Back in the early 486 days my pal had a dual motherboard/dual boot case intended for servers. Imagine 2 of the 900 cases side by side, it had casters to roll it around cause it was too heavy.😂
I would like to see Jay design his " perfect " case. Even if it was a basic layout. like the minimums he'd require. I'm really liking how this one can lay down and if it's on your desk could work as a space heater in the winter, and stand it up in the warmer months.
Yes, we are asking for it! Please, reverse flow fans as individuals and 3 packs 😊😊😊 Also, yes, illuminated be quiet on the power button side (please not on the glass, I like clean glass and etch my own designs when I do). It's so pretty on its side, I've been waiting patiently for soomeone to do that.
Dude! That's awesome to have tooling folks from manufacturers who really want to listen to what consumers want/would think is cool. Do more of these, please! Side note: Love the beers with cheers!
BeQuiet bringing the Quality which is much needed in these trying times of building new builds! Good stuff! That build looks clean. Put some blue in it and call it R2D4. It has upgrades. I am running a build I call the STORMTROOPER. If you name your builds it makes them memorable. I had a Gold one that was C3PNO because it booted weird. Every 3rd boot no usb worked. It took forever to figure that out. Turned out I just had to rebuild the entire system! lol
Fun Fact but a little off topic: Did you know that Ewoks are just wookie Tweens? That is what could save Disney Star Wars for real though. Baby Wookies. Cash cow big time.
I'm all for Bequiet listening and sharpening up their gear for us to want to buy their products. That's how you bring in customers, let us see what they offer, provide constructive criticism and wants we'd like to see. Then next year get hyped as those fixes and new features show up.
ive been a big fan of BeQuiet. I really wanted a dark base pro 900 v2 but just couldn't get past the $300+ price tag. I've been using their coolers, fans, and power supplies and have had no issues.
That was freaking awesome. Reviewing a case, providing feedback to the manufacturer, shooting the breeze and having fun... I think you guys enjoyed doing it as much as I did watching it. Also Weinstephaner is a lovely beer. Idea for next video: Feed Phil copious amounts of alcohol and make him build and test a PC. He's a little lad, he won't need much beer! He will also be really easy to carry home
I remember seeing a tiny drawer that fit in the 5.25" drive bays in a microcenter years ago. I enjoyed the idea even though my case doesn't have the drive bays anymore
@@robcollins7680 I had a Thermaltake case in the early 2000's. It was a custom Kandalf case with a 360mm cooling system built in and the 5.25 drawer on top. 56lbs empty.
@@questargon The drawer or tray is pretty accessible regardless. I just watched a video on the Pop Air. You could always attach the tray to the magnet cover so it leaves with it when you open it. It's seems like a rare feature, you may have to accept it as is or modify to work as you ideally want. I wanted a top i/o case and had a similar dilemma with almost no options. I had to compromise a good bit. If the drawer is important, the Pop seems like a great place to build from and customize imo. Ultimately it fits two 5.25 drives, I imagine someone has designed a storage tray for that size slot- if not the Pop Ait specifically.
be quiet! is one of my fave brands. Just picked up a metric ton of their Silent Wings 4 Pro fans to optimize my liquid cooling setup! The Dark Base Pro 900 is a beautiful case, I really enjoyed building my secondary system in it!
Damn! As someone who owns the Lian Li O11 case, I have not seen a single case so far that I wanted instead of it. But this one!? I WANT IT! I want it so bad! It's incredibly awesome in so many ways! I dare to say it's actually as revolutionizing as the Lian Li O11 was right when it had just launched!
All my towers are already in desktop "configuration". Four felt furniture pads are all you need. Fans are happier oriented vertically, which in conventional layout happens with a tower on its side. Also heavy video cards no longer have an issue, or need for a support. Worried about your PSU sucking dust, no longer an issue. A server rack full of towers like this is an aspiration.
Haha agreed, i have their pureloop2 AIO n love it except for the sticker on every fan! its interesting to see they seem to have gone back to pump directly on block too mines is on the loop cables.
