Great video, nice camera. :) It looks alot like my Chinonflex TTL from ca. 1966. I think this camera was a kind of template for several brands - Aka Prinzflex Super TTL and Revueflex 1000S TTL. Keep it up, I very much enjoy your channel! :)

I've only recently discovered your channel and just wanted to say how much I'm enjoying the content and presentation. Extremely interesting but potentially expensive as I'm often tempted to emulate your purchases. Please keep up the excellent work.

My understanding is that the mount was developed by Zeiss Ikon and was also commonly used by Praktica. It became a universal mount although with Pentax using it as well, it did become known as the Pentax mount. I'm not sure what it was that allowed it to be so universal.
That said, Pentax did create the PK mount and did make that universally available royalty free - which is why so many late 70's and 80's cameras use the same mount - including the 90's Zenit 212k.

Has the whole world gone Ricoh mad. You're the fourth channel at the moment that's cover Ricoh in the last month. Good solid cameras, with probably the earlier models being more reliable, when they became more electric and plastic fantastic the quality suffered a bit; but that can be said for all manufacturers. Having said that the only Ricoh I have is a TF-900, a 1980's plastic brick point and shoot that takes good shots; probably more down to the quality of lens.
Regarding comment from Peter below he's totally correct that M42 has nothing to do with Pentax plus I don't think the Pentax M42 has the same pitch of thread, so they're not interchangeable.

A very good review of what appears to be an excellent camera, however, the M42 screw mount was nothing to do with Pentax, although it seems that the mount is always incorrectly termed "Pentax M42 mount". This mount was designed in Germany, by the Zeiss Ikon/ KW (Praktica) company. Pentax, along with many other companies, just copied it.

Thank you, my mistake as you said it was developed by Praktica, latter used by Pentax.

It's probably me just being 'picky', but are your horizons all sloping down to the right..?
