I love how the java is able to know and understand you guys. I’m always interested in watching your videos, I would definitely want a part 2
Thanks Christian!
if you guys want more ideas for videos, maybe you can make a “Sign Sunday” or “Sign Saturday”, aside from your vlogs to teach some sign language. i would be very excited for that
That's a great idea, love that
Yesssss!!!!
I would love this! I have been trying to learn ASL during quarantine!
agree❤
genius
Java is so cute!! She remembers me of the dog in the movie: Coco
Hahaha she does a little!
Dante?
Yeesssss. She really does 😂
Java does remind me of Dante! They look alot alike 🐾☺️
The sign language for “sign duo out!” at the end is super cool. Much love and keep it up sign duo!! 👍🏽👍🏽
Thank you! 🤗
I've never wanted to meet a UA-camr until now, I want to meet this puppy
Gee thanks! You want to meet Java but not us 🤣
Java is so smart! I think the eye contact is so important too because she knows when you are telling her something or just talking, like when you were talking about going for a walk but she knew you weren't telling her 'walk' if that makes sense..? I just know so many dog parents who can't say the word 'walk' without the dog getting hyper so it was amazing to see her almost recognise the difference between information directed at her (with eye contact) and general conversation (looking away). Amazing!!
Hello Sign Duo! 🙂 Have you heard of *community captions* being *removed* soon?
I am appalled by this decision since I rely on this tool for my educational videos, but *I find it much worst for the deaf people* because I imagine subtitles are an essential element for them.
Let's be honest, not all UA-camrs take the time to make decent subtitles so why would UA-cam even think of removing this option???
I write you this comment because you guys create very inspiring content about deafness and maybe your message to UA-cam could go further than mine as a very small UA-camr.
Thanks in advance and keep up your good content!
(please like this comment if you are in favour of UA-cam keeping community captions available)
If you dislike a sign duo vid it’s because you missed the like button
Facts right here
hahahaha 😂
Eye contact while waiting for command from Ellen *heart melt*!
Also she blew my mind when she can stand on her hind legs without moving!!🤯😲
melts our hearts everyday lol
@@SignDuoChannel wish I could show you how cute Obi was when he's cuddling with his dad, my brother in law!
Seeing Java’s small teeth when she looked right into the camera makes my heart happy😂💛
Hahahah we love when she does that lmao
Wow, you guys are AMAZING trainors! Not sure if I'm more impressed with you two or Java 😂💜
Hahaha
Such proud parents! Justifiably so, they have raised a well adjusted and beautifully mannered dog.
We are a hearing family. However, we DID teach our dog sign language! I wanted to be able to talk to him without saying a word. No real reason. I also taught myself to write with my feet.
I've never followed a life/family vlog before but you two are just super wholesome, Java is adorable and I'm ignorant about the deaf community so its nice to learn about it through your videos. Stay safe!
That really means a lot bro. I appreciate the support Ryan. Btw awesome that your name is ryan 💪
She’s so smart. I use hand signs with my dogs because my parents sometimes get important business calls from home. And signing “sit” is a lot nicer than screaming it from across the room lol
lol that's a great reason to use sign language
She’s so well behaved! I need to train my dogs better for sure!
This reminds me of my dog so much! We use mostly verbal communication with hand signs, but we have trained her to respond just with signs. No one in my family is deaf, but my parents work at a camp for the deaf so we all grew up around ASL. My dog is the same way, intently watching my hands when I give her commands. I also work hard with play time too, so I can reach out and pet her at any time and she’ll just start cuddling and won’t try to nip at my hand.
Yes! I really needed this! My dog just turned 13 and she's hard of hearing now.
I'm trying to teach her some signs so that I don't have to shout commands.
Thank you! Cleo says thank you too :)
Edit: I agree that visual praise helps. I clap my hands and she knows she did a good thing because she wags her tail!
Edit 2: Please do a part 2! :)
You're so welcome
Love seeing a well trained dog, and it's so clear how much you both love her! Never thought about giving praise/affection during play to make sure the dog understands it's non-aggressive. Going to use that tip in the future :)
Also she's so expressive I love it xD
I don’t skip ads on this channel 😉❤️✨
Same here! I let them play too!
Thank you :) it does help!
Sign Duo omg no way..... I’ve watched you guys for quite a while and your channel is so inspiring and thanks to you guys I started leaning sign language I love you guys so much 🤟 and watching the ads is so worth it for your channel!!
