Monster High is a popular fashion doll franchise created by Mattel, launched in 2010. The brand features a unique twist on the traditional doll market by focusing on characters who are the children of famous monsters from literature, folklore, and popular culture. The dolls are known for their edgy, gothic-inspired aesthetics, combining punk, glam, and various supernatural elements, which appealed to a wide range of audiences, especially those who enjoy alternative fashion and storytelling.
Set in the fictional high school of Monster High, the characters include favorites like Frankie Stein, the daughter of Frankenstein’s monster; Draculaura, the daughter of Dracula; Clawdeen Wolf, the daughter of a werewolf; and Lagoona Blue, the daughter of the Creature from the Black Lagoon. The narrative often revolves around the trials of fitting in, embracing one’s unique quirks, and dealing with typical teenage dilemmas-but all with a monster-themed twist.
The franchise spans not only the dolls but also animated web series, TV specials, movies, books, and a variety of merchandise, making it a cultural phenomenon. The storylines promote themes of acceptance, diversity, and self-expression, which resonate with fans of all ages.
In 2022, Monster High underwent a revival, including a new line of dolls with updated designs, a live-action movie, and a rebooted animated series, aiming to introduce the beloved characters to a new generation while still appealing to long-time fans of the franchise.
Vintage Star Wars toys are some of the most iconic and sought-after collectibles in the world of action figures and memorabilia. Produced by Kenner from 1978 to 1985, these toys were released in conjunction with the original Star Wars trilogy, starting with A New Hope and continuing through The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. Kenner's line of 3.75-inch action figures set a new standard in the toy industry, as most action figures at the time were significantly larger.
The original Star Wars toy line included not only action figures but also playsets, vehicles, and accessories that allowed fans to recreate scenes from the movies. Some of the most iconic toys include the Millennium Falcon, X-Wing Fighter, and TIE Fighter vehicles, as well as the Death Star Playset. The figures themselves included beloved characters like Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Darth Vader, Chewbacca, Yoda, and many more.
One of the most famous aspects of the vintage Star Wars toy line is the "Early Bird Certificate Package" released in 1977. Due to the unexpected popularity of the film, Kenner couldn’t produce toys in time for the holiday season, so they sold a mail-in certificate that allowed buyers to receive the first figures in early 1978. This marketing strategy became legendary in toy history.
As the original Star Wars trilogy progressed, the toy line expanded, featuring new characters, vehicles, and settings from each film. The line culminated in 1985 with the release of the "Power of the Force" figures, which included rare characters and accessories, such as collectible coins, making them highly sought after by collectors today.
Vintage Star Wars toys remain highly valuable on the collector’s market, with rare figures like Yak Face, Blue Snaggletooth, and vinyl-caped Jawa commanding premium prices. Additionally, the original packaging-often featuring artwork and photography from the films-is cherished by collectors. Figures still in their original, unopened packaging, especially those with rare card backs or misprints, are considered treasures.
Kenner's vintage Star Wars toys not only revolutionized the toy industry but also became a cornerstone of pop culture, with their influence still felt in modern-day toy collecting and Star Wars fandom.
Sometimes they just don’t want to be on camera…
Maybe he wasn't supposed to be selling that stuff.. Pulling the playmobile ship was odd.. he says, "My daughters still play with it." Meaning, my wife will definitely notice it's gone.. is what I'm thinking. Maybe it wasn't his collection. Either way, fun video as always.
@@tokindave45 quite a wild assumption. Some people just don't like being on camera. Probably because of comments like yours 😂
I’d probably ask the same. Just not a camera/tv person. Tried it once before and found myself not being me so I learnt from that……never again
@@shortinos wild assumptions are just part of what I bring to the party..
That's okay. As you guys said, there are several reasons why someone wouldn't want to be filmed. It's cool.
Thanks for showing the toys to the camera when you talk about them. More of that please.
"I couldn't tell you when I've sold a Jyn Erso." 😄
This was a hard watch. That negotiation was brutal.
😆I was uncomfortable. I work in sales and I could feel the tension.
@@drewthomp When he started pulling stuff back… that was the part for me.
Ryan handled it like a pro.
Agree & felt the same... @@drewthomp
I think many people dont know how much work it is for you to clean the stuff, repair and and then find someone who buys it.... i dont collect toys but really love all the vids you make :)
This guy just wanted to pick your brain about price, the stuff he was selling was not a big deal to begin with, your offer was very fair.