Jay you always manage to take promo videos and bring brutal honest to the reps. Helps that Kevin from BeQuiet is so on it and actually a great guest (and dare I say co-host?!). Amazing how a real deal excited representative can sell a case without selling it. Also, I am totally here for this massive horizontal mount return! Slap a Packard Bell badge on it and we’re back to the early 90’s
Always build my pcs with bequiet. Always a bequiet psu and bequiet fans and cpu cooler for over a decade. It's always been a bang for tghe buck and I never got dissapointed. Also build a pc for a friend a year ago with a 60€ or 70€ bequiet case and the case was freaking awesome for that price! Am a German myself and BeQuiet really stands for made in Germany. What a great company!
Old school here, but with it laying flat, I want the option for CD/DVD drives on the front. Also, an optional front panel to add physical controls for audio.
You want a Cooler Master HAF XB EVO ... This is the case I use and it is mostly flawless (not well laid out for AIOs, but you don't need one if you populate the 240mm top fan mount).
Love the 900 case! Laying it on its side reminds me of my old Cray Computer I had in the early 90's. Love how Jay is nostalgic about being a Gen X! I too fit in that category and remember the glory days of big bulky beige boxes, cradle modems, and BBS's! LOL!!
I loved the the old school (or just old TBH) look of the classic desktop case (as apposed to the tower look). Silverstone still rocks a lot of these old style type of cases but they haven't upgraded these style of cases in a long while. This case looks EXACTLY what I've been hoping for... when are they being released? I have money to spend!
I finally found a replacement for my HAF-XB case from coolermaster. Ive been using this case since my sandy-bridge (which I still use as a backup gaming machine)
When using the desktop configuration, I would like to see an option to add fans on the top instead of it just being glass. Reason being is that I would probably not want hot air being exhausted either left or right but rather to the back or through the top. The back is not great because of the PCI slots and I/O slot so you really only get the 120/140mm there. The top would be ideal if instead of a full glass panel, a 360mm area was allowed at the back for fans to exhaust upward in a partial metal/glass combo or just a full metal panel as an optional accessory for the case. Just my two cents! (ha ha I made a funny!)
I wonder if you could just ask them for an additional back panel and the mounting would still work - it's ventilated already so maybe a thin dust filter mesh to hot glue on the inside to stop the dust build up and it would work...
I love the way the white case looks. I would make the corner where the glass panels meet, round, so that the airflow from the 3 fans next to the motherboard, actually reaches the GPU.
I chose Be Quiet Light wings Fans for my recent build and They are the BEST Fans out there. period. Solid, Quiet, efficient and they cool quite well. Almost kicking myself for not buying a Be Quiet case too. Certainly kicking myself for not using Be Quiet fans before now. Great Video as usual Jay.
I love this so much like honestly, after so much shit in the industry lately this hit me like a breeze of fresh air. I never cared much about Be Quite products before, but after seeing how down to earth and honest Kevin was he got my respect and for the brand. Also the case brought me back to the old days it looks amazing! Nice touch with the beer too 😂 World needs more vids like this now haha
To be honest, since Lian Li was the first company to come up with this design aesthetic, other companies would be copying at this point. Does not matter what you do to change the interior. However, the flat setup in the be quiet is sick!
I absolutely love these cases. I would love to have a build just like the one you guys put together. I love that retro look (born in 80 myself) and the RGB is perfect. Well done Be Quiet!
I'm running an old Corsair Air-540 on it's back panel, I added spacer feet for the PSU cooling panel, but it's worked great for years! I'm ready for an upgrade though, and this looks like the absolute perfect fit. My setup is on a custom shelf below my glass top office desk, which allows a nice view to the window of the case. The price is a bit steep for the 900, but I might have to bite the bullet and upgrade to this; especially since I just built a new X870 7950x3d 4080 super machine.
To solve the horizontal layout with a vertical gpu bracket, they could ship a vertical adjusting bracket with the vertical gpu bracket that would go in place of the horizontal bracket. I honestly would love to see a video card looking like it's floating above the motherboard. Awesome cases BeQuiet, keep up the great work!
love horizontal cases like that. I used to have a case called a coolermaster HAF XB, the motherboard was horizontal and the hard drives and psu were on a separate layer underneath. loved the look of that case.