Her lip curl is THE CUTEST THING🥰
I knowwwww right!!!
These 16 minutes was so worth it! Thank you for this very interesting video! Java is really smart!!
Glad we didn't waste 16 mins of your time ❤️thank you for the support
I LOVE their little montage at the start.
That’s so amazing that you taught Java so he can understand you but then also so she can understand other people too! :)
Omg! That part where Java was waiting was so cute🤣❤️ she was like a statue ❤️ we need a second part too ❤️❤️😍😍
hahaha yea
She's so well trained! It's amazing!
Wow! That training is so good. Congrats!
Thanks Keyee!
It’s important that she can understand both of you guys especially in certain situations
I really like that they are so positive
java is the sweetest! she's so smart!
Y’all are really such good parents
I never comment on videos but this melts my heart. Such awesome couple and sweet dog.
You’ve done such a great job with Java! She’s a star ❤️
Haha yea she's the star 😂
This is so cute!
I think all dogs should be taught sign language, it’s really useful in some situations and if they go deaf when older it’s much easier for them. And it’s fun, and the eye contact really helps with communication. The waiting before a walk is called impulse control and is really good for them. Excellent job, and she’s lovely 😊
A bilingual dog?! TRU BIZ amazing! 😂
Please tell Java she’s such a good dog. So freakin cute 😭
What a smart and well behaved dog! I'd love to see a part 2.
I would love a part 2! This is really awesome to see!
I would love to learn how to speak Sign Language. I work at a Restaurant called “Panda Express” and there’s one guy that is deaf and I would love to speak with him. I am really a fast learner and i like learning new things. Im 17 years old and I really love watching you guys video ❤️🤘
I absolutely love this video! Eventhough I am hearing, my dog is deaf and I have had to learn so much to communicate with her. I got her when she was 10 months old and she was given away 4 times because no one had the patience to deal with her deafness. So when I took her in, I decided to train her with the help of a trainer and so many of the cues y'all use with Java are the same that I use with her. It has been hard, but so rewarding at the same time. She has taught me so much patience. She's the first dog I've ever had and has made me want to rescue nothing but deaf dogs in the future.
I know in one of your old videos you mentioned that you had kind of forgotten to speak because you were so in habit of signing at first. Funny thing is I found myself doing the same thing with my boyfriend's hearing dog lol. I would command in sign and forget to say anything, so his dog would just look at me like "wth is she doing" BUT NOW, he knows his sign commands too 😂
Also, it looks like at 14:25 some of the closed captions are missing. Just FYI in case you see this.
I see the captions
@Jade Hearts Thanks, I watched again later and could see them. Don't know why I didn't see them in just that spot =)
Aw, Java is so cute and so grown up!! 🥺😍
I would love a part two! She is so adorable. Thank you for sharing your doggo life with us! 💙
Of course Joanna :D
I love how excited Ryan is about Java. Lots of love there and it's so cute
Yea!! My protégé 😂
It’s so cool that u decided to get a pit bull ( and a deaf or hard hearing one ) bz so many people think pit bulls will kill u are bite u when they are just big babies 💖💖💖

Jose Nevarez
Yes
Oh my goodness this was the cutest thing ever ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
I am so amazed! what a well behaved girl...can't wait to adopt a pup myself and teach him/her all this stuff. You guys are great parents! 12:08 Ryan looks so proud!!!
Oh my god you’ve trained her so well, good job Java!
Thank you Kim :)
Right now I’m learning sign language and it’s helped me a lot when I watch your videos!🤟💖
When the captions cut out for Ryan towards the end..😬Just makes me more motivated to learn sign!!😆
That was so wholesome =) I'll gladly watch a part 2 any day!
Guys you are amazing! Keep your head up Ryan. I work at Walmart and on rare occasions I help deaf customers and I wanna learn sign language so bad so I can help them quicker and more smooth. I love your content! Love you guys! Keep up the great work!
I’m early this was posted 1 minute ago u guys are such a cute couple
does Ryan ever wonder what your voice sounds like?
i was wondering the same thing
Good question
Miasia a I was wondering that too

I was wondering
That was awesome! Thank you for sharing! ❤️
Enjoyed watching this! 🤟🏻
Who eles thinks he should put a ring on it!!! ❤️❤️
Ring on what??
Her finger 😏
Kitty her finger like propose!
