To celebrate the release of the 'None More Negative' box set, superfans Jami & Dom from the band Code Orange got to sit down with surviving Type O Negative members Johnny and Kenny about the band's epic history.
In this clip Johnny and Kenny give the first ever comprehensive history of 'Bloody Kisses' and how the band recorded it. Motley Crue were such big fans of this classic Type O Negative album that they decided to take them on tour which led to the album's massive success. The band also reminisces about drinking with metal legends like Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden and Rob Halford of Judas Priest.

Type O Negative opening for Motley Crue was actually my first concert.
Dude, when was this?????
@@Jason_Van_Stone First time I saw them was 1994.
I seen this tour as well in Indianapolis. Line up was Type O, Kings X, The Crue. Its was a really good show.
YOU LUCKY BASTARD!!!
@@BigStevie Saw them in 1995 with Pantera as well.
Bloody kisses is a killer album. Very underrated.
It's their BEST 6)
@@arthurbishop3173 agreed!
Its a monster albummm. One of greatest.. fuck everyone who didn't like TON.... 🍻
Certainly not underrated in the context of their discography. The opposite, in fact.
Bruce Dickinson hanging out with Type O…. wow!… I would've loved to have had a few sodas with those guys!
Time goes by, and life brings change and all things to an end,
but I'll always listen to Type O Negative's music and the lyrical blend,
of dark humor and not so subtle wit, mixed with a green light
that helped me though rough times, when I had no hope in sight.
Thank you for interviewing these guys, I could listen to the stories over and over again.
for ever♥
Cool that he mentioned the Mason Jar...Best place in Phoenix to play.Glad it came back but now under the name Rebel Lounge....and yes Rob Halford lives here in the valley. He as been here probably over 30 years.
I used to fly into Phoenix a few times a year to spend time with my gf. Such a glorious sight, flying into Phoenix at night :)
@@AzathothsAlarmClock It is nice to have it back (as Rebel Lounge) after turning back into a live music venue in 2015 ...after it turned to a gay bar in 2005.It still has the same tiny stage with low ceiling and giant roof beam down the center stage.
I actually like that Corabi record so seeing that tour would have been a dream come true.
We went but we left after Type O played their three songs. Lol once they were done we were like “Well, wtf do we do now?” The sun was still up!

I’ve told this story in a few other comments sections but it’s still hilarious to me. Type O were booked at this place called Spike’s Doghouse in Jax FL and it was tiny. It was like ‘94. I was so stoked because they had quickly become my favorite band and the chance to see them in such a small place excited me like nothing you can imagine. They had to cancel because they found out the ceiling above the foot-tall stage was too low to accommodate Peter. lol. Like WAY too low.
I would go on to make that club my band’s home
Two of my all time favorite bands!!!!!!!
Great Crue and Type o my fav bands, kick ass
My fav band always love them I need this vinyl set
Love these videos
That's right, THE Bruce Dickenson.
Great band
Wish I could have seen Type O open for the Crue, I bet that was awesome.
I really, really fuckin wish I saw the Type O Negative with Pantera though!
i loved the band since i saw that song called black, back in the nineties on mtv or vh1 i 🤔, really cool

This whole interview is the meeting the olive and black jeans gangs
that song in the background i hated that song cause it was on the radio all the time, then i heard Black #1. Big fan of Type O Negative. Proud to have Type O negative blood as well. But Black #1 and Origin of the feces are great works of art.
I had tickets for that tour and they canceled the show in my area
I was at that Mason Jar show!
Fuckin' Cool!!!
RIP Petrus🤘
