The most impressive thing with your gameplay is you can make the NBA players look exactly like what they’d do in a real game and be effective. This is great 2k gameplay
Such a small, yet vital thing. They had it in ‘23, then removed in ‘24. I always wonder how devs don’t go crazy over little things like that. All the emphasis on realism should make some things go without saying.
Finally somebody that is actually good at the game talking about it. I was so happy to hear you were at community day. I’d argue they pulled you to the side because you actually play the game the way they want it to be played.
you gotta be the greatest player i've ever seen in this community. No left right cheese, just playing the game the way it's supposed to be played. I'm not gonna be able to buy the game this year probably, but i'll be tuning in for sure.

I plan to do for slashing what you have done for shot creatuon this year. My montages have never gained traction, so let's see how this goes. Your gameplay makes the "there are only a few good moves" narrative look stupid like it is.
It's really tough to say how good this game will be, but it did improve in terms of mechanics. I am just not sure at this point what this game will be by the end of the year after patches and once people figure out how to break the game. Day one, it's gonna feel amazing though!
Thx for the in depth vid as always Kev. Do U think making a Luka build with let's say 75 speed with ball will allow me to blow past defenders consistently with high ball handle and high strength?
Only thing I don’t like is that it’s easier to do realistic combos and shot creating because they binded combos into single inputs. This closes the skill gap because players that are not as good will be able to easily shot create. For example 2k24 I would Escape(input 1) then R stick cancel(input 2) into momentum cross (input 3) then do a double R stick move (input 4 and 5) to get to a desired hopstep move. Now you only need to hold Turbo and R stick up to do a whole similar sequence that took multiple inputs and timing. Oh well, I hope it opens new doors for the real skilled folks.
There’s this concern for sure, but I think real skilled guys will use that to their advantage! I’m all for accessibility, and I think there’s a level of depth we’ve yet to expose!
Curry’s dribble style and sigs looked great and incredibly crisp. Who do you think had the best movement and dribble sequences of all the players you used? Name a few if you can?
This is a great question. I think Curry for sure may overall be the best in terms of feeling smooth and looking smooth. D Fox might be another one that felt really clean to use. And Tyrese Maxey might be an underrated guy that people will be surprised with!
This is by far the best NBA 2k channel, now that shakedown is not posting. Though I'm not a huge fan of 2k, I know it's a game that can only be measured by the nuances. I've seen so many channels talking about it's the same thing, nothing new. As someone who is hardly excited for this new iteration, I can see a lot of changes in gameplay. I have one question. If you've played mycareer, do we have access to proplay jumpshots this year? I was upset to see that I could not access demar and klay's jumpshot animations on myplayer. Keep up the great content!
Thank you man! And I understand the complicated relationship between 2K and its fanbase so I see where you’re coming from! Yes, ProPLAY jumpers and animations should all be accessible in MyCareer. There are requirements for them however. So it’s usually locked behind a rating (mid range or three pointer) or height. This year they’ll be more transparent with what the requirements are for animations so you can build your myplayer around those requirements!
I need a prelude. It’s obvious to me why they stopped releasing it and only allowing selected content creators to review the game. Sure dribbling CONTROLS might be different but that doesn’t make a game FEEL different
@@KevinCruz016 you are absolutely correct. Which is why we need 2k to release preludes again. No offense to you but why should we have to depend on an approved content creator to make an informed decision about spending my money and more importantly my time on a game that is designed to exploit and extract as much money as they can from their player base?
Well, there's tons of videos that crap on the game before being out, and they didn't play the game. I don't know if my experience will translate to yours but I play 2K a specific way. So, am I wrong if I say that offense looks even more OP this year (with the new dribbles, phisicality etc.) and that with the only new defensive tool being something that it's too risky to use it will all result in another off ball defending fest online? This is going to the same direction as EA Fc, the devs are only interested to keep 13/14 year olds happy by letting them score all the time and don't seem to care about defense, at all 🙄
