  • Just an informal video where I talk about what I’m seeing with greater than 1000 hz polling rates and what I’d like to see from future ergos on the shape side.

Note if you use a polling rate above 1000 Hz you may need some additional configuration to see a difference as per: www.techpowerup.com/review/razer-deathadder-v3/6.html
In my case I see the difference in camera animation jitter when tracking a vertical object in the distance then panning the camera back and forth at very high framerates on a G-Sync panel.
Regarding modern ergo shapes, I find they tend to be too tall and too narrow for a truly comfortable relaxed fingertip grip. Solid if you favor a claw grip though.

Perfect analysis. I have the exact same complaints (and hand size). Hope you keep posting and let us know if you find something better than the DA. I've bought several mice including those shown here, and keep going back to my heavy, old DA Elite... Pretty sure my end game would be a ~60g, wireless, high poll rate, no RGB, no software, mechanical switch, original DA shape.

Thanks man, yeah sadly it seems most ergos these days are not primarily focused on relaxed fingertip grip/palm and they’re just not wide enough in the right most direction and/or they feel uncomfortably tall like the EC1. I’ll let you know if I find something better down the road.

i think that the pulsar xlite v3 large might be a good in-between. from what ive seen is that the edge near the rmb is curved (although not longer like the g502). and the dimensions are quite similar to the dav3

Thanks a lot I’ll take a look at that

I agree with you, i'm kind of an older pc gamer but growing up I mainly used the intellimouse explorer 3.0, after those were removed from production I shifted to a deathadder, after using some of the more modern mice these days nothing is nearly as comfortable, I think the EC series is good but I still prefer the intellmouses shape or the earlier deathadder grooves and shape, the new deathadder v3 does not feel as defined as I would like it too and while it's a good mouse I never feel locked into it like I would with previous versions.

Well said, I agree with for what it's worth. And yeah, I hear you man. Personally I'm bummed Razer decided to go the direction they did with the DA V3. Don't get me wrong, it's a great mouse (provided you get a good QC unit that is), but for me/my hand size/preferred grip style the DA V2 is noticeably more comfortable with how it sits my hand down and the way it supports/wraps my fingers around the right side.
I don't care for the trend of companies copying Zowie's homework because in my estimation nobody has made an EC-like shape better than Zowie's own EC2-C thus far. I expect many reviewers probably will disagree with me on that, fair enough. I just think the EC2 already exists, if I want that I'll buy it. The DA V2/DA Classic shape is actually very unique in the ergo space so it's a shame to see it go away. If I could get the DA V2 shape but with the wireless tech, sensor, and polling rate of the V3 and the side buttons just rotated/positioned back a bit I would be using it right now.

in terms of shape, what are your opinions on the np01, which has a right handed shape but a lower height...? I guess the width is also narrow like you said.

Vaxee make incredibly good mice in my experience. Their shapes tend to be great and their build quality also tends to be very solid for the mice of theirs I own. I like some of the nice touches they've done for their mice as well like how the material/texturing of the Outset clicks is different from the shell and the unibody design for that mouse as an example.
Regrettably I do not own the NP-01 and haven't had a chance to try it. I do use the rtings mouse compare shape tool a lot though: www.rtings.com/mouse/tools/3d-model-shape-compare/vaxee-zygen-np-01-vs.-benq-zowie-ec2?overlap=stacked&texture=outline
My initial thought is that it looks like a great shape, but I'm not sure if it's big enough to comfortably palm/relaxed fingertip grip how I like to. For my hands the EC2-C height is darn near perfect (it's the width that's more narrow than I'd like) and the NP-01 looks to have a shorter and flatter top. It seems to be a smidge wider though so I'm curious to try one down the road. Other reviewers like it a lot iirc -- for context my hands are about 19.5 x 10.7 cm there abouts if I measured them with my fingers compressed.

    Maybe check out MM720?

Thanks for the recommendation. It does look like it meets that criteria of being low profile and wide. I dislike holes in my mice shells personally though and the mouse length is short so I'm curious how this would feel in the hand. For me, the EC2-C height is just about perfect. I sure wish there was an electronics store where we could all go to just try out these niche shapes lol.

It’s a good mouse, don’t get me wrong. Sometimes I think maybe I just have freakishly wide hands or something lol
