Don’t get down on yourself Jen , it’s so hard for women in general , your doing the best you can in this stage of your life , hang in there small changes are good ❤️
You are so much fun! I have battled my weight since high school. I am 52 and 100 plus pounds over weight. Now that I’m in menopause hell, I can’t move the scale to save my life. I love your honesty and humor. Thank you for making me laugh about the ongoing trials of weight loss. You rock!
Omg I love you and your attitude!Thank you for sharing your journey. When I found out I was type 2 diabetic I had to make some changes. Low carb is one of the things that works for me (I'm 45) because I'm not giving things up, and that has really helped my cravings and mindset on this journey. It's been a year and a half and I've lost almost 60lbs.
I do best & feel better with eating less carbs, more vegetables, salads and fruits and doing intermittent fasting (16/8). Losing weight is hardest as you get older - I can totally attest to this. I love your honesty. Hang in there & I’ll do the same!
Jen, way to stay consistent. I'm 47 I've struggled with my weight for all my life. Done all the things too. I've started low carb since Feb. With Intermittent fasting, I'm down 30lbs. But, stress and other factors can cause weight gain. It's all in balance. It's great your trying new things to help you along the way. Hugs❤
We all really appreciate your honesty Jen! I'm 34 and been trying to lose weight I've lost 28lbs so far and it took me a year. Weight loss in your 30s is so much harder than 20s. I wanna lose it before i get to my 40s cause I've heard how hard it is!
You are helping more people that you think. I am on the same journey and it feels great to have someone along the journey with me. We are cheering you on,.
I’m glad you don’t scrap this video. It is real life. We all struggle. We all have difficult weeks and days. What you are doing is life. I have struggled with my Weight as well. And you keep doing you and trying your best. You will find a balance. I to do low carb, no salt and lots of veggies. I’m a diabetic. It works great for me. It is my life. Hoping your able to control things better. You keep living your real life and keep being transparent. That is why we all relate to you. Love you, Jen!
I love watching you because I can relate to you so well. I'm not a mom, but I'm 44 and travel for work and have been on a trainwreck shitshow weight loss journey since 1990 too😂 Thanks so much for always keeping it real.
Glad you did not scrap the video! So many can relate to the weight loss struggles.....love all your content....Both my children did competitive marching band(drumline) it's a great sport(yes, it is a sport!) teaches hard work and discipline. All the best!
I too have struggled with food addiction my whole life. I am down 100 pounds for last 8 years. You can do it too! I don't eat any sugars or sweeteners or flours, ever. Lots of yummy whole foods. Yes, a lot of planning , especially while travelling. You go girl!
I love your videos and that you share pieces of your life with us. You know what, like you said, you are still active, walking a lot, traveling, working, running kids from hither to yon... you're rocking it, Jen! I did have a lot of success with meat and veggies and lost a bunch of weight and felt amazing. I hope this works the way you want it to!
Show yourself grace. I am trying to do the same. I turned 50 and all the things gs happened. Menopause is a B. I can not seem to lose weight. I count macros, exercise, drink the water. Nothing. So frustrating. I was actually considering doing a little low carb myself. You have inspired me. You are not in this alone.
I just love your sense of humor and your honesty👍🏻 don’t let your weight determine your self respect, you are a great example for a lot of us, just continue on your journey and what happens should not determine who you are! Stay positive and keep your sense of humor always 🥰
I am 53 and am on my own weight loss journey. I am following Noom. I’ve lost 17 pounds since end of April, had two vacations pretty close to one another, and went up a few pounds but back down pretty quickly. It’s hard! Especially when you are older, your metabolism slows down, maybe you’re in peri-menopause. Give yourself grace and focus on the healthier habits you are forming. That’s what I am telling myself everyday. I’m doing better than I was 4 months ago! And also, if you had not started, you wouldn’t be down the 20 lbs, right!!! You are doing great!! A busy, working Mom, just like me, trying to do your best everyday! That’s all that matters!! Thanks for sharing your journey- I know it is helping others❤
Hello Jen! I started watching you when you were doing keto, years ago, and I continue to watch you because you’re such a sweet person. I wanted to let you know that I did keto or low carb on and off for seven years. It ruined my metabolism. Maybe think about the Mediterranean diet, I’ve been doing it for two months and I went from 176 pounds to 146 pounds. I never thought I would be able to eat this way, but my doctor told me it’s the best diet in the world, it focuses more on vegetables, fruits, seafood, and chicken, less on red meat. Bonus still get pasta, crackers, tortilla chips and bread! I just count my calories while doing it. It’s definitely worth looking into.