That's a dope giveaway!!! That book is amazing!
I was thinking like, "How come I can't skip this Monster High ad?" 😂😂😂
Don’t know why people are acting like that guys some big jerk for wanting to know how Ryan landed at the price he did and wanting him to break it down for him a little bit. there’s nothing wrong with that and some of the stuff he apparently wasn’t comfortable with what Ryan had it priced at (or was willing to give him) so he decided to hang on to that stuff. again there’s nothing wrong with that he’s not obligated to sell anything just because he brought it through the door
You handled that very well. I don't know if most toy stores would have any patience to spend time explaining each items like that.
Why did you stand that way?
Love seeing the commercials for the line back clipped in. Also, love the new mosterverse Godzilla on the floor.
there was always a kid in the neighborhood who could tell you everything about the toys he had and probably knew more about your toys than you did. i'm so glad that there are people in the world who allow the child in them help guide them through adulthood. ryan has taken the toys r us theme to heart and created a space for people to trade their toys. bravo! : )
What a waste of everyone's time. Dont be that guy. 😂😂 The toys the daughter could play with should not have walked in the door. He wants top dollar he should just sell it online himself.
Thanks for another great Saturday morning. That book looks insane
Low key "Joe High" wins best quip for this episode
I always wonder how are his knees not totally shot doing all these trades
Just used to it I guess ;)
I was expecting him to back out of everything, does that happen often?
Perfect combo Saturday morning + a new ToyFederation video!
Looking through some of the comments, it's easy to see why the customer didn't want to be filmed. Gracious.
I think it would be so surreal to bring you my entire LJN collection and watch you go through it while being on camera 😆 Then I go home and watch the episode on youtube some Saturday morning a month from now 😅 Love your videos! Keep up the good work🤟
This guy thought he was going to hit the lottery with this haul. Hahahahaha
If you want to make the most, for your toys, be patient and sell them on your own.
Me: Moving to S.C to be the Toy Federation, "Star Wars Man".
$800 wasn't a bad offer
That book looks awesome! Great video, thanks!
dont miss out on the chance to win that G.I Joe book damn.
Not the dolls 😂😂😂😂😂😂
I bought that GI Joe book for myself for my birthday in November and it came earlier than I thought. Most money I've ever paid for a book but it's worth every penny. But one of the biggest things I've tried to put on my shelf too.
Good grab on the knight rider car doors are usually missing 👍🏻 SC from Santa Cruz CA. Ryan 😂
One day that HeroQuest will sell.
That guy was a complete time waster
Nothing like knowing you’re gonna have a toy federation video on a Saturday :3
Sunday morning Australia 🇦🇺 for me😅...love this channel 👍
@@jeremylambden2284haha, same for me. First thing I do Sunday morning, makes my wife roll her eyes. Lol
GI-JOE/COBRA rules!!! My go too for collecting!!! 🐍 😎 👍
Thanks goodness all customers aren't like this one. You know he looked this stuff up on eBay and went with the highest priced buy it now on there on every item LOL
The Captain Spaulding in the background in the corner!!! How much?!! How do you go about bring a bigger collection? Do you need to make an appointment? I’m from Ohio.
Dammmm not everyones childhood is the same...
Love watching your videos. Wish you could do more closeup when discussing things like a figure so we can see what is good/wrong with them.
Great as always
How you stayed so calm is a miracle 😂 I was about to smash my phone watching it lol. But as always epic video.... Nice to see the toys
Damn! That seller was annoying
AND CHEAP
Great stuff!!
I'm no expert but even before the price breakdown I thought $800 was a very good offer.
How about don’t take it in if you’re not going to sell it!
What?
@@toyfederationI think they mean the guy shouldn’t take it in if he doesn’t want to sell it too you.
Who?@@toyfederation
@@dreday2706 When?
Why?
I think that was a way fair Offer.
Knight Rider 😍😍😍😍
Another great video is the podcast gone forever or just on hiatus ?
Sweet 😊
There's no TMNT collectors? Only Transformers, GI Joe, and Star Wars?
What are you talking about? 😂🤣
You just mentioned the three most popular ones-of course, there are more people who collect GI Joe, Star Wars, and especially Transformers.
Notice anything?
There are plenty of videos on this channel where TMNT is discussed or someone brings in a collection/figures.
1. Different regions of the country collect things more than other regions
2. It's really hard to bring in complete TMNT. They're so many accessories.
Nobody wants to sell their tmnt. That’s for keeps 😊
Hey guys. Will AFA be at your Con again this year like they were last year?
