I actually like the mustang better than even the turkoman. I've had that thing throw me in a gun fight. Not sure how, but it was bad because I expected better from a war horse. My mustang (a normal wild bay I had, female), carried me through gunfights, wolves, cougars and the like without throwing me off. That horse is amazing. it's still with me too.
Only snakes and cougars scare my Turk. He will charge wolves (he has stomped wolves several times and killed them) and grizzly bears if I ride to them very fast. If I get too close he will refuse to go and begin to turn away but never has thrown me. I tend to dispatch anything dangerous very quickly once in range. I don't know if a specific horses breed has an AI of it's own but it's like the horse has grown to trust me. Buell is an absolute monster once fully bonded and will even kick the shit out of npc's and wolves.
@@fishfearme6606 I couldn't tell you. I used Buell too, and gosh I love that horse to death. Gorgeous horse too. I'm also wondering if the horses have specific AIs or something. But my mustang has never thrown me in any situation ever. I'm not sure why my Turkoman did.
the mustang has got to be the bravest horse in the whole game cause the mustang in this gave no fucks about the gun fire, and the tiger stripe i use can ran over multiple gators before finally kicking me off
@@hunterolinger1059 Haha, yes there have been many tests I’ve seen carried out on the bravery of horses. I have deducted (from my “research”) is that bravery is certainly mostly RNG, it seems the Arabians automatically lose some of their bravery because of their breed, and the warhorses gain some, if that makes any sense. I like to imagine it as a scale of bravery from 1-10 (10 being the bravest). Now say an Arabian strikes very lucky and has a bravery of 7. However, due to it being an Arabian, it loses 3 bravery. Now it’s bravery is 4, which is still quite good for an Arabian. A warhorse might have a bravery of 6, but due to its breed it may gain 1-3 bravery, making it an absolute beast as it should be. I feel this is relatively accurate and makes sense to me (I have deigned to call it the Bravery Scale. I know, very creative of me).
Same the mustang is easily my favorite in the game along side the breton I'm not super big into speed as some of the faster horses are only about a couple seconds faster
Please make a video only about gator/wolf test featuring all war and work horses and especially Buell. The stability test with wild predators is the most interesting part, because it’s not listed as all the other stats
I would be very interested in this as well. Even the fastest horse with the best stamina and handling is only good if it will allow the rider to stay in it's saddle under pressure.
MFT suits my style of play the best. I don't do much combat or hunting from horseback so I don't generally go for the super tough war oriented horses, but I like fast horses with decent stamina for when I ride around long distances at full gallop, I rarely ever use fast travel. I used to love the Arabian on my first playthrough but the MFT definitely is less prone to becoming skittish and bucking you off. For combat I like the Hungarian Half-Bred, not the toughest but a good balance of not being too slow while still having good health and not getting spooked by anything.
Astral Projection II got mine in chapter 2 of my 2nd playthrough and I have been riding it for around 200 hours of gameplay he’s called Arthur and I’m nearly at the end and am so sad to c my noble steed about to die an honourable death.
Walkthrough Gaming Channel go to Alejita wolfs channel on UA-cam and go to the vid about the Fox Trotter and in the first three top comments you should see a really detailed and easy summary on how to do it
Great video! These 2 are my favorite. I have both the amber and silver foxtrotters, and the tigerstriped and grullo dun mustangs. I use the mustangs the most especially when i go hunting and when i go to the bayou. They hardly get spooked and give me enough time to shoot. I use the foxtrotters for missions and for travelling fast
Yea I have a silver dapple pinto named Arthur as Arthur and I love that horse so much. I have an Arabian and turkoman but my foxtrotter is just different. He’s been with me since chapter 2 (second play through) and I’m now in chapter 6 about to ride him to a glorious death for my noble steed.
The MFT has a quality that is overlooked here. It's not about how agitated they appear, but how quickly they get over the agitation. I'm rather surprised that the Mustang performed nearly as well. Ah, you DID show it! I just saw the part where the MFT let you back on super fast. That tips the scale for me. Knowing I can run a bit and be back in the saddle fast means much better survival chances.
I have a tiger striped and I love him so much, his name is moose and I haven’t bumped into a tree or had trouble getting down or u rough terrain since I got him.