I personally greatly appreciate the transparency with your chat at the end. I think most of us who struggled with weight gain and weight loss have had an up-and-down battle with it. All we can do is keep talking about it and keep trying. These people who are one and done nailed it and never have an issue for the rest of their lives, I cannot relate to lol. Also, I think I really need that dash egg thing lol!
Thank you for sharing your journey. I'm 50 and started a keto diet 3 months ago so I can get off of diabetic medication. I've lost 38 pounds but it hasn't been easy. I have at least 50 more to go. I appreciate your honest and real content.
Losing it is damn hard! I am glad that youre working on it at this age. Your world is food-centric because you love to cook and do videos about food. Its your reality. I waited until 58 to take my weightloss seriously with too many red health flags hitting me in the face. Ive lost 40 so far and its really hard but i have to do it or my life will be significantly shorter. Keep at it! Never apologize that youve had a slip up. Youre human!
I haven’t been watching as many of your videos since you’ve been on your weight loss journey and you almost had me back full-time until you said it’s all about calories in-calories out. I still love you and I’m sure you still love me, too 😊
I think you're doing great! Menopause and I are not getting along at all. The weight seems to think I would be heartbroken if it left. Hello! I won't be...lol I was down 9lbs. this time last year, it seems to have found me AGAIN!!! I appreciate your encouragement. We'll all get through this one way or another.
You are just too stinkin' cute AND real! I find your conversations with us, your viewers, so refreshing. Believe me, the stress of carrying around that extra 60 pounds is real - I am 70 years old and because of my inactivity during covid in 2020 - 2022, I put on an extra 40 pounds and at my age it is REAL hard to get it all back off again, so stick with it Jen, and please know that you are encouraging me to do the same, so thanks!
I feel for you Jen, I am on a weight loss journey too. I had to switch to low carb too see any results. It seemed like the carb cravings wouldn't go away until I stopped eating them....I still love them and miss them but my health was getting worse so they had to go. Hang in there gf ❤
Jen, i love how you are so honest, your right 40 does suck, been trying to lose weight and cant and now going through menopause so that dont help either.
Hi Jen! I love watching your channel. You’re so honest and relatable to the average person. I like you have 26:26 struggled with my way my entire adult life I have PCOS and type two diabetes I have recently been put on Mounjaro and it has been life-changing for me. I know you’re a nurse and you’ve probably done tons of research. I was super skeptical about medication but I must say it’s a game changer. My best friend had bariatric surgery, a gastric sleeve six years ago and put on over 75 pounds after she lost 110. She is now on Mounjaro since January and is down 55 pounds. Just thought I would throw it out there for you. I’m sure you’ve done some research, but hang in there we will overcome this!
Go Mustcatine Marching Band!! My son is a trumpet in the Greendale High School Marching Band (WI). His first comp for Senior year is in Illinois next weekend. Hope Kira loves every minute of this season!
You don’t owe us any explanation! You do you and take care of yourself it’s always a process for all of us. I love how you stay real and that’s why I will always watch your channel. Plus the little chuckles along the way make my day
I have been on a health journey since June. I haven't loss much weight, but I feel a lot better. I walk 2.5-3 miles a day 4-5 times a week. I am also trying to each better. Slow and wins the race. Don't give up!
