Sarah, thank you for being here. A couple of yrs ago your videos encouraged me when I was pregnant. I have now had two amazing, soul-healing home births. I am now working on being a homemaker and a Proverbs 31 woman. I am breaking the cycle of two generations of military moms who did their best to survive but never modeled homemaking. You are the best kind of 'influencer.' You are like a sister. It's not obvious to me how to keep my home, and just having someone model it for me is priceless. I have been in a cycle of catch-up days because I have no good routine. Just your opinion on keeping consistent and not allowing that to be the norm has created a mind shift for me. I'm also currently using your old video to heal my abs postpartum. You are lovely, thank you for sharing so much. p.s. love the red hair.
I love your videos! I'm also a mama of five kiddos (ranging 3-10 years). I loved your thoughts on eliminating catch up days, and then it made me wonder if you have a schedule for home making (cleaning, what days you do what, etc) to avoid the need for catch up days? Would love to see a video on that!
Great video! A game changer here has been to wash and dry laundry in the evening after kids are in bed, and then folding and putting away the next morning after breakfast.
I'm pregnant and my mum is in the hospital with terminal cancer. I have had a lot of catch up days recently, but my husband is also incredible. I love your tips. The one that I already do is getting things ready before you need them. Since I have young kids, I often find myself preparing lunch after breakfast or sometimes even dinner, especially if it's a crockpot meal. This helps so much,h especially with littles.
I love the idea of structuring your evening according to what you've done in the day. The evenings are so tricky for me. I usually just collapse. But the idea that I could use that time to reconnect to myself or whatever needs to happen according to what I need that day is revolutionary. Thank you for the video!

Great tips! We like to have less stuff in the house and there’s beauty in it because you’re first more intentional on how you spend your hard earned money and buy only things that you love and will use. Even if I bought something but not loving it when I try it at home, I return it. Second, having less stuff creates a more peaceful place: when I visit houses that have aloooot of stuff, it almost gives me anxiety 🤪.
Even though my husband and I have no kids, but your timemanagement speaks so well to me. I think it is important to keep the possibility to act and react flexible and individual each day. Really enjoyed this video! Such a good point about learning when to rest and when to take advantage of those pockets of time, When I'm consistent with maintaining I do better as a homemaker. I use to prefer catch up days, but now as a mother I would rather break it up into the day to day or it becomes overwhelming.
Taking time out during the day for your own well being worked well for me while raising kids but even after when they grew up because have to balance school and work. Take the time to meditate do yoga or exercise but think all f us have our own way to take time out the day for yourself💫
Your mess can look beautiful. Hear me out on this your pots and dish wear thats out and about is your decor. Your books laying around is decor. Your cutting bored and teacup is decor. ❤❤❤
I love your structure and routine. My only question would be what are your kids doing while you’re doing certain things? Like I can’t even make a simple breakfast without my kids needing me every minute. Do you have any crafts or ideas that keep them busy without constantly needing me?
I have a one year old, a two year old, and a three year old. I've found that at least at these young ages, they respond well if they know the expectations. I have to decide how to communicate something, such as "Momma can't play or help while I'm cooking," and then stick with that and reenforce it as often as necessary. I can't make exceptions when it works out (I know I have two minutes so I can help you put a costume on this time for example) because it confuses them and then they don't know the expectation. When I introduce a new expectation, it'll be a lot of complaining for a couple days and then they'll get used to it. I'll sit them down and tell them "I'm having a difficult time getting the cooking done so I have to make a new rule. This is what we're going to do from now on." And then I try and be consistent until they're used to it and it'll become normal. It seems to work for these young kids, and I'll add that if I know that I'm going to be busy for an hour then I'll pour into then with quality time if I can beforehand. But ultimately, there are times they can't have me as a playmate and it's not their preference but it's just the way it is, it's in my consistency deciding how to respond that forms the atmosphere around the situation.
I think her husband watches the kids, he works from home I believe. Our kids are always around me and it’s chaotic and loud, and to keep my sanity and being able to make dinner or meal prep in peace and quiet, that’s when they get their screen time.
I'm with you! I have a 2.75 yo old and a 9mo. Despite all of our efforts, they do not play well together indoors. There's constantly 1-2 children crying at my feet or needing up. It's a successful day when I get to make dinner. I try to tell myself it's a season but ooofff these routines don't feel attainable at all right now!
Quick questions I have neither a mixer or bread machine. What would benift me more? I have a starter that has been going for a year now. I enjoy baking. Ive been using a dutch mixer for everything. Which works well. I have some strong arms. ❤❤❤
Question: how do you/when do you find time for just you and your husband? I mean to talk about important matters, have intimate time or watch a movie. we have 3 young kids - 4, 1.5 and 3 months. of course I'm always breastfeeding but the only free time we have together is at 3am and I'm so tired
I really struggle with motivation. (I have ADHD and chronic anxiety. I go to a Christian therapist and psychiatrist and handle the whole situation holistically with supplements and lifestyle chages, not meds. I tried them just to know what it was like and they really didnt work out/weren't worth the problems they caused. For me. No judgement to anyone who takes them.) If I had children, I would want to homeschool and do things very much how you do. I honesly worry that I would get overwhelmed and give up and my children's lives would be chaos. I would take care of them, but life would... Just be a wreck. When I watch your channel, I become reminded of my motivation and feel a bit more renewed. Then sometimes I feel like even more of a failure because I dont think I'll ever be able to measure up. That leads me to ask the question, how do you find that balance for yourself? I feel like you are an island and do all of this on your own. Is that the case, or do you have much more of a community? You never talk about people who help you, so i just wonder how you do it. Not trying to be invasive or put you on the spot or make you feel guilty, I've just always wondered. And yes, I know God helps with all of this, but I'd love to hear how you keep yourself in check. I did see the video about you dealing with the pain you were going through while doing schooling and such...it all just seems like so much. All around, I love your channel (loved your old channel too!) God bless you and your beautiful family! P.S. -I love how you protect them and hide their faces online! 🤗
You made cookies in the toaster oven?? My oven gave out around Thanksgiving and I've been sadly storing frozen cookie dough while I work up the courage to try the toaster oven to bake them...