@@salemmars1949 oh okay lol
Some of Ryan's signs are missing captions towards the end, for me at least. Just fyi!
This was a cute video 😊
I just checked them and seems like they are there? Maybe try again? :)
Java is literally so adorable!!!!😍 🥰 🥺🥺
YES WE NEED A PART 2 !!! love you guys so much ♡♡
I remember Cesar Millan saying "no touch, no talk, no eye contact." I'm guessing it's different with Java because she's hard-of-hearing.
That doesn’t apply to interacting with your own dog (not always, anyway) or dogs you know and have a relationship with, or not all circumstances, he doesn’t mean for that to be an all encompassing rule for every interaction with dogs. ❤️ It’s a good rule though for many occasions.
Awwwwwwwww
Edit: 2 of my dogs are 3,5&6 and they don’t know any tricks then my other dog don’t know how old he is but he knows some tricks
This is honestly so cool!
Java is SUCH a well behaved dog i love her you guys raised her so well haha
My family has some commands that we use that dont invovle talking but most of the time their too happy to pay attention.
Awwww what’s the best way to learn sign language? There is a deaf student at my school and I want to communicate with him!🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼🤟🏼❤️❤️❤️❤️
KAMI N Bill vicars on UA-cam is good. Signed with heart on Facebook and UA-cam. I learn a lot from Sign Duo but they do more vlogs than teaching. But they are sponsored by SkillShare and I’ve never used that but they like it so I recommend it too. There are lots of options. Good luck!
jessica sansom thx
Hope you guys don't mind me saying- please bring on a part two! Although Java is HH this stuff is so useful for ALL dogs. When we (trainers) first establish certain tricks with a dog we often use a hand signal first (light travels faster than sound and studies show that dogs are more nose & eyes orientated than other animals).
I did, however, specifically share this with someone I'm working with who recently adopted a deaf dog with no prior training. I know it's gonna be super helpful, so thank you guys. 👍🐾🐧
She is amazing!
I remember the first time my sign language teacher showed us one of your videos and I thought it was very snazzy UwU
Dislike buttons are just like buttons , but in Australian . Change my mind (you cant dislike a sign duo video , its illegal) .
The way you sign "sit" and "down" for Java is the same way we trained our (hearing) dog along with saying the words and he would also respond to the verbal or visual command alone!
p.s it's always such an interesting experience for me to go from watching Molly Burke (she is blind) to this channel and vice versa because your worlds are so different while also being very similar (lack of accessibility, heightened use of other senses, etc). Thank you for providing us with this channel!
@Prapti Kar Right?? So grateful these wonderful people share their lives and perspectives with us!
I love all of ya'll videos
Can I ask Ryan a question can he hear himself when he is crying or when is snoring?
I think they answered that question in another vlog!
Jade Hearts I want Ryan’s point of view if they did make another video on that when did they do it?
I thought no one hears themselves snore, as they're asleep? 🤔
Crying definitely not but snoring probably
Jay Punsalan yeap they have a video dedicated to that check out their recent videos
14:25 did anyone elses closed captions stopped working? Or is it just me?
yea they stopped working for me as well, it was kinda cool to see how much sign I could pick up on without them though
Not me
It seems to be working on my end
Nairo Camilo same
No... hope you found the problem though
She’s so well trained!!!
This is amazing!!!!

Yeah :( been weird lately.
Sign Duo thanks for replying :D
Random question!: do deaf people or do you in particular, scream when you get scared? Do you also laugh out loud? I am not sure if that’s a rude question or not but I am curious. Thanks! ❤️
I've never scared a deaf person, but they do laugh out loud. It's a genuine, unfiltered laugh :p and by unfiltered I mean, for example, they don't hear that they snort every time or that it's in some other way something we hearing people would work ourselves up about, and then work to change :p
I'm sure they do make noise when scared though xD I scare so easily and half the time the shriek is out of me before I've even truly registered it? I would be surprised if they never made noise when scared :p
Yess I would definitely watch a part 2! 🙌🏼✨ Java is sooo cute and energetic. It’s so fun to watch her interact with you two. And I love the funny captions you guys add for her “thoughts”😂
Love you guys and missed you ❤️
You are brightening up our days and put a smile on our faces, please keep posting more videos ❤️
I'm curious if Ellen listens to music ever, or if she feels like that's rude to Ryan?
She listens to music 24/7 :)
What if you wanted to go to heaven