I so appreciate your honesty. It is a struggle. I’m dealing with same thing as I am also just trying to be healthy into my 60’s. Weeks I travel for work are challenging and not always a success but I remember I didn’t get this way in one week either. Your focus to protein, fruits and veggies have helped me a lot when I’m meal planning. Thank you and hang in there!
I feel your pain. Losing weight as you get older is HARD! Like you, I've been overweight my whole life. I lost a good amount over the last couple of years, but keeping it off is a daily struggle.
staying w/ you on your journey cuz it sounds like my story and I’m 64 been carrying 20 xtra pounds for several years and been like you tried all the diets but I just keep going on this journey, some days are easy and good and some well let’s just not talk about, I feel it’s harder when you have family around but wouldn’t have it any other way, just keep trying. You are strong you got it!
You got this! Try not to be hard on yourself. It's really difficult to keep on your routine when you travel all the time. Try to give yourself some grace.
Jen, thank you for showing real life and not some sugar coated reality... Have you had your thyroid levels tested? I know as a nurse you are likely on top of stuff like that but thought I would ask. I know you recently had tons of blood work done. I am 41 and the struggle is real to lose weight. Keep being real!
OMG I hate tracking every single thing I put in my mouth. I love to eat and I hate having to think so much about what I am eating. This is why I have failed at weight watchers twice. It's just another chore. Especially as a mom when you are also planning every meal for everyone in your home. I am short (4'11) and struggled with my weight on and off since high school. I am 38 now and very overweight and it is so hard. I feel you for real Jen. I have 60 pounds to lose and really don't know how I'm going to do it 😫
If I may, I suggest looking into Gin Stephens and Jason Fung. Gin has books and podcasts, Jason has a UA-cam channel, they both talk about intermittent fasting.
It's good you feel better doing the low carb since the changes you make need to be forever. That's my problem....i can make the changes for a year or 2 but then i go back to my oks habits. Keep pushing! You can go it!
Thank you for sharing. I’m 43 now, back when I was 35 I easily lost 30 lbs. Put the weight back on during Covid and it is def harder to lose after 40. I’m slowly getting back to my goal weight. The main thing I’ve learned is to not give up, to keep at it even after backsliding.
I have had a salad for breakfast. The restaurant First Watch!!! I now love having eggs with a side arugula topped woth a lemon basil dressing Newman's own has. So summery honestly. Surprised myself😂.
1) everytime I watch you I learn something new. I get that chicken breast at Costco, but I never thought about adding fruit to the bagged salads 2) the true lime w/coke hack is the most delicious treat I’ve ever had 3) your weight loss journey is encouraging and relatable and I appreciate you sharing b/c I feel less alone in my own struggles 🩵 4) I didn’t mean to have 4 points, but I couldn’t stop thinking about that breakfast salad - I have got to try that 5) it’s the end of the video and you just said “didn’t lose shit” and I guffawed because that is basically what I just said to my mom yesterday 😭
Thank you for sharing your weight loss journey, Jen. I find that low-carb vs. low fat and counting calories has worked better for me. There are good substitutions for items that you cannot eat on low-carb. Tender radishes, for instance, are a great substitution for potatoes in soup and as a side dish. The texture is similar to potatoes when heated. This might be great content to share .....recipes with substitutions to stay on low-carb.
I love how transparent you are and I feel like I lose 10 and gain 15. Also she is a high impact for getting it off and especially keeping it off. Wishing you the best and hope you keep your spirit just as you are. Love your channel (egg cooker doorbell)!!!
Jen! I appreciate your perspective and thoughts on losing weight and choosing low carb for right now - I’ll be doing this with you - now that my kids are back in school and the normal routine has begun - low carb, healthy eating, and regular exercise is on my to-do list ❤
Listen, don't be hard on yourself. It's journey. I had sleeve surgery in 2017, revision to by-pass in 2021 and still only down 80 pounds. I say lets dwell on the small accomplishments. We can do this!
