Jeff, when you're on point and don't go off the rails fighting with trolls, your shows are top notch excellent. This episode was a home run. Very professionally well done.
I was working on 64th Street in Middle Village, Queens in 2016 near Massino's CasaBlanca Restaurant. I found it strange that although it was closed, the sign and the facade was still there. It didn't look much different than what you see in the old surveillance photos. Excellent video again Jeff, thanks for your research. I work on the road and appreciate content that is entertaining and informative
Hi Jeff I’m glad I found you here I listened to you episode today and you are accurately organized on point! I’m might BLOW your mind right now BUT I’m the daughter of Dominick (BIG TRIN) Trinchera I was at the Joey Massino trial to watch him get sentenced for killing my dad 😢 All these years later my story about my dad still lives memories never Die ❤❤❤
What Joe did for the bonano family turned a total family from a total mess into a slick money making machine I can see why he flipped at sea world a boss should never turn
We were all wrong, everyone was saying Joe Massino was in Florida old age home, but Newsday article said he lived in Ohio and died in a hospital in NYC surounded by his family.
@@thesitdownwithjeffnadu the article from Anthony DeStefano's Newsday article said different, they saying he lived in Ohio, not Florida and died in NYC.
For a time Joe rejuvenated the Bonanno family fortunes and made it a cohesive unit. He could be very ruthless as with the three capo's hit. Law enforcements relentless march forced his hand and he became a pathetic rat. Lesson is be a plumber, 😊
@Jeff Nadu…..This was a great video & tribute to The Ear, Joey Massino & one of the greatest mob bosses during his reign as the leader of the Bonanno Family, and yes I’m going to say it, a way better mob boss than John Gotti was & Gotti was a good boss but Joey had way more on top than John did…..And just to get this straight, Joe Massino was not afraid to do the time, he knew there was risks of being a boss of a family, it was the Death Penalty that caught him off guard and other things like the Government wanting to take his money/ assets away from his wife and daughters & leave them without nothing!! Joey knew he was a beaten man & had no other choice. In Joe’s mind, what was more important to him, his legacy or his wife & daughters?? That’s my 2cents……
I sat with my uncle at Casablanca with my uncle and Massino and left them alone after 5 minutes to go outside and leave them alone-my uncle went way back with him when they were getting trucks-he was rolling in his grave when Joe ratted -im from Vernon Blvd and know what's what
He was one of the best bosses of thw last 50 years imo along with the Chin. Im not sure if any of the great bosses of the past woulda took old sparky for the life either. Bonanno and his son ran to Arizona in fear of their lives and Costello stepped down after the botched hit so who knows
At the end of the day he's a rat,you can say what you want about Carmine Gallate but he never rated took his time on the chin and never folded, when you think about that crime family Carmine was the man
Great vid. Regarding Galante vs. Rastelli as Boss, it seems like the Commission recognised Rastelli as boss, but most people inside the family recognised Galante as boss. So it depends what you take to be the "official" line. If you look at the American mafia overall, I think Rastelli was boss, because the Commission is the ultimate arbiter to the whole network. But, if you give weight to who was actually calling the shots inside the family, then it was Galante (confirming that, Joe Pistone/Donnie Brasco also refers to Galante as the boss, until later on in the story). If you compare it to a country, it's a bit like a situation where there is a coup and a new President takes over the country, but the rest of the world still recognises the original guy as President. At the UN or other international bodies, the new guy won't get a seat. But domestically, he is running things. Using international law terminology (I have a masters degree in that), I would say Rastelli was De Jure (or lawful) boss, while Galante was De Facto boss.
Ive got a friend that always says the Bonannos are his favourite family. Although he has a bad habit of getting a bit too obsessed with the more nutty mobsters. Galante, Scarfo, Spilotro etc. Though he always says his favorite mobster is Joe Bonnano. Just thought id drop that in while catching up on this episode. Styling n profiling as usual my man. 👍
Galante was not the boss Rastelli was the commission picked rusty galante was the unofficial boss that’s why rusty got the ok too kill him massino and rastelli were really close that’s why he was bumped up so fast
I agree Jeff Bonnano and Philly my favorite family. Tired of Gambino family and Gotti. Gotti worse boss ever beside Massino being boss and cooperating.
Jeff, when you're on point and don't go off the rails fighting with trolls, your shows are top notch excellent. This episode was a home run. Very professionally well done.
I never do that though.
Bro thanks all the way from London England topnotch
Your only one who talks Philly which I appreciate.
Great overview Jeff. Where can I find Joe's testimony?

I know we're discussing a mobster here, one that turned as well, but what you said at the end was quite touching. Professionalism at its best 👌.
Hey Jeff that was another good one! I actually met Joe twice in Maspeth queens! Always informative and very well put together!
Jeff great show. Joe massino was also one of my favorites to read about.
We were all wrong, everyone was saying Joe Massino was in Florida old age home, but Newsday article said he lived in Ohio and died in a hospital in NYC surounded by his family.

Is there any reason you left out the killing of Vito Borelli and Joseph 'Do Do Pastore in circa 1976?