It's all about how much you care about your case. They are nice looking cases. I'm still rocking a £50 generic 3 fans in front and one exhaust case for the last 4 years. It works fine for me.
Be Quiet fans are some of the best I've ever used. Even the older ones hold up for sound, but also move tremendous volumes of air. I use a set of Silent Wings3 120mm's next to my Iceberg Thermal IceGALE 120mm's, (which are some of the most powerful and well designed fans I've ever used).
Having enough fan headers in the case for 12 RGB fans is honestly such a quality of life improvement. I actually might ditch my old PC-O11 for this one. Really love the RGB stripes runing around the case!
I don't have any desire or room to have a horizontally-laid PC case, but this thing is awesome. I'm so tired of the fish tank cases, but this one does literally everything right. So cool. Also, Kevin is awesome! More videos with him lol. The whole "Build & Talk format is amazing, I wish more company reps would do this. It's like a shorter podcast, but also doing something while you're talking lol.
I love be quiet! I've sold easily 50 if their pure base 500 series if cases... One of my favorite cases to build in. I'll definitely be picking these up
My first PC job was a non profit recycler. We dismantled everything from 80s and up. I miss Desktop format cases. I want the black one with black RGB fans glowing orange for that old school aesthetic. If there's a black n wood theme... Omg
This is definitely one of the coolest cases I have seen in years. Loved the video and the friendly fun and laughter in it. My one critique for Be Quiet would be to make your white fans have white Be Quiet writing on the fan hub sticker instead of the black. This will likely be my next case, assuming thermals are good.
I will admit, I'm not big on the "Fish tanks", but this is the 1st one I would seriously consider. Unfortunately I don't have room on my desk, and yes I'd have it on it's back lol. But very nice job Be Quiet!
Also a possible remedy for the illuminated Be Quiet Logo would be to have it as a moveable module. Pop it out and put it to the areas Jay suggested, switching the Brushed Aluminium plate in its place, can just relocate it about the place. Left of the front I/O, right of the front IO etc.
LOVE my BeQuiet case, fans, and CPU cooler. Thing's quiet at MAX fan speed during torture tests with NO problem with temps. Also, this brand rep is dope. Would love to see him return.
Jay has the same mentality over "room for a fan" as the US Navy did for deck space and AA guns in WW2. (this is a good thing - it helped the Navy's ships then and it helps Jay's rigs now)
I wanted to buy Lightbase 900 when i saw it at computex but was in rush to build my new PC and ended with Lian Li o11 Dynamic Evo XL and dont regret that at all. 3x 140mm TL-LCD fans on side and 3x140 TL bottom plus 420Aio (Arctic Liquid Freezer III) with push-pull 3x140mm TL fans (arctic fans changed to TL fans) on top all synced with LConnect3 looking sick. I love that case and fact that you have abillity to move whole motherboard tray, build it outside and then put inside in 3 different poitions. Slightly tinted glass window, and that stealth black brushed steel panels is so dope. Wasn't cheap but 100% worth it. Jumped from PC builded in Corsair 780T, thats whole different era and im amazed how PC market evolved in that 8 years. In future im looking for custom loop in that case (3x420 rads) - i think about rtx5090 fe on waterblock, but for now rtx 4080S Gaming OC have to be enough.
One thing that would be cool to see, was if it was possible to be able to get some kind of harddrive storage kit for it, for where the side fans are with a cover for them. The reason for saying so, it would be cool to turn the case onto its side, and then use it for some kind of storage server. Then having a bunch of harddrives vertically mounted in the dip, where the bottom fans (originally side fans) are placed, and then a add a cover on top, so you don't see the bare harddrives.
Ok, @1:50 as per your request Jay. Here in Brazil but directly from Privatbraueri Erdinger Weissbräu, a Mit Feiner Hefe Weißbier. Prost!! Live long and prosper!🖖
My Fiancee and I have been looking at this since it's been announced. We wondered if we could stack them on top of each other while on it's "back" (horizontal config). After watching this, I am so excited to get my hands on ours!