You have the patience of a saint and are always so kind. If people don’t like the deal then sell it on your own. Don’t complain. I hate people who hem a haw over this stuff. There is so much risk buying and selling vintage toys especially in this economy. Keep up the good work! ❤
Why because that guy knows what his stuffs worth and knows what Ryan will sell it for and wants a little bit better of a deal! There’s nothing wrong with that and don’t gimme that economy crap that Star Wars stuff sells the minute he puts it out on the shelf! He’s not taking any risk what so ever! It’s not funko pops it’s nice clean minty fresh vintage Star Wars dude!
@@George-de6hd He should sell it outright then on an auction site or marketplace. It's common knowledge that if you sell to a dealer you aren't going to get market price. You can't complain when you know this going in.
@@ChadSturek and I’m sure he’s going to do that now with the stuff he didn’t sell and I didn’t see him complaining and neither am I but everyone in the comments is acting like that guy was the world’s biggest asshole ….some of the stuff he didn’t want to part with after he got the price Ryan gave him 🤷🏻 so he took that stuff home with him and sold the rest. Nothing wrong with that! Looking at people stuff and giving them a price is part of what Ryan does and it doesn’t mean that guy is then obligated to sell it to him ……sorry Ryan is not the vintage toy god ……and actually his prices on that stuff was pretty lowball and that dudes stuff was pretty minty fresh(for the most part)
@@ChadSturek nothing wrong with just saying $800 can you break that down for me a little and let me know how you came up with that number ……sorry but that’s not “complaining” or being “annoying” that called not being a dumbass…..maybe ass a professional business owner he should get up off the floor and conduct his business a little more professionally and give people a breakdown of what I’m buying and paying for the stuff …oh no that’s all a big secret because at the end of the day he’s ripping you off and has every excuse in the book why ….”you should know that you are getting fucked over on the way in and if you don’t it’s your fault” sounds like a fucking scumbag , shitty way of thinking and conducting business to me
Do you have a link to your eBay store? Thanks.
you could very easily chemically treat old toys and deyellow them without needing to swap out anything
We do when we can
White Out from the dollar store...just brush it on
YO JOE!!!!!!
😱😍
massive fan of monster high.
People who use the term "My wife" should not be selling or negotiating a price, the wife I guaranteed would have taken less
Them Monster High dolls sums up right there why he didn’t want to be on camera 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
SIR YOUR DAUGHTER WILL LOVE THIS DOLL….
Someone buy that Heroquest
these toys are mass produced and not valuable, I'm glad prices have come down personally…the economy is fine
fire whoever does your audio
Why?
@@toyfederation Cause he consistently screws it up. Here's a new game, every video Matt goofs the audio on, should be a freebee for you guys. That'll get his act together REAL quick.
Did I hear Scott Hall/Razor Ramon Hey Yo at 16:32?
You hear it in a lot of episodes. It's Andy's text sound.
@@toyfederation First time picking up the sound on my end. Cool AF!
Haha. Glad you enjoyed it!
Seems like you should have charged him an apraisal fee lol. I know part of it was he was clearly expecting significantly more but the "my daughter sometimes plays with X and Y a bit" followed by him trying to go item by item to get a price was so he could resell it himself. I doubt you care since you get it probbably frequently but your basically being used as a free encyclopedia / blue book lol.
Why can't Prices be Disclosed? That's why there is Consumer laws....customers have Freedom of choice and can compare prices freely....but for some reason Medical and Medical Insurances do not disclose individual prices and charges until the end, Not up Front...You just get an outrageous Bill at the end. Is that Fair?
Your comment has no value, and the fair market shows that you are indeed worthless.
@@playmorecollectibles6144 Sir, this is a Wendys.
How the fuck did we get into healthcare insurance lol. All the gibberish you just posted has literally nothing to do with the secondary market, and all his prices for the stuff HE has for sale are posted lol.
Didn't even seme like Ryan cared, but how would you like it if you were running a business and 40 minutes of your time went unpaid because someone had "the right" to get your opinion on something, makes literally no sense - but based off the shit you posted im not sure why im even trying to talk sense into you.
I’m sure the guy has his own phone or computer and the ability to check what his items are going for. I would want a breakdown on the prices as well, no different than asking prices at a garage sale.
Kool video. YO JOE.