I was on board with your advice until your hate on catch up days. You're very fortunate to be home and unbusy enough to be able to live without "catch up days" much, imo it doesn't mean things aren't working with our lives, and I don't think you should hate on them. You give the impression like those of us that need catch up days regularly are lazy or not managing our time correctly. I absolutely have a catch up day once a week, you ask what are we doing between those catch up days? WORKING OUTSIDE THE HOME lol. I'm military and I'm a freelance musician with two young children, we live on a homestead that keeps us very busy as well. I don't have a regular schedule and catch up days are key to our home. When both parents work outside of the home it's a very different world than the privilege of working at home and judging others without knowing their circumstances or saying that they shouldn't have this or that based on circumstance is a very tricky game to play. Do you want a gold star for staying on top of stuff so much, cause this whole section feels a bit righteous.
I didn't pick up on any judgement at all from her video. This is a dive into her life and what works for her. She never once said that others should live as she does, she is simply stating what works for her. Also, who are we to assume her life is so easy? Sara does a good job of keeping a lot of her life private and it's not our right as a viewer to judge what we cannot see. Also, we all have different energy levels. Some of us can go go go and thrive on that, others need way more rest to recharge. I hope you can just watch her videos and feel grateful for the bits of information she finds helpful to herself, she is simply hoping to help others with the tools she has.
I don't take hate on catch up days from this video, but also I disagree that we have to avoid them. Same as @stchubs, I have 2 kiddos, husband working from home but full-time, me working from office and some side hustle, so 2 days a week I just come home very late. So weekends are mostly for deep cleaning (although we do tidy up every single day). And I laugh every time I hear "one laundry a day" rule. Having 5 ppl in the house, kids learning to control physiology at night, I have to make 2-3 laundry every. single. day. So if we cut some slack sometimes, I do have to catch up on the weekend. Still, I love the energy from this videos. And some good advices, as always.
In your situation I don’t think that would be considered a “catch up day” that’s your chore day. I think her point was just to not rely on something like a catch up day. If your schedule only allows you one day per week, than that’s your thing, it works for you.
I have 2 small children (4 years and 9 months), I work from home and kids are with us, they don't go to kindergarden. I have no problem in doing chores etc. if someone is watching the kids. But when I am alone with them, I have a problem because even going on toilet is challenging since the baby cries if he is alone more than 5 minutes. So I don’t always cook but prepare simple meals. I see that many American UA-camrs have more than 3 children so I wonder do they have any help. Who is taking care of children when you film yourself, when you go shopping, or when you bathe?
@@heather6404so true! 😅 our toddler keeps messing her drawers because she dresses herself and it’s super sweet. I go through her drawers only about once a week and tidy it up. That way she gets used to see things neat so that she can start repeating this habit (which she started doing once in a while).

Some of us can go go go and thrive on that, others need way more rest to recharge. I hope you can just watch her videos and feel grateful for the bits of information she finds helpful to herself, she is simply hoping to help others with the tools she has.
This comment is what feels righteous. Do you want a star for playing an instrument and working outside your home?
I get what you are saying. Most people have a “reset day” to get things done so their week goes smoothly. No shame in anyone’s game.
What about when kids or you couple is sick? I feel like I can’t keep up with my schedules because of things keep 😢come up during this crazy season
My tip would be to stop folding kids laundry.
Thisssss. It's such a mess after they start wanting to dress themselves or even toddling around and can access their dresser and pull everything about
@@heather6404so true! 😅 our toddler keeps messing her drawers because she dresses herself and it’s super sweet. I go through her drawers only about once a week and tidy it up. That way she gets used to see things neat so that she can start repeating this habit (which she started doing once in a while).
I have a 9 day old baby. First time mum, honestly feel like I’ve joined the best club in the world
Congratulations!! ❤ Mum of 4 😊
Yay!!! How exciting!! It is the best 🩵🎀
Congratulations Mumma ❤ lean on those around you whom love you and your little one and would be honoured to help you x
Hi Sarah! I purchased the year subscription from you link. Everything was fine and the discount was applied until I accepted the payment (via paypal). Then I saw that they charged me the full amount… do you know how to fix it? I could never afford this much money unfortunately😔🙏 thanks, I love your videos
I overthink time way too much. Just “DO the next thing” -from a poem popularized by Elisabeth Elliot
You are such a darling sarah ❤
You really are calling me out here Sarah 🥴
The newest Marvel superhero, UltraCuteMom...
I’ve always called it a donation bag but maybe that’s because I live in the U.S. and our climate/politics make a “to-go bag” mean something entirely different 😂
Je ne comprends pas les gens qui mettent leurs chaussons ou chaussures sur le canapé, c’est tellement sale.