As I was watching your weekend video yesterday, I thought how good you look. Whatever weight you have lost really shows. Don't get discouraged.💕 I am much older than you, and a cardio, bypass survivor. I have found low carb, along with watching calories helps me lose weight. It is still slow going, due to lack of exercise. I have started IF as well. 18:6. It is easy since I am also not a breakfast eater. It hardest to control the late night munchies. We will survive!😊
This is my first ever comment on a video of yours, even though I have been watching your videos for two years! I have struggled with my weight since I was 8 years old, tried all the diets, and also had gastric sleeve surgery 10 years ago. I have over 100 pounds to lose even after WLS. The ONLY way of eating that has ever controlled my appetite is keto/low carb. For me, it is the only way to STOP THE FOOD NOISE and feel like a normal person around food. Congrats on not giving up! You are gorgeous just the way you are, but I understand why you want to lose weight as you age. I am 46 and feel the same way. You got this! Also, that thumbnail is EVERYTHING!
I am on the strugglebus with weightloss too! 😖 Currently reading "Fast Like A Girl" to give fasting and carb cycling a go. Thanks for keeping it real. You're doing great!
Jen, it’s good that you try, which is better than giving up. I am significantly older than you and like you I have tried many different weight loss programs. While some have been successful, they are not easily sustained. I’ve accepted that I will never be the size 3 I was when I got married or even the 120 I was after having my second baby, but for my own health I need to try to eat smarter. It’s not easy but I need to do it. Good luck to both of us and to everyone else in the same boat😀
I just love you Jen, you are so real and I’ve been there too, tried every diet, even had the surgery and still need to lose fifty pounds, we will just keep pushing forward, love your attitude❤
Girl, weight loss is HARD!!! Love your honesty and openness xx I used Noom last year and lost 28 lbs, and each 1/2 a pound was a struggle! Congrats to anyone who looses 2-3 lbs a week, that's just never been me. Being older makes a HUGE difference and I've just turned 50 and how is that even possible????? Love your videos please keep doing all that you do xx p.s. I hope Adam is ok?
That first salad blew my mind! I work nights and my appetite is out of control, I have started drinking, plain black coffee, "no ice 😂 On my break I'll have a smoothie, so when I get off I don't want to eat heavy foods. I could pre-prep that salad for the week. I love that you stand in your"truth and show us reality ❤
Hi from Des Moines. I absolutely love your videos. Thank you for being so honest with us about your weight struggles. I too am having trouble sticking to a program. My weight goes up and down, with no significant weight loss. I've been trying to eat lower carb and eating more protein. I'm finding I'm not as hungry so I don't snack between meals. Keep up the good work. You have a lot of supporters cheering you on.
I highly, highly recommend Mediterranean Yes, there are carbs, but it’s all about nutrient dense carbs that have protein in many of them. I hit my 19 month mark, and I have only 4 pounds to 100 total lost. The flavors are amazing. I’ve been able to keep my calories between 1200 and 1400 and meet all my macros. I buy just ordinary food, lots of beans & legumes, veggies, fruit, lean protein
Stay encouraged, consistency, and lifestyle change. Figure out your why. Commit to only what you can do. Remember, you must eat nutrient dense food to keep from being hungry.

Love the honesty! I've struggled with very slow weight loss too, but am losing cm with walking and weights so taking that as a win!
Love the honesty Jen!!! 😊
Always!

Same girl, same! Some weeks aren’t great even when you WANT to eat healthy, it doesn’t always happen. I appreciate your authentic week!! 😊
I love how honest you are about life, and that shit happens. I do high protein low carb since my sleeve.
LOL Adam (Husband)! I just have to say bravo for not giving up. Way to keep at it. And when one way isn't working - find a new damn way!
I ❤ love how real your videos are. It’s real life.
Thank you beautiful momma foe keeping it real in regard to the weight loss.

Hey girlfriend. Thanks for your honesty!
Thank you for sharing your journey. I'm 50 and started a keto diet 3 months ago so I can get off of diabetic medication. I've lost 38 pounds but it hasn't been easy. I have at least 50 more to go. I appreciate your honest and real content.
