Art Of Noise was JJ Jezalik, Anne Dudley and Trevor Horn, ie. half of Buggles, who had the first EVER VIDEO played on MTV, "Video Killed The Radio Star" and was also the driving force behind Frankie Goes To Hollywood's "Relax".

Thankyou so much for this video. Barely anyone covers this group. Also for the shout out to Yello, another great group. Loved to hear your experience of the UK back then. I was a kid with punk parents so grew up listening to all kinds of alternative music. It was the best time ❤

you know, i think we knew we were experiencing great things in the 80's , yet we were living in the moment. Gen X'ers , talk about it like we would hear stories of guys (gals) who went to Vietnam in the 60's. We did not go to war like them because Love was our Battlefield ! (see what i did there ?! ) lol.

Trevor Horn produced Yes's album "90125".
The drum samples are Yes drummer's Alan White's snare & bass drum hits heavily processed.
There's also lots of vocal samples ("Tummm") on Beatbox that are thought to be Chris Squire's recording on Leave It.

I was an architecture student and used this music to generate a visual score and then an architectural folly. Such a big deal influence back then. Yes, I got an 'a' at an Ivy League school for it. Ty Art of Noise+

@@steelekeepinitreel4909I was a Metalhead in the 1980's and was more into the hard rock, heavy metal and glam metal of that era but this is my favorite Art of Noise song.
I did have friends who weren't into metal as I was they were into the Punk Rock scene and dressed as you described of the British Punk with Mohawk hair styles mesh fishnet shirts camouflage pants and the Doc Martin knee high laced boots which were a fashion must among punks.
My friends punk girlfriends had Mohawks also and pierced noses.

@@steelekeepinitreel4909the track is 'Metaforce' from the album "The Seduction of Claude Debussy" which is a musical biography of Claude Debussy. Released in 1999 10 years after "Below The Waste"
Art of Noise stopped releasing tracks after "Below the Waste" because they didn't want to be associated with the rip-off sampling bands around at that time (beats from one track, bass from another, samples from another etc and calling it original music)
"Seduction..." is a fantastic album that is fantastic to listen to in one hit. The Narrator for it was the actor John Hurt (Elephant Man, Alien)

first of all ,your wrong..they were not a hip hop group they were a synth pop group as stated by themselves

first of all, i never said they were a hip hop group, i said they were very instrumental to hip hop. 2nd of all, if your gonna say , "1st of all", there should be another example besides that one !