First case i've seen that genuinely looks amazing in every single orientation. If i could afford to build a system like this, this case would absolutely be my choice.
How about a cut out piece of the aluminum panel, that is a magnetic version of the lighted logo that can be flipped or put in those locations? Maybe a blank aluminum magnetic filler panel piece to put there the other lighted on was as-well.
This looks great. Well done Kevin and beQuiet!. Whilst I don't have any of their fans i have one of their psu and been happy with it. If i had the funds to replace my case, one of these would be a contender, though both too big to go on my desk, but I think some brackets should work underneath.
Not me immediately going...ooooo that's cool..... then immediately thinking to mount it to shelf from underneath and have it out of the way from my variable height desk and be able to look up and see into it. Just hope those horizontal holes can support the weight of the build.
I've been reusing my Corsair Obsidian 750D for a decade now mainly cause I'm weary of glass panels. Always thought I'd break which I did exactly that less than 24 hours after finishing a 5000D case build. This makes me want to try glass cases again. Also Nick with that T-shirt timing plug
I love Be Quiet fans! I have 6x140mm white Be Quiet Light wings and 5x120mm white light wings in my Lian Li 011 Dynamic Evo XL and they're silent, keeps everything cool and they look amazing!
When on its side the case need to be exactly the width of AV components. Having a dual purpose case like that is really nice. Zalman used to make HTPC cases back in the day. A case under your desk works really well and adding a nice AV amp will complement the setup. I am currently using an AV amp with power amp setup. The AV receiver will process surround with games that supports it, making a sound card/onboard redundant. When this case is used as an HTPC the RGB should just be disabled 😄
Pouring the best water while I sit beside my newborn son and sleeping wife in the hospital. Thanks for making incredible content that gets me through the early stages of child rearing Jay, Nick and Phil!
On Jay’s logo idea: Take from the LCD idea on the graphics card. Make the logo be an aluminum piece with magnets and pogo pins so you can move it to various spots on the case. If you move it from spot X to Y, just have a matching plain aluminum blank with magnets and no Pogo pins. Also, maybe make optional panels that can swap in with LCD’s or customizable light bars. Maybe even moving the button modules and ports too? Just some ideas.
Kevin was awesome as is that case, I LOVE that slatted look, reminds me of the OG Atari 2600, and well everything of that era haha. An optional panel in wood would look amazeballs.
Finally, some case review/actual look at the case. I love BeQuiet for giving us stuff that is very "obvious" but nobody else does. Earlier this year I bought a PureLoop 2 FX AiO and it also comes with a bottle of fluid as well as a note in the manual telling you how you know it's time to top it up. The new cases obviously aren't exactly cheap, but they're also not ridiculously expensive and honestly, I've had BeQuiet air coolers and case fans for years and as mentioned an AiO for about half a year now, and they just work beautifully, they perform exactly as advertised and I've never had a BeQuiet part fail, ever. So my next case will pretty certainly be one of these, although I am not yet sure which orientation I want - and the big question is: will I transfer my current system (with some changes) or will I build a new system right away?
I like the look of this case! Enough to consider it for my next build. It's be cool to see a solid panel available for the "top" while it's in a horizontal configuration because then you'd really make it the centerpiece of your desk or entertainment system by setting stuff on top of it, like a monitor! It'd probably need to be a bit reinforced though...
