Exactly! I was at the tail end of it. 25 yrs old atm but I was able to hit Warped Tour in 2014 and experience some of this iconic Era luckily. Wish it would come back or go back in time
Ayyy I snuck in at the tail end of it too 2014 was my first of 5 Warped Summers. I even went to the final day of the final full cross country run in West Palm Beach, FL @@DontMatter7
@@Nickr3000im 28, went to my first warped tour in 2011. Went to probably 7 of them in total, including the final one in pittsburgh. Always went to the Pittsburgh dates. I got to see some truly amazing shit. Meet some truly amazing people. Ill never forget warped tour for as long as i live.
the clean vocals in this genre are better than any music on the planet. Imagine if bands like this made whole songs singing vs just the last track of their albums. These bands are the best musicians on the planet.
I remember jamming this all the time back in 2010 and 2011. I listen to this album simply for the nostalgia now. I still like it, but it just seems like a part of my memory now. I miss 7th grade.
That's something I've always found both sad and fascinating about music. Its transition from being a "current" song for you, to being just part of a memory that you revisit.
+Artist Culture There is no way to over play these first two albums if they didn't real ease restoring force they would of still been my favorite band Austin and shayley along with jaxin make for such an awesome band not saying i hate alan but they are a lot tighter live with jaxin shay and phil on strings
***** I wont force her to like them. I respect all of my friends opinions and beliefs. I was just surprised she liked Black Veil Brides and not Of Mice & Men.
When this first came out, I thought it would make a great music video... I still think it would be a great music video. Is it just me? Tino's drumming was fucking amazing, especially the end. Phil outdid himself as well. I think the only reason this doesn't have as many views is because everyone's just listening to the more over-exposed songs by OM&M like Second & Sebring, This One's For You, and more recently, You're Not Alone, etc, and they don't take the time to listen to each song in previous albums.
this happens to be my favorite song, i listen to it every day and i was hoping when they first released the album that they would make a video for this one but sadly they did not.. so i have dealt with seeing Jerry Roush every time i listen to one of my favorite songs
2024 n def agree .. this album has some of the best shit they ever dropped.. ydg, they don’t call it the south for no reason , farewell to shady glade , seven thousand miles for what..
Oliver-Vic Carquinn Haha, even on "Stick Stickly" I managed to imitiate the synth to "TUTUTUTUTUTUTU" or "DUMDUDMDUMUDMUDUMDUM". I'm basically everywhere. Check out the songs he did on "Mishead Lyrics", I basically post what I can
4 years later and this song STILL doesn't have near the views that their newer, toned down way better version of this album has. Logic, what was that again?! -.-
Honestly, the song is easy and fun to play guitar. Most Of Mice songs aren't hard, and there's lots of room to write my own lead parts or solos while playing them. I love how creative they've always been though, one of my all time favorite bands. Lots of love for them, always!
2021 and to me, this song is still on par with classical masterpieces. This song needs to be preformed in opera or orchestra. Every time I listen I am astonished.
1:43 Valentino Ortega plays a fill right there that when I first ever heard it i did so from watching the studio vlogs theyd post while recording this album with Joey Sturgis, listen to it a few times back and you'll realize how fucking sick it is, its not necessarily super technical or complex or super fast, just super unique, its as though he had wrote a fill that would be played on the kick snare and toms but then moved the parts for the toms to his hi hats and cymbals, hes always been such a kick ass fuckin drummer. Man I wish these guys were today lineup wise as they were when they recorded this album... they really had some gems talent wise for the scene that they were in.
That fill at 1:43 that’s almost all cymbals hi hats and the ride is such a unique and dope sounding addition to that breakdown. In one of their old studio vlogs there’s footage of Tino recording it and I remember seeing/hearing it that first time and just being like wait wtf that was incredible. Especially at a time when so many of the bands in this scene sounded very similar it was something that really shown through.
I'm not very partial to the screaming, but the part that begins at 0:43 is what drew me to this song. This band has really talented vocals, and I wish they would utilize that more instead of the screams :l
What I would give to have either of their vocals.... Shayleys cleans.... Are just wow. Amazing. & Austin Carlile screams like no other. It's too bad shay left. They were both amazing vocalist.
Just been reading multiple articles on the drama between Austin, Jerry, Attack Attack! and a bunch of other people. I seriously don't know who to believe at this point. I'm a confuzzled panda right now.
A time capsule of a bygone era. Those who weren’t around in this scene will never, ever understand.
It was never a phase- it’s a lifestyle. ♥️🙏🏽
Exactly! I was at the tail end of it. 25 yrs old atm but I was able to hit Warped Tour in 2014 and experience some of this iconic Era luckily. Wish it would come back or go back in time
came out when i was 13, im 27 and still one of my fav songs. that chorus just does something to me
Ayyy I snuck in at the tail end of it too 2014 was my first of 5 Warped Summers. I even went to the final day of the final full cross country run in West Palm Beach, FL @@DontMatter7

This is the best song they ever made
Agreed
Preference
mehh second and sebring and then this
I feel like Shay always gave emotion to every song he sang with OM&M and Dayshell now, but he made every song special
The most beautiful clean vocal chorus i've heard
you would love dayshell. ITs a separate band from the clean vocalist Shayley Bourget.
Ayush Gour thx for your recomendation :D
Agreed. Shayley is the best clean vocalist PERIOD
the clean vocals in this genre are better than any music on the planet. Imagine if bands like this made whole songs singing vs just the last track of their albums. These bands are the best musicians on the planet.
2024, still head banging to this heavy ass song
Yeah, it's still one of my favorite songs!
On the daily
2024 still YDG'n
I remember jamming this all the time back in 2010 and 2011. I listen to this album simply for the nostalgia now. I still like it, but it just seems like a part of my memory now. I miss 7th grade.

