    Trent, fair is fair, you have many big boy toys. You have purchased your project truck, your car lift, your snowmobile, shop size tool boxes, power tools for just about anything, and your building a mancave etc. Allie works hard, and is supportive of you. She deserves a nice hot tub. She shouldn't have to wait indefinitely while you keep adding to your already large collection of wants. You have figured out how to do a lot of things, I am sure you can figure out a hot tub. Lots of people have them who live in the mountains where it snows. Don't hear her asking for much. She deserves this!

    Trent, use Break In oil. When you first start engine, DONT let it idle. Let it run at 1500 or higher, for awhile.Very important and if you break it in right, Toyota will last 350000

    Replacing the belt pulleys is the best choice. Besides the fact of access under the belts, once the "engine" is installed, the front member and radiator are in the way and have to be removed to get room to do the work. So, trying to get as much done BEFORE the engine/tranny combo are installed is a wise option. Hope no other hardware surprises show up.

    I have no idea what you are doing or talking about, but I find myself oddly mesmerized by what you are doing and saying. To me an arbor is a garden decoration. My favorite saying of yours is,” We’ll see what happens.” Accessories are what you add to an outfit and I still watch you do stuff and talk a language I don’t understand. I love this!

    Harbor Freight Power steering pulley puller for the win, $20 piece of mind. You'll also need it to put the new pulley on the pump. Great job getting that broke stud out, I think it'll be fine. But, There had to be a reason it failed, just to make sure, run a tap down that hole and blow it out.

    Just a word of advice you better pull out that plug that you put the red lock tight on before it cures and put some permatex or some other type heat resistant sealer. Red lock tight will not seal it will leak

    • @johnknipe9164
      @johnknipe9164 Рік тому +1

      And you're not supposed to fully Tighten up anything you put permitex on because too much squeezes out and then you won't get a good seal. You should just tighten it up so it oozes a tiny bit and then wait till it cures and then give it a final torque that way. You'll still have enough sealant in between the 2 surfaces so it will still properly. OTHERWISE IT WILL LEAK So you have to do your oil Pan
      and other part of the oil Pan gasget over again.

    When the wrench clicks, quit pulling. If you click twice, it's technically over torqued(ask me how I know). 50 years on fighter aircraft, and yes, things break. That's what your situation looked like. That stud failed before torque was met. You're lucky it came out that easy. Most bolts have a torque range that you can work with, so if it calls for 17-21 ft lbs, torque it at the lower setting until your sealant sets and go back and re-torque to the median range. 19 lbs. I guarantee you'll get a little movement. Never use max torque on assembly. Especially with aluminum.

      But that also may be toyota wanting to sell you a new block 🤦🏼‍♂️so who knows

    • @MitchGaar
      @MitchGaar Рік тому

      @@Trents.garage Trenton thing you could do since you had the heads and block milled is to put thicker or over sized head gaskets on it. You have to make up for the space you had milled for 2 reasons, compression and timing, so you have to use thicker gaskets or new heads. Although there are bad things with thicker gaskets too. Plus you had block don too. One of the reasons why thick gaskets are not a good idea is heat transfer.
      The heat of the block is different than the heat of the head, so if you have a thick gasket in between there, the gasket takes all of the heat and becomes somewhat deformed because of unequal heat on both sides.
      A thinner gasket will allow the heat transfer from block to head a little more easily.
      Thats one part of gasket theory. I have more in one of my boilermaker books.
