    • @PeerAdder
      @PeerAdder 24 дні тому +5

Indeed. However, day/night because reasons. But it isn't just a 24 hour sun in Antarctica in December, it's one that circles 360 degrees around the observer, at a constant 15 degrees per hour rate, with an angular elevation precisely predictable from the time of day and your latitude (have you seen MCToon's 24 hour Antarctic sun-dial video yet?) with no change in apparent angular size (look for Dave McKeegan's 24 hour sun-spot video).
None of this is even remotely possible on any conception of a flat earth, because of optics and geometry, no matter how many domes or super-fluid mirrors you throw at it. Not at the very least without confirming your point, that you then do away with night completely.

The greatest minds in all of flerf appear to be: a former taxi driver, a security guard, a yoga instructor, crane operator, and a few stoners. In the last 10-15 years, the collective intellect of these geniuses have not been able to provide a single point of evidence to support a flat earth - not one.
Jeran made a very good point in his live stream, along the lines of "the flat earth community have been unable to progress their position in the last 10 or more years".
On this he is completely correct. They've come up with statements of incredulity like "can't feel movement", "spiny wet ball", etc; some catchy phrases like "we see too far", "it measures flat", "there is no 24 hour sun in Antarctica (oops)", etc. Collectively they have produced zero evidence for a flat earth and have failed to explain common phenomena that is easily accounted for by the globe model.
Why are there no pilots, ship captains (or pretty much anyone that has ever worked on a ship), civil engineers, architects, surveyors, astronomers, geologists, mathematicians, physicists, astronauts, just about anyone that finished high school in the flat earth community?

Great comment. I try to inject this fact when replying to Flat Earthlings, by asking why, as a community, are they SOOO lazy and never DO anything?
The nearest thing to an 'experiment' is "we see too far" pictures...to which I ask how far could/would/should we see, then point out we can see the sun, and as it hovers over the Flat and 'sets' because it's too far away, what is that distance?

I'm not surprised at some people who went on the trip giving up on Flat Earth. I work with young people, who for various reasons have had little to no schooling. You'd be shocked at how far behind the curve that puts them. What they are categorically _not_ is stupid or unwilling to learn (basically, I wouldn't be working with them if they were). Even teenagers can start to soak up information they should have picked up when they were three or four. Yes, it's hard work for them, but by no means impossible. Now, if someone has had Flat Earth ingrained in their thinking by fair means or foul (mostly foul), they _can_ learn that it is erroneous, often very quickly. I am not surprised that people who are prepared to go and see for themselves have the ability to adjust their point of view.
On the other hand, those who start calling them vile names because they've learnt from their experience are beyond contempt, to put it mildly.

Hi Dan, great video series… I’ve been following the Vendeé Globe 2024/5 solo yacht race which is just in its final stages.. There were 45 starters in November 2024 and the first two competitors have just crossed the finish line in LeSables d’Lonne in France. Competitors sail single handed, non-stop, around the globe from west to east, returning to the same point. The route takes them from the Bay of Biscay, south past the Canaries and Azores, across the equator into the south Atlantic, passing the cape of good hope (South Africa) around the Southern Ocean/Indian Ocean, passing south of Australia, continuing east to eventually round Cape Horn (South America) to then head north again passed the Falkland Islands and back into the northern hemisphere… this year Charlie Dalin won the race knocking 9 days of the previous record, in 64 days and 9+ hours… he was averaging around 17-18 knots under sail… they circumnavigated Antarctica whilst racing outside of the ice exclusion zone to prevent the risk of colliding with icebergs. There is a wealth of gps tracking data and weather routing data which each team was using to determine their race strategies around the numerous weather and ocean conditions throughout the race… this race cannot work over the elapsed time achieved on the flat earth map! Indeed the weather systems and routing data couldn’t work in respect of routing to achieve (what is known in yacht racing) the best ‘velocity made good’ (VMG). VMG is the best speed being made towards a waypoint (or ‘mark’). If the trajectory of a boat’s race line on a globe gets flattened out onto the flat earth map, the routing gets longer, particularly the further south we go! This is just another example of how delusional the flat earth protagonists are in insisting that all of the evidence proving the reality of our planet is some sinister conspiracy.
I applaud those guys who are able to accept the evidence of reality that they experienced first hand and have now logically accepted the reality of the globe. Those who are now looking for (no, inventing!) anomalous discrepancies in desperation to hang onto their flerfism should now be soundly lampooned for being Emperors without clothes!

🚨 Viewers across the world can now see the planet parade of 2025! Here's how 👇🏻
As the twilight fades to darkness, look toward the southwestern horizon. There, you’ll spot Venus and Saturn appearing close together. Venus, the brighter of the two, will be unmissable.
Higher in the sky, you’ll find Jupiter, the second brightest speck of light in the night sky after Venus. Jupiter recently passed its opposition, making this one of the best times of the year to observe the gas giant with the naked eye.
Near the eastern horizon, Mars will shine brightly with its signature red hue, making it a captivating sight in the night sky. January is the best month of the year to observe the Red Planet, as it will steadily grow brighter leading up to its closest approach to Earth in over two years. On January 15, Mars will be at opposition. This means the planet will lie opposite the Sun and shine brightly throughout the night.
Uranus will be positioned near Jupiter, and Neptune will be close to Venus and Saturn. You will need optical aid to see both these ice giants as their magnitude is beyond the naked eye limit.

Regarding the two images of Mt Rossman, there are some very slight differences in the snow (ice) and rock patterns but you have to look carefully to find them. The temperature at which the snow would be falling, the likely angle of the slope and the wind speed during snowfall would mean that new snow would not just lie on the rock and cover parts of it. The only areas that would collect snow and ice would be the gullies and cracks in the rocks, and those won't change over a century or more, far less eight years.

That is because they have no problem with a 24 hour sun in the Summer in the North. And the reason they have no problem with that is that the North pole is in the "center" of their flat disc shaped world "model" (which is of course not a model, just a ridiculous disproven illogical idea that defies every shred of scientific evidence). Antarctica, however, can not have a 24 hour sun in the Antarctic Summer if Antarctica is a circle of ice around their imaginary pizza world.
