The more powerful one with the larger rotor has physically wider poles that's why it's more powerful also makes it more efficient because it allows greater torque output for the same current draw

@@shawnhill3866 the strange part is i have a similar style motor from 2005 with a small rotor, it pulls 0.92 amps and is much more powerful. I have no idea why this ‘supreme’ motor in the video was built so poorly. I do remember the range in speeds were pretty awful too although my 2005 ‘promotor’ version has similar range in speeds to a 90s marco motor

i prefer the slower ones and I would love to have a supreme motor for my 2005 06. It has the more powerful promotor. I was wondering if you would like to trade the supreme motor for the powerful one in mine. I like those supreme motors and it just isn't possible to find one where I live. Everything is aerospeed here

@@shawnhill3866 I don’t remember what happened to my supreme motor I think I tossed it with the old fan once the switch broke. I realized there are three different versions of the supreme motor; the first (the underpowered version) which was shown in the video, the second one which has the larger rotor and bigger windings made from around 2010-2014 which is just as powerful as the promotor/glory versions, and the newest one which uses the 8-pole inside style windings. I’ve been looking for a 2nd gen supreme motor but i cannot seem to find them, i only got the unbranded motor that says “bf” and the glory motor.

do you have any 4733 or 3733 motors from 2007. All of them from that year had the slower ones

@@shawnhill3866 nope unfortunately i only had the one from 2006-07, but that’s actually not true, I’ve seen one from 2006-07 before with a ‘hung hsing’ motor and a beige motor cable instead of grey one. There’s also a guy called fsm reviews on youtube with a 2007-08 4733 with the typical glory motor. I believe also the 2005-06 ones used the slower motor and the 2006-07 ones also used the promotor. I’ve been told after around 2007, the motors switched to have a code on the motor that starts with ‘bf’

The weaker motor is older; it has a drifted capacitor. I assure you that with the proper 4 uF, that motor will outperform the other one.
How do I know? While mine is a Promotor, the age is the same. What, with the small rotor on mine. I changed out the capacitor with an identical one with same rating and now it outperforms all other tuna can motors in my house, but only slightly!

This was filmed a while ago i had just ported it on my channel so i don’t remember how it exactly performed but it was similar performance to today’s tuna-can motors. I don’t think it was the capacitor because it had noticeably less copper than my promotor variant from 2005 while this motor was probably from 2006-07. the unbranded motor is dated 2009 and performs identical to the “glory” variant from 2009. There seems to be 2 versions of the promotors, the early versions and the newer versions used up from like 2010-2013 with the larger rotor. same goes for the supreme motor.

@@Fanscarsetc Thanks for the clarification. Can you do a video of a weathershield vs recalled motor (they are VERY different)?

@@sccpsteve yes, i can make a video comparing the two motors if that’s what you’re asking.

@@Fanscarsetc It's possible the actual recalled psc motor (pre-2003 post-2000) is a little more powerful than the huddled winding older 1.1 amp psc motor you have. So yes that's what I mean

@@sccpsteve i believe they are the exact same motor just with a different motor case. It pulls the same power as jordan’s 3743 from 2001 and spins at the same rpm as other early 2000s psc motors.