Put away the pills come waste away with me. That sentence is pure beauty.
especially when it comes after a line such as “shut those legs girl, it’s closing time”
This album, although I overplayed both of the first 2, will never get old man.
+Artist Culture There is no way to over play these first two albums if they didn't real ease restoring force they would of still been my favorite band Austin and shayley along with jaxin make for such an awesome band not saying i hate alan but they are a lot tighter live with jaxin shay and phil on strings
Restoring force is incredible as well i wont stand for this slander
Probably my favorite song by OM&M.
How can one even compete with this greatness
They can't.
When my friend said she didn't like Of Mice & Men, I was like: "The lord is testing me -.-"
***** I wont force her to like them. I respect all of my friends opinions and beliefs. I was just surprised she liked Black Veil Brides and not Of Mice & Men.
Miyuki Yoshida bvb and OM&M have different styles
Hezerion yeah styles are bvb blows n om&m dont , also bvb is emo as fuck
Cs Barbarian doesn't

ive always been obsessed with this song
Forever my favorite song by Of Mice. I miss this.
absolutely the best OM&M song!!
Possibly the most legendary chorus I've heard in years.
Will always be my fav in their self-titled album. NOSTALGIC.
When this first came out, I thought it would make a great music video... I still think it would be a great music video. Is it just me?

I agree 100%
this happens to be my favorite song, i listen to it every day and i was hoping when they first released the album that they would make a video for this one but sadly they did not.. so i have dealt with seeing Jerry Roush every time i listen to one of my favorite songs
Definitely would be a great music video!!!
They wont make videos for old songs :( makes me sad.. i wish they mad this video before they made the video for Those in Glass Houses
2024 n def agree .. this album has some of the best shit they ever dropped.. ydg, they don’t call it the south for no reason , farewell to shady glade , seven thousand miles for what..
Good times listening to this undergrad. Oh faithful...
2:45 - 3:15 BEST PART OF THE SONG. My favorite OM&M song
Dayshell former of mice & men ua-cam.com/video/kgGxos8RFLM/v-deo.html
That breakdown is fucking brutal.
Oliver-Vic Carquinn lol hey and yeah basically I'm everywhere in the metalcore scene
Oliver-Vic Carquinn Haha, even on "Stick Stickly" I managed to imitiate the synth to "TUTUTUTUTUTUTU" or "DUMDUDMDUMUDMUDUMDUM". I'm basically everywhere. Check out the songs he did on "Mishead Lyrics", I basically post what I can
Adam Artz you want to hear brutal breakdowns? Listen to AngelMaker

I’m pretty you mean 2:20
In computer class high school on grooveshark first song I found and was hooked🔥🔥🔥
This song got me into this band, my friend play this song at cyber cafe while im smoking outside, ahh nostalgia
The best Of Mice & Men song... bar none.
4 years later and this song STILL doesn't have near the views that their newer, toned down way better version of this album has. Logic, what was that again?! -.-
Brittany Tucker how do you think I feel looking at this in 2019
Millz Rodrick and me in 2020
Man brings back memories of High School. Good times and vibes OM&M brought 🤘🏻
This song still gives me chills
This album made summer of 2010 one of the best of my youth.
Honestly, the song is easy and fun to play guitar. Most Of Mice songs aren't hard, and there's lots of room to write my own lead parts or solos while playing them. I love how creative they've always been though, one of my all time favorite bands. Lots of love for them, always!
songs 8 & 9 back to back are pure bliss
This was always such a good album. The drums at the end is just phenomenal
2021 and to me, this song is still on par with classical masterpieces. This song needs to be preformed in opera or orchestra. Every time I listen I am astonished.
This came up on my shuffle this morning, I forgot how god damn good this song is
YOUR SILLY SAUCE PAN OF WALL SAUCE FELL
This is an old comment but now I can’t unhear this
1:43 Valentino Ortega plays a fill right there that when I first ever heard it i did so from watching the studio vlogs theyd post while recording this album with Joey Sturgis, listen to it a few times back and you'll realize how fucking sick it is, its not necessarily super technical or complex or super fast, just super unique, its as though he had wrote a fill that would be played on the kick snare and toms but then moved the parts for the toms to his hi hats and cymbals, hes always been such a kick ass fuckin drummer. You can tell this is dominantly Shayleys writing instrumentally and lyrically, it's one of the best songs on this album.
My favorite song
This is such an awesome song. I like the chorus alot. It all fits in nicely
This band was phenomenal
Man.....1 member leaves and it all goes away. The memories of this band with these members.....
That fill at 1:43 that’s almost all cymbals hi hats and the ride is such a unique and dope sounding addition to that breakdown. I saw the band post asking what OM&M was peoples fav, & this will always be my favorite

"...shut those legs girls it closing time..."

I'm not very partial to the screaming, but the part that begins at 0:43 is what drew me to this song. This band has really talented vocals, and I wish they would utilize that more instead of the screams :l

I miss this Era so much
Just been reading multiple articles on the drama between Austin, Jerry, Attack Attack! and a bunch of other people. I seriously don't know who to believe at this point. I'm a confuzzled panda right now.

So the clean vocalist has his own band. Dayshell.... yall should check it out.
Waiting for Operation Pegasus...
Back in 2023 🌿🍵
I have mad respect for Shayley on those clean vocals.
Please come back to Of Mice & Men, please Shayley.