Did not care for the tiger striped mustang I caught last night. Got her up to level 3 before I stopped using her, she freaked out in 2 different gunfights in saint Denis and almost cost me and her our life lol. She even stayed freaked out after we had outrun the cops, my rose gray does 10 times better. I'm not ready to get rid of her yet so I left her at Beechers Hope since I don't have anymore stalls. Not sure if each horse is different on game, but I've had 2 grullo duns that we're outstanding compared to the tiger striped...I take my rose gray Arab gator hunting and have yet to get bucked off...
Yup, my white Arabian has NEVER bucked me before, even around gators or wolves, she just gets a little stressed but after a few pats its good! My Turkoman however has bucked me when near alot of gators. It's ok with 1&2 but it goes bad after that. Either way the 10hp it amazing and it's really good in gun fights . My Arabian is ok in gunfights it gets agitated alot tho. Both level 4 TL;DR: Turkoman-good at gunfights ,bad with predators Arabian-badish in gunfights, good with predators
I’ve had experience with the Mustang personally I use the strawberry roan Ardennes she’s very good In gunfights and decent around predators at level 4 bonding
I prefer the mustang to the fox trotter. People always think that the fox trotter is the best horse ever, but everyone has their own preference. I personally love the mustang especially the dun Kiger mustang. I am not a massive fan of the fox trotter.
I like how everyone has their favourite depending on their playstyle and aesthetic preferences. I really love the dark dapple grey Hungarian Half-Bred that you can get for free from the first Valentine bounty mission, imho one of the best horses for a good balance of all stats, and really pretty coat.
Of all the horses I tame the Tiger bay mustang was the hardest and the hardest to find took me like a hour whenever I found this horse the first time it always buck me off but I kept trying until I lost it I was really sad then the next day (in game ) I found him again buck me off too but then when I was about break/tame the horse it jump of the cliff and died I was mad and cryed lil lol but I tried again found him again he kept bucking him off but I never gave up until I finally broke him omg I was soo happy it took me hours to find him and tame him the stress was real I think the tiger bay was harder than the white Arabian idk that’s what think but I named my tiger bay spirit from the movie cause that horse did not want to be tame same has spirit wants to be free and wild and it kinda look like him besides the tiger stripes and the white mark on he’s head I love him so much 😍❤️
i loved mustang but i also did cared a lot about the looking of the horse. Mustang is too little for me and for that was the reason there were other choices before mustang for me.
Have the tiger striped bay named him stang i dont think i loved a horse more keep me safe when all my other horses would abandon me got me places fast without resting and gave me a reason to stay on rdr online
I love this horse she doesn’t buck me off, but the down side is when the lawmen or bounty hunter try to shoot at me and chase me theirs occasion instead of running she will sit there and stamp her feet and doesn’t move.
Among 3 fastest horse breeds in Red Dead Redemption 2 we all know Missouri Fox Trotter because healthy than Brindle Throughout Bred and Reverse Dapple Roan. Both health and stamina is same which is 6 when fully bonded but Missouri Fox Trotter health is 8 and stamina is 9 when fully bonded. I think reason why because its also work horse not just race type horse. Among fastest horse breeds in game gamers mostly buys Missouri Fox Trotter because healthier and stamina higher than Brindle Throughout Bred and Reverse Dapple Roan Nokata. I know this video not about Throughout Bred or Reverse Dapple Roan Nokata I just said it because speed is same with Missouri Fox Trotter. From my top favourite horse breeds in game among fastest is Missouri Fox Trotter like among healthiest pure war horses my favourite is Albino Andalusian because its free. When I own White Arabian in Chapter 2 I don't sell it until stable where you sell horse breeds you steal from in Chapter 3 pays you for $360 unlike other stables pays $240 if you sell White Arabian.
I got the silver dapple pinto for free in the second chapter by stealing it off a lawman when the waypoint brought me into blackwater for the mission where you rescue Sean. Charles and Javier helped fight, which made it extremely easy to swipe the horse once it spawned and run away. Just bring some health tonics to make sure nothing goes wrong!
Yes, in scarlet meadow stables (north of Rhodes) as soon as you reach chapter 4. Unfortunately I couldn't get it in chapter 2 because you need to progress to chapter 4
That test with alligators was not fair; all horse will buck you off when you are staying still next to a predator, and you kept the Mustang moving the whole time
I'm sorry, but how is the Mustang even a contender against the Missouri Fox Trotter? It maxes out at 4 speed, 3 acceleration, vs the MFT's 7 speed, 5 acceleration.