Really fun video, love the jokes and the discussion! I've appreciated what Be Quiet! does for a long time, especially the whole quiet part, and the modifiability of their cases. It's nice to see that they're keen on developing new ideas and new takes. These cases clearly have a lot of thought put into them, and that light strip motif is a huge eye catcher. Although I suspect sunglasses might become a necessity if too close to such a case for any extended period of time. Perhaps sunblock too? Two thoughts / ideas / questions about the design: - With the lit up logo on the top / side trim, if the end part of that trim to be separate and movable to the front of the case, it might not be too heavy on added cost? Since they're all pro case-orientation-choice, maybe go in all the way with it. - The way the case is oriented when on it's back, it would look much nicer if the back of the case was more uniform. The single off to one side fan kinda makes it unbalanced, although I understand that were the CPU aircooled, it'd be pretty much a must. I don't think anyone who buys this case will have it in this orientation and air cool it though, right? Oh, and the black PSU in an otherwise entirely white build... that's an oofer right there. No discussion on price though? Was that one of the "can't talk about it" deets? Was a little vague on whether this video sponsored by the Be Quiet! or not? That Phil port on the AIO, hell yes, instantly favorite AIO manufacturer, thank you! Thank you for a fantastic video, and a very interesting looking new design on a market saturated by copy+paste, as stated by people much smarter than I am. edit: oh, and I forgot to mention that Phil edit on the ch-ch-ch-ch, that was gold!
i love it .. that "case on its side" is exactly what i want .. the only thing i would still wish for is a 3 sides + top glass box for a totally unobstructed view of my hardware ^^
Yes, definitely release reverse bladed fans. If it were an option when I was building my PC, I'd definitely get a few. But also, apart from the sticker (which I covered with another sticker), the back side of Light Wings looks slick too
Thumbs up for the bubble noise montage :D Also: very nice to have a "human" guest as a company representative. Nice energy between you :) Man... White builds are so much prettier than black :D
I like the video! Just finished searching for an 'old guy' case that has 5.25'' bays and ACRYLLIC! instead of glass, and picked a be quiet pure base window orange. Other than the glass, I like it!
when i saw this case be showcased at computex i knew i needed to have my new build in it, love the horizontal layout. bought it when it finally went on sale, and oddly enough it was just delivered today XD

The white version would not go well with the living room in an HTPC orientation since you're TV will be black as well as your speakers and soundbar.
It would be great if it could support a monitor on top, but doesn't look like it
@@JoeStuffzAlt Switch the glass panel for a steel one and it'd be perfect
@@michael9317 tempered glass is strong enough to handle the weight of a monitor, granted i wouldn't be comfortable with doing so but it would be fine.
Hear hear!
13:11 petition to make a loop of that for 1 hour
Jay brother that intro is fire, that '' haloo '' almost made me choke on my beer.
😂 that thumbnail killed me
I ALWAYS want a tiny drawer on these cases that i can put thumb drives and maybe small type c cables or things like that.
Thr Fractal Pop line has a drawer option
@@highpraise-highcritic Yeah, but it is behind a panel you have to take off. 😕
BeQuiet is always ready for Halloween with the black and orange colors.
AIO fill port! Finally! Thank you!
Just remember that beer in your loop is not the best way to keep it cold.
There is a couple out that has it enermax has one with a vrm fan on the pump I think there is another one too idk the name tho
Huh!! You mean finally for BeQuiet.
@@johnt.848 Well, beQuiet had fill ports in their loops for years now. I'm not sure they released an AIO without one ever
I don't think I've ever had to fill an AIO before, isn't that the point of an AIO?
Always build my pcs with bequiet. Always a bequiet psu and bequiet fans and cpu cooler for over a decade. It's always been a bang for tghe buck and I never got dissapointed. Also build a pc for a friend a year ago with a 60€ or 70€ bequiet case and the case was freaking awesome for that price! Am a German myself and BeQuiet really stands for made in Germany. What a great company!
Same. I have the Pure Base 500. Now if we could only fix Crytek so we could have some good games to go with our be quiet! PC's.

💯💯💯 I'm forever grateful to Phil for editing that in
Yesss
By far! 😂
A new nightmare sound! How awesome. 😵💫
Now do techno remix like Strong Bad style.
I've had a ThermalTake Core P5 case with hard line water-cooling for about 6yrs now... THIS case might be the one that gets me to rebuild. I LOVE IT!
Whilst essentially an advert for Be Quiet, more entertaining video with Kevin there despite turning up with insufficient number of beers.
A Texan would say. "All glass, no beer", possibly.
