For all those asking, no it isn't Austin in the pictures. It's Jerry Roush who was his fill in while Austin had surgery and then replaced him. Also, the reason most people hate Jerry is because he bad mouthed Austin and called him a pussy etc during a performance of second and sebring. People tend to also forget that Shayley said in an interview how Jerry destroyed him mentally and emotionally, which /probably/ triggered the depression that caused him to leave. That (among other reasons) is why he's called Jerry Douche by most.
not everyone just got into of mice and men in 2014, what most people dont know is Jerry kept this band alive by being their vocalist, if they didnt keep touring they would have fizzled out, and Jerrys band goes harder than of mice but god knows you dont even know the name of that band, stop believing bullshit and get your facts straight
It kills me that all these scene kids are more concerned about Austin not being in any of the pictures rather than just listening to the song and enjoying it. Austin doesn't care if you see him or how much you love him. He just cares if you dig his music.
Ghxst. Facke. I never said that. You were bashing him for stating his opinion as if he thought of it as a fact. Someone shouldn't have to state it's their opinion when you can clearly tell it is one.
Dookie Shnoogans Start at 2:15. "No wind, this sound" I know that's not really a low, like how others do it, but I just wish they had more of those and longer instead of just a couple of seconds.
2:15 Wow, Austin went really low there. Probably the lowest he's ever gone. Anyone else think that sounded like Mike Hranica? Lol. Anyways, favorite band. Fantastic song. Definitely by far the most fun live!
I still get those chills @ 1:00- So real.. I'll do the right thing, but rules will be broken in half *if they get in my way. I will always respect them. Simple as this stuff was.
@ Dude fr, I like some of those lower tunings but I do feel like it’s starting to become a little too much nowadays, Ain’t nothing wrong with playing in Higher tunings, shit me and my band have a song in Drop D#, and mean the high D# not D#1
Basically it’s Drop D but half a step higher than usual so Drop D# and then we made another song a full step higher than Drop D so Drop E, both these songs were just experiments in higher tunings but my band ended liking them and wanted to keep them that way at least for the recording, for live we’re gonna play them in regular Drop D.
@@raydog_97 That's cool, I played in a band with Drop D# too like 10 years ago, it's so pretty a sound and feel. Now for like 8 years I've played with a variation of double drop F with 7 string so, FCGCFAC and I love it. But for the past year I've gone back to switching between Drop C, A and A# because the djent is pouring out my ears
Hellyeah, that’s pretty much where I’m at most times but for me it’s G, A, B, and C. G is the lowest Tuning I have and honestly I don’t think I’m gonna go any lower than that, maybe F# if I get another baritone guitar. I do have A# C# and D but I don’t use them as much as I use the rest unless I’m in the mood to use em. Most times what I do for songs that are in D and C# is play them in C instead. It’s the same with any songs in A# I’ll play them in A instead. Now G# is a tuning I actually don’t have but it’s also one I don’t care for too much lol if there’s any G# songs I know I’ll just play em in G lol but G# it is a cool tuning tho.
2009-2012 was kind of the end of what was actually a pretty decent era in the genre, right before copy and paste bands like Woe, Is Me took over the scene. You could definitely see that "Risecore" trend developing during those years, but there were a lot of bands making some great music. OM&M, MMF, TDWP, MMI, Enter Shikari, Oh Sleeper, Outline In Color, BMTH even returned to form with Sempiternal. The only band in the scene who is still making compelling music is Dance Gavin Dance, and I feel that they have cemented themselves as one of, if not _the_ greatest post-hardcore bands of all time.
@@owomuwu DGD is by far the greatest and most consistent band in post-hardcore history. 100%. The Rise-core (then the good bands transition to) butt rock trend just totally killed the scene for sure. Also the first WIM album was good I think. Also one modern band that puts out compelling and quality stuff is Currents, I'd give them a listen man!
@@MattDeezly I very firmly believe Dance Gavin Dance will be remembered as one of the greatest bands of our generation. In my mind, they have transcend post-hardcore and I can only hope that someday they receive the mainstream adoration they deserve. Funnily enough, I have also used the phrase "the greatest and most consistent post-hardcore band of all time" to describe DGD ad nauseam lmao. I don't know, man. I could rant about DGD's legacy all day lol. I'll admit that I haven't given WIM's first LP a proper listen in, like, 7 years now (woah time is weird), maybe I'll revisit it. The other day I decided to check out the post-hardcore subreddit just to see what's happening in the scene these days, and I saw A LOT of Currents there. I've been meaning to give them a try since then so thank you for reminding me to do that haha.

Dang. I miss this sound.

I'm only 93 and I love this song

no way!! what a taste of music u have there.

if you are that old you should put some 'as I lay dying' on to set the mood
This band was phenomenal with Austin on vocals. 🎤
Agreed

Josh Simmons sky eats air plane rocked the house in the 518. back in like 2008 2009 it was a minute ago
Josh Simmons
Glass Cloud is shit, mate. Sky Eats Airplane was just another shitty electronicore band too.
Santiago Reyes Glass Cloud is far from shit m8, but you saying that says alot bout your taste

***** Your opinion, Not a fact. Just because you feel like they don't anymore doesn't mean they don't, You aren't the final decision on OM&M.
Ghxst. Facke. yess!!
Ghxst. Facke. it was his opinion, no need for your comment..

Thumbs up if you wish Austin Carlile would growl more like he does in this song!
Landon Ellerd Austin is growling while usine Fry Screams, and It's so fucking dangerous for vocal cords, that's why he never did this again
Hi Landon, my name is Landon too.
Consider his heart ❤️
@@Anthony-rd6zu has nothing to do with the technique, its cuz of his Marfan Syndrome.
Miss Austin as the vocalist. Happy he's living healthy and having a positive effect in the world. 2020 and this song is still a banger.
I SAID I'D FIGHT BACK, I DIDN'T SAY THAT I'D FIGHT FAIR! By far their best song!
That riff at 1:33 is godly.

The best song off this record!
OM&M is the shit.

10 years later still true
I love their songs, but this has to be my top favorite
I said I'd fight back... I didn't say that I'd fight fair!
Fight there*
It's fight fair...
Youre damn right! Whip that chair out on that bitch!!!
If OM&M had like 3-4 songs in each Album that has lows in it, I think they would be the best Metalcore band.
Where do you hear the low screams? I just hear highs
Dookie Shnoogans Start at 2:15. "No wind, this sound"
I know that's not really a low, like how others do it, but I just wish they had more of those and longer instead of just a couple of seconds.
+Commander Swagvala. Okay I see what you're talkin about
It's hard to do low screams with fry screaming, as that puts a heavier strain on the vocal chords and it hurts
this was the best at the time
loving the double kick in this :D
2:15 Wow, Austin went really low there. Probably the lowest he's ever gone. Anyone else think that sounded like Mike Hranica? Lol.

haha I thought the same.. I was waiting for the guitar riff from a prophecy, but it never came ^^

By these bloody waters, mark my words
Come on
Alright, I want you all to clap along and sing with me
When I said I'd fight back, I didn't say that I'd fight fair
I said I'd fight back, I didn't say that I'd fight fair
I said I'd fight back, I didn't say that I'd fight fair
I said I'd fight back, I didn't say that I'd fight fair
Salt your eyes
Sleep with all the fishes
The waves start the flood that's drowning yourself
Broken, then we'll salt your eyes
No wind, this sound

Back down, stop drifting away
Come back, come back, it's all you can take
We'll pour salt in your eyes