Monster High stuff might not be my thing, but it's a cool concept and they have a big fanbase. I love Mighty Max, and I'm sure a lot of people are not fans of that property. I'm not gonna yuck someone's yum.
Was it just me or did this video have like 10 ads
I dont understand whos buying these vintage toys i cant find a kid anywhere that interested in that i asked them about gi joe figures they never heard of it? what am i missing here?
That guy was waffling on stuff and pulling some things out of the deal, and hemming and hawwing on the price. You've got the patience of a saint!
Wow, the Imperial shuttle is a lot bigger than I thought. And the Star Destroyer is smaller than I expected.
I need to pick up a complete set of those Christopher Reeve Superman cards at some point. That’s my favorite Superman of all time
Monster High is super cool. Love anything that has to do with Universal Monsters.
Love more content, but man this guy was major capping. Does it bother you when you go through all of it just for them to back out?
No more PODCASTS ????
Not everyone wants to be in a video i don't blame the guy ! Seems like everything has to be on video these days no one wants that lol
What’s your eBay seller ID?..
Nice giveaway.
Shouldnt bother with star wars thats not from the 80s
Having deep knowledge of Monster High is something you dont want to admit to unless your a 9 year old girl 😂
right there with you.
Not if you like money!!!! some of them go got hundreds of dollars and have a big fanbase and collectors market
U guys start my Saturdays out right everytime!! Ty
Despite the disturbing, unnerving freaky fusion, monster high hideousness I enjoyed the content 😂❤

Question: Why don't you guys sell accessories?
We need them to complete toys
@toyfederation complete my toys lol ♥️
No can do! Haha
Monster High commercial was a little jarring and out of place.
We got a monster high collection. Did you see that part?
I liked it.
@@toyfederationhahahhahahah
I don’t like the title of this video…. It paint s the picture that this guy is a bad person . If someone was trying to film me I wouldn’t be my normal self.
how is a millenium falcon 40 bucks that doesnt make any sense to me? i wish i could buy one for 40
It's a modern one and it's not complete.
I've seen plenty of those. Look harder.
Dude didn’t want to be on camera cuz he ganked his kids toys. Plausible deniability.
As someone who had a mom take stuff of mine to the pawn shop regularly, I feel that.
Although I’m sure she would have loved to be on camera doing it. Because look at me!
I certainly didn’t have the worst childhood, but it wasn’t all roses either lol…
@@therealtimmy13 it was the other way for me. I sold all my stuff when I was a broke drug addict. All the stuff I had. At least now I can buy it back, but at 10x the price. Sorry you had to go through that.
@@therealtimmy13 I love when your mother gets rid of your card collection because she assumes you've outgrown it.
you lot low ball everyone
Thrives dont like cameras
i sure wish i lived by you guys. it would be a blessing. all those cool toys plus the 30 to 40 totes of well stored spotless toys that i have. i could bring in one tote a week for about a year. i just put up kenner vintage super powers plastic man on a fb page for kenner super powers. 100 for mint plastic man. his head still pops up. 125 i am doing 2 penguin. one joker. and plastic man. a few are interested but none are close by and i was doing local pick up only. cash etc. but if i had you guys around. every load i would bring in you would love and say wow each figure is in its own ziploc bag. stored perfectly. spotless etc. make my life a lot easier if i could have a store like you close.
Whats your FB page? I like well taken care of toys
There should be a breakdown sheet to show price of each item and just because you have 10 of an item or it dont sell at your store dont mean you should get it for free
What?
I think he’s TRYING to say that bundling instead of itemizing can trick some sellers because some sellers aren’t adults capable of realizing basic things and you should do it for them.
And then he threw in something about your inventory excess not meaning you get something for free.
Because stuff you don’t sell well should get more money than zero, I guess?
It didn’t make much sense
It's nice that you show both sides of the coin. As you're going through the stuff you're adding it up in your head and you're like a little kid on Christmas Day. When you and your business partners are adding up numbers in your head and you both come up with one. It's not the most honest numbers.. with that being said business is business 😉 ,🤜🏼🤛🏼
Kinda sus he doesn't want to be on camera.
Not at all. Most people of a certain age don’t want the unnecessary attention
Sus? 🤣😂Some people are just delulu...
I don't like to be 'on camera' too - How am i 'sus' because of that? It feels awkward, some people are insecure or shy or whatever.
Simple as that.
if you were getting bent over would you want to be on camera? Not even a reach around either. ;)

And.....
