well that is because in most cases this is illegal unless your ligit in a survival situation.there are exceptions, and most of those are in the realm of pest control and is heavily monitered.in day to day applications the law sees this as setting booby traps, and that gets sticky real fast.not everybody has common sense, nor is everyone responsible enough to use these traps without cuaseing a shit storm so the law takes the easy option and tells us nobody can use em.and in a way,it's understandable.traps don't descriminate.takes skilled trappers to be able to spicifically target an animal, and even then, shit goes wrong.what if say,a kid walks into a snare you set and dies? and it can happen.again, traps don't descriminate.this is the main reason they are not legal.

Make the trigger more sensitive and place the trigger center of the trail, put your snare level with the ground and load it... Bait it. Rabbit comes along and bumps it snare rips up grabs its legs... Make a spike wall then the rabbit gets thrown into the spike wall, put a trigger on that spike wall so it releases a catapult and it throws the rabbit in the direction where Epstein didn't kill himself.

Thank you so much for making a topic that has been needlessly complicated so easy to understand. Comprehensive. WOW. I just discovered your channel. I sub'd. :-)
Great video. I'm glad you're talking about L7 here. Something I learned recently is in tree felling the L is also a conventional face cut, while the 7 is a Humboldt face cut. Does anyone know any more dualities with L7? Like tension and compression, it's everywhere.
Great tutorial, and well explained! A little addition to make the trap more effective by making the trigger a bit "hairier" (is that a word? lol). Wedge the looped tail end of the bank line between the "L" and the "7" at the point of contact between them. when the animal passes through the loop, it pulls at the base of the toggles, making them slide apart faster. Please don't take this comment as criticism of your set up, just a constructive addition to what you have created. Please make more of these videos, your method of instruction is one of the best I've seen for this trap.
Galvin Stanley Right on, it just depends on the trappers preference. In my experience, spring tends to work a little better. When a counter weight is involved, there's always the worry of too much/little weight. Depending on the animal, too little weight and the animal can work its way loose. Too much and there's the possibility of needlessly injuring the animal or even delimbing it. The spring allow for a little give while holding the animal in place. Just my preference though.
What is strange though is that there are very few web sites, and almost no videos on the use of a counter weight for that kind of trap;if you make You Tube videos,it would be nice if you could make a video explaining that, you can use that as an engine.
Would like to see how many of the naysayers, in this comment section, survive a SHTF situation. With that being said, I'd like to see more in this series.
Wait with the adapted one at the end.....if your only catching one at a time (most likely) won’t it not lift up because the longer trigger stick with the snares will just lift the one side you snagged something? I guess if all the pieces are stronger and the sapling is the right height and strength etc it would make a difference but I think I would just set loads of basic l7.
Everything can and should be scaled up or down to suit whatever you anticipate catching. The main purpose of the dual noose bar would be to setup at a fork in the trail. It would just minimise your scent and physical impact on the environment around the set. Of course you will only ever have one catch at a time. Good comment, and well worth the discussion. Thanks

the two trail can be used with the single trail by just adding another string to the catch, now you will have two loop hair trigger instead of one. adding the long horizontal stick is not necessary. remember to tie the string at the catch, not up where it is tied for the sappling.

You never want to dangle a snare like that, they will never work. The loop the loop feeds through has to be set to the side of the circle or they will not tighten.

Looks like bank line. Pretty awesome cordage for doing just about anything you need to use cordage for. Most people get #36 for its strength and rigidity, but it comes in many ratings and uses. If you wanna fish, #36 is not gonna cast as far if hand fishing. #8 or #12 bank line would be better for fishing and still be able to trap small game np. The #36 would be able to make much more rigid loops and catch larger game. You’d probably just need a much larger engine than that sapling he used.

@@robertnoel2363 Lastly, there are many traps available for you to learn that do not strangle an animal in a survival situation. There is no excuse. If men in ancient times chose to be humane towards animals that they killed when their life truly depended on that animal then you most certainly also can be completely humane now because if you are ever in a survival situation it will be your fault for that for one reason or another. And I know how to snare animals by the leg instead of the body or neck so that the animal is caught but not suffocating. I know how to set a snare that will pierce the animal through right then and there. So you are without excuse. You can certainly be humane even in a survival situation. The ONLY things that should ever be hung to die are the men and women who have committed crimes against the earth and against humanity. That's how serious this is and you don't have to be so cruel and uneducated about what it means to suffocate. It is NOT humane by definition.
