Yes there would be enough room for a Gregory Baltoro in one of the two vestibules, however it would take up almost all the space.(that pack is about the same size as this tent...it's a beast:) It might fit better standing up against one of the pole supports, but I suspect it would eat up alot of the room and limit you to only one door/vest. for entry and exit.
no problem......the tent weighs in at 1 lb. 10 oz. ( tent, fly, & 4 stakes) not including the 2 additional 8" stakes and tyvek ground cloth that I carry.
sorry, no second impressions yet. It's been in the upper 90's for about 40 days now and I'm not into backpacking in sweltering summer Ozark heat so the tent has been packed away until it cools off a little. I too was torn between the Notch and Contrail and it pretty much came down to the 2 vestibules/doors , the 3-way set up options and the weight (in that order) which steered me toward the Notch over the Contrail. The Contrail has a bit more interior room but less versatility IMHO
dml505 Love, love, love this tent! Sadly, I haven't been able to get out much this year , and as it's getting warmer so I'm switching back to the hammock until Fall. You won't be let down by the versatility of this shelter. For me, it covers all the needs I look for while remaining simple, small and light. On a side note, I started carrying a 6' X 10' tarp to extend off one of the doors to allow for even more coverage for cooking, packing, lounging, etc. Enjoy your new Notch....it's awesome!
Tyvek will shrink some when first washed. So I would use it for a while, wash it, and then see if you still need
to trim it.
thanks for the tip on the tyvek....I washed it a couple times and it did become much softer and shrank a little but still required a bit of trimming.
Very informative cousin!
Looking forward to some fall/winter treks too.

thank you.
good review, thanks. How are you liking the tent? does it have space for 75ltr Gregory Baltoro pack.
tyvek house wrap...or anything waterproof and somewhat durable
Just ordered this myself, like the idea of duel vestibule, I'm wondering if you still like and use it

+Taylor Grabus You should look at Warbonnet for hammock and tarp, and Hammock Gear for under quilt.
thank you. Did you weigh it? what is the accurate weight.
