  • Mistletoe State Park was our destination for this long-overdue return to RVing! It's a fairly short ride for us, being just outside of Appling, GA, meaning we spent more time camping and less time driving! Take a look as we show you the beautiful countryside on the way there, the gorgeous waterfront campsites on the shores of Lake Thurmond, and the lush almost-rainforest-like hiking trails that meander through the park. We were so happy to be released from "COVID Clamp-Down" that we'd have enjoyed this trip no matter what the park was like, but so much the better that we found it to be a great place to spend a long weekend with the "Aluminum Falcon!"

    Got out this weekend. Two things: how do you like the Murphy bed. 2. You need to purchase a remote control alligators to scare a certain someone when near water! Nice job on the lights Jess.

      Thanks, Scott! The Murphy bed is great, especially in our floor plan. Didn't work quite as well in our previous RV, which was 6 ft. shorter.

    Glad you were able to get out and go camping. We are headed to an RV park for Memorial Day weekend although it won't. We have to be self-contained as the bathrooms, pools, clubhouse, etc are all closed.

      It's great to be camping again, but we're also ready to arrive at these parks and see some PEOPLE! We've always enjoyed meeting the park staff and talking to them about their parks, and shopping in the camp stores for magnets and t-shirts! That's part of the fun for us, and we want it back!! 😩

    I just started watching your videos. You look so familiar and I didn’t put it together until I watched your Santee state park video and you went home for thanksgiving dinner. We went to school together. I believe that you graduated with my brother and my cousin. Love your videos. Maybe I’ll run across y’all camping somewhere. Good luck and be safe.

      Of course I remember! Not only did we go to the same school, you and I were also co-workers at my very, very first job - at the greenhouses! I'm tickled pink you found our channel and are liking our stuff! If you camp South Carolina parks as much as we do, it's entirely possible we'll see each other. Keep watching - we'll make more of these things! Give Tim my regards, too!

    Beautiful park! It looked very much like it was clean and the bathrooms looked clean too. The cleanest I have seen so far. How did your gritted turn out when you cooked on it? Love you your out door kitchen. Love the lights Jessie put up. How did she hang those up so nicely on the awning? What dud she use? After the lights were up it looked really nice. Thank you for this video. Hope you are having a great holiday.

    Greetings from the peoples republic of California! Great vid, what a beautiful campground! Love to see more of the trailer... How was the outdoor kitchen on this unit, did it perform like you thought it would? Love to hear your thoughts on the trailer. Its comfort and the convenience of all the interior features. This is the unit I want to own someday soon so it would be great to know your thoughts on it. Thanks again for allowing those of us that are still locked down to remember what freedom looks like. Take care and keep living and learning!

      Halloooo out there on the Left Coast!! Thanks a bunch for taking a look at our video! We did a fairly comprehensive review of "Aluminum Falcon 2.0" when we first brought him home (which you can see right here: ua-cam.com/video/ESJlsD-T4Qk/v-deo.html), so be sure to check that one out, too! Keep watching in the weeks to come and we'll show some of our starting to use that exterior kitchen a bit more. Y'all hang in out there!! #FreedomFromFear

    Love your videos. I grew up down in Charleston, SC and would love to get back to do some camping. These parks are nice, but are they big rig friendly, like a 38' Super C? Oh, I was beginning to think you two were actually up around Seattle where it rains like 280 days a year.

    • @LiveNLearnRV
      @LiveNLearnRV  3 роки тому

      Thanks for watching! The pull-through site we had when we were there could easily accommodate "big rigs" like yours. We had plenty of room on either end, and there were some other sites that had similar space. ...and believe me, we suffered through enough rain last year for THREE camping seasons!

  • @dwoodygura

    • @LiveNLearnRV
      @LiveNLearnRV  8 місяців тому +1

      Oh, Lord! You're testing my memory! I want to say that was site #76, but I would never swear to that. I guess you could pull up the campground map on Mistletoe's website and look for the pull-through spot that was directly across from that bath house. 🤷🏼‍♂️

    Nice video guys. Love the shots from the trailer. So how and where did you mount the camera?

    • @LiveNLearnRV
      @LiveNLearnRV  4 роки тому

      I assume you mean our "camper-cam"? That's a GoPro mounted right at the edge of the nosecap that I just keep running all the time while we're in transit. I use one of the sticky-mounts that come with all GoPro cameras, and the clip and un-clip the camera as needed.

    • @arewethereyet2653
      @arewethereyet2653 4 роки тому

      That is what I meant. I like that shot but I think I'm still too chicken or fearful of losing the camera. As you know they aren't super cheap but it is one of my favorite cameras. Thanks again for the info

    • @LiveNLearnRV
      @LiveNLearnRV  4 роки тому

      I get it - I had the same fear at first, but I promise it's safe. I even used an El-Cheapo Chinese knock-off camera in the mount the first time to see if it'd stay fixed in place (figured if I lost THAT camera it wouldn't be that big a deal). That mount or whatever camera I've had in it has never budged.
