  • Here is a long version of a common video I post on shorts with a voiceover explaining some of the steps. It’s more informational than instructional but you should be able to pull some nuggets from it.
The end is a test. Almost every video I post has someone in the comment section that says “it will fall off with first swing” “that’s not secure” etc. I smack the hatchet around a while and it didn’t move and the wedge is stuck nicely. Of course it will need conditioning for a longer life. #handmade #satisfying #woodworking

Very nice .. saw one that used a 9mm brass case on the end so when they cut it off it had a ring of brass around in the center thought that had a nice look

I have seen the same. I’ve used copper connectors before as well. Thanks for watching 👍🏼

I have got two double bitted axes like this made by plum. They are very good axes. Unfortunately my grand son broke one of the handles out of one of them. I haven't been able to find a handle for it since.

Check out Whiskey River Trading Company. I am going to have single bit handles available in the future but it would be awhile before I had double bits. Thanks for watching.

@@jeffarp7409 could try making one yourself, maybe try modifying a larger wooden pickaxe handle if you have the tools ?

If you haven't beat the wedge into the cement like it owes you money you aren't trying.
    Looks snug and neat man

That one is for a customer. I honestly can’t remember what I quoted them. Haha. That gets lost in the making sometimes. Thanks for watching. If you’d like something like that just reach out 👍🏼