Your journey and honesty are motivation for me to keep on trying new things, and eventually it will work. You've got this, Jen!

I lost 10 pounds but gained back 4 so I totally understand, the struggle is real. Thank you for the honesty ❤
Love your openness and honesty always! Always enjoy listening to you. 😁
The struggle is real on losing weight. I struggle putting myself as a priority. I relate and appreciate you being real!

Keep going! I've been losing and gaining the same 2-3 lbs for a month. We are all going to get there at our own pace!
You are headed in the right direction. Keep up the good work
I appreciate your honesty and you sharing your journey, and humor, however it may go.
I appreciate your honest approach to your journey. Thanks for sharing!
I love watching you. I get good advice from you and motivation. The struggle is real.

I gave up counting calories and now do intermittent fasting. Down 40 lbs in less than a year.. Just works for me😊
Congratulations on your weight loss, fasting is definitely the way to go! 🎉
Thanks for sharing, Jen. Lifetime struggler, here, too. Low carb is the only thing that works for me. Best of luck to you.
Jen, I have been doing low carb and i've lost 192 pounds. I hope this inspires you to keep it up. You can do it! By the way, I am 66 yo.
Go Mustcatine Marching Band!! My son is a trumpet in the Greendale High School Marching Band (WI). His first comp for Senior year is in Illinois next weekend. Hope Kira loves every minute of this season!
You go girl and do you for whatever season you are in! I am currently trying to loose also. Love your inspiration and how you keep it real!
You are doing great! Life happens. Been fighting the same for a long time!
Low carb has worked best for me! Not strict keto, just low carb. Great food and easy to stick to. I swear by it!
I agree I'm doing low Carb too n it's has helped me .
Same here and I cut out sugar.
Hang in there! Just do what you can do and enjoy life. You're amazing!!! ❤

Omg Jen. You are doing it for real, not like all those influencers , give yourself some grace!❤
You crack me up! So real, and I am here for it!!❤
You got this!
The struggle is real!! Keep going forward! I struggle too!❤
Love your channel and what your about. I’ve always struggled with my weight so I’m so glad you have been honest about your journey!!!!! Thanks!!!!!
😂😂Adam’s just shoveling salad into your mouth. He seems like a great match for your humor.
I can’t help but think- “this one time at band camp..”
I'm with you, Jen! 💜 The struggle is real, I feel it, too.
I love your channel- still, after all these years ❤
I have had a salad for breakfast. The restaurant First Watch!!! I now love having eggs with a side arugula topped woth a lemon basil dressing Newman's own has. So summery honestly. Surprised myself😂.
Thanks for your honesty and humour! This was inspiring! Don't give up!
1) everytime I watch you I learn something new. I get that chicken breast at Costco, but I never thought about adding fruit to the bagged salads
2) the true lime w/coke hack is the most delicious treat I’ve ever had
3) your weight loss journey is encouraging and relatable and I appreciate you sharing b/c I feel less alone in my own struggles 🩵
4) I didn’t mean to have 4 points, but I couldn’t stop thinking about that breakfast salad - I have got to try that
5) it’s the end of the video and you just said “didn’t lose shit” and I guffawed because that is basically what I just said to my mom yesterday 😭
❤ love your honesty! I'm on the same struggle-bus... keep US updated
I love how transparent you are and I feel like I lose 10 and gain 15. Also she is a high impact for getting it off and especially keeping it off. Wishing you the best and hope you keep your spirit just as you are. Love your channel (egg cooker doorbell)!!!
Should be age not she.
I'm looking forward to your lower carb videos. I'm diabetic but I struggle with meal ideas.
Progress happens in a lot of places but we tend to rely on the scale. I’m cheering you on no matter what that judgemental square says.
I highly, highly recommend Mediterranean
Yes, there are carbs, but it’s all about nutrient dense carbs that have protein in many of them.