And this is why be quiet ! is my fav compagny about PC components maker. Love you guys
Old school here, but with it laying flat, I want the option for CD/DVD drives on the front. Also, an optional front panel to add physical controls for audio.
Are you going to put Windows Media Center on it? 🤭
Yea, it's probably less than 1% that would find any use of that so just go with a usb cd drives
You want a Cooler Master HAF XB EVO ... This is the case I use and it is mostly flawless (not well laid out for AIOs, but you don't need one if you populate the 240mm top fan mount).
Correct opinion.
Get the front panel to take a laptop drive and just need to not have the fans on the bottom would be cool
Love the 900 case! Laying it on its side reminds me of my old Cray Computer I had in the early 90's.
Love how Jay is nostalgic about being a Gen X! I too fit in that category and remember the glory days of big bulky beige boxes, cradle modems, and BBS's! LOL!!
Jay out here drinking Weihenstephaner Hefeweizen, you have my utmost respect sir!!!
Jay glad to see you doing well and happy!
What a delight of a videa from beginnnig to end. We really need more PR people like Kevin.
I finally found a replacement for my HAF-XB case from coolermaster. Ive been using this case since my sandy-bridge (which I still use as a backup gaming machine)
I love that horizontal look, fantastic blend of retro and contemporary. That is my next case without a doubt.
Might just buy this case for my next build that's like 4 years out

Jay on the thumbnail looking like he drinks at The Mos Eisely Cantina.
😂👍
I chose Be Quiet Light wings Fans for my recent build and They are the BEST Fans out there. period. Solid, Quiet, efficient and they cool quite well. Almost kicking myself for not buying a Be Quiet case too. Certainly kicking myself for not using Be Quiet fans before now. Great Video as usual Jay.
Weihenstephaner is such a damn good beer
Absolutely! Have you tried Augustiner or Tegernseeer as well?
Weihenstephaner is the oldest brewery in the world. Like 4 times the age of the USA. 😊
Augustiner is very nice ^^
First time I had it was on tap in Munich. Glorious!

I love beQuiet!! I have their air cooler, fans, and case and couldn't be happier with them.
Kevin is AWESOME big fan!!! also Jay is cool too of course
I use a set of Silent Wings3 120mm's next to my Iceberg Thermal IceGALE 120mm's, (which are some of the most powerful and well designed fans I've ever used).
all the bequiet stuff ive had, power supply and case 801. love it. quality.
Having enough fan headers in the case for 12 RGB fans is honestly such a quality of life improvement. I actually might ditch my old PC-O11 for this one. Really love the RGB stripes runing around the case!
My "bevy" of choice......COFFEE!!!!!
That thing is SIIIIIIIICK!!!! Orienting it horizontally with the LED effects looks sooooo good!!!!!
That is most relaxed that I have seen Jay in a long time. Must be the Zen nature of Be Quiet.
Yes! At last, a symmetrical case for horizontal format...
And we definitely need the reverse fans available separately!
25:18 completely agree with Jay, 100% needs to have the logo illuminated
Great idea. I really like the silverstone cases with that orientation but for anyone that wants to show off their nice rig, this is awesome
As soon as I saw the case go on it's back I was like "ooohhhhh I need to have one." That's so nice!
On Jay’s logo idea:
Take from the LCD idea on the graphics card.
I don't usually get excited about cases, but at 4:17 I literally went "Oooooh!" Hahaha. I really like that. Nice work, BeQuiet.
Two thoughts / ideas / questions about the design:
- With the lit up logo on the top / side trim, if the end part of that trim to be separate and movable to the front of the case, it might not be too heavy on added cost?
But also, apart from the sticker (which I covered with another sticker), the back side of Light Wings looks slick too
I like this case in black with the amber rgb scheme... gives off that old school warm vacuum tube look.
Thumbs up for the bubble noise montage :D
Also: very nice to have a "human" guest as a company representative. Nice energy between you :)
Man... White builds are so much prettier than black :D
I LOVE the look of this case. I want to get a big desk and this case in the future.
