Mafia, Albanian Mafia, etc etc.

In the U.S. they don’t call it “mafia”.They call it La Cosa Nostra. It’s to separate them from Italy.

@@RamsLakersDodgers The families themselves don't call themselves Mafia, you're correct. Cosa Nostra (Our Thing) is indeed the term used, but other people, mainly civilians, still use the term Mafia. The made men/wiseguys hate it. When The Godfather movies were made, the families insisted that the term Mafia was not to be used in the dialogue, and I believe that this has happened with other mob related entertainments, including The Sopranos.

126 episodes. And every single one of them is a classic.
Iv no doubt in my mind the extreme intelligence of Michael.
    A very smart man.
    Great business man.
But I think there’s a lot of holes in his story.
I’d like to know also how high up in the masons he was in the 80s.
    Maybe some strings were pulled
    🤷🏻‍♂️
Keep up the good work Jeff.

Do you know if Micheal Milken had any involvement in the creation of the gas tax. I wrote that it was Micheal Milken who was the creator. I kept trying to figure it, I was thinking about it & trying to remember different things Ive heard. I wrote it was Milken based on this video I was sent a couple of years back. It was Micheal Franzese, he was walking & in midstride Franzese turned into Milken, at least that's what I saw & that's what I thought I saw. Probably a year went by since I saw the video & one day less then a year ago I wrote to Micheal Milken & asked him, I wrote to Franzese & told him my theory that it was Milken that created it. I also once had a theory that it was this group of Irish guys from the streets of Philly who also worked on Capitol Hill with connections to the highest levels of govt all the way to the Gipper himself. Maybe your correct about the guy you said created it & maybe I'm somewhat correct in that this group of Irish guys getting it done at that level & maybe I'm also somewhat correct that Micheal Milken wrote & created it for Micheal Franzese . I'm not sure, don't know the details but wasn't Milken some kind of big shot Wallstreet guy who was great at 3card Monte & able to use slide of hand up until he reached into his magic to pull a rabbit out & got the cuffs slapped on him.

@Jeff Nadu….I must say Jeff, you really did a fantastic job looking into Michael’s history, very well explained. This is why I say your podcast is the best one out there, there’s no bullshitting coming out of you, just all facts and it’s all done professionally. 👍👍👍👍
