    I learned to play this masterpiece of slow blues and slide 49 years ago. What is not easily apparent to the viewer is the incredible nuanced play of Mick Taylor's slide work and the accompanying rhythm guitar by Kieth Richards. Sir, you have it nailed down as best as anyone could ever attempt it. It takes a lot of finessed control to get all the little details in and I can't find a single flaw in your performance . Excellent! Thank you for sharing.

    Mick Taylor's presence from '69 - '74 was during the Stones glory days. Plain and simple.

      MT's playing pushed them to the next step up the ladder for sure. Aside from occasional side contributors, MT is the only true lead soloist the Stones have ever had. Ronnie's wonderful and Keef still rocks his Chuck Berry material, but ...

      I loved the Brian area as well. I despise Ron Woods.

    • @es2056
      @es2056 11 місяців тому

      @@chasbodaniels1744 Ron Wood is the biggest hack to ever come out of the UK. After they made Mick Taylor feel like he wasn't a part of the group and got him to leave Kieth insisted his replacement could not be someone who would make him feel inadequate/inferior. Hence Ron Woods becomes the second Stone to fill Brian Jones' spot. What has Wood ever contributed to the Rolling Stones except to get on stage and provide two hours of ridiculous non-stop rock star "posturing" with a lit cigarette dangling from his mouth.

    Well, we’ll, well. Very impressive! I know Mick Taylor was playing the slide solo with a moderate degree of improvising, but you did that via 100% memorizing his parts. How I have no clue. I would have forgotten the rest after eight bars! Well done!

      This solo is awesome and happyhotstar executes it to perfection here. I actually really like Taylor’s solo from the ladies and gentlemen love in vain as well. No slide on that one but it’s still one of my favorite solos of all time.

    • @MrBluzhound
      @MrBluzhound 5 років тому +4

      Yes, the slide is the first half of the song. In the video you can see him slip into his pocket and finger the last (furious) minute or so through those smoking Ampeg’s.

    Guys forget about tab! Just watch em and listen. Takes some time. Little tip, if you have snap chat you can record segments of it and that way it will keep looping over and over. And it will be faster and easier to match up with what he is playing.

    Ah, hold your tongue about Ronnie, yes Mick is a great asset to the Stones during this post Brian Jones period, Ronnie Wood is no slouch on slide guitar. I've heard Ronnie pull out some pretty cool stuff over the years, he doesn't do it everyday, look how many gigs these people have played by the way. Anyway , great job on the tune, did you drop your high E string down to D, just wondering

      +Jan Andriessen The first part of the song is standard tuning. The slide part is open G. Only change the high E string, drop it down to D, since you will be only using the 1st 4 strings, leave the 5th and 6th strings alone.

    excellent.
    M Taylor a transcendé les Stones qui commençaient à battre de l'aile en 68 ; après la mise à mort de Brian Jones il fallait quelqu'un de très solide et M T a été le choix idéal pour le groupe ; Clapton qui était sur la liste ( et que j’admire ) n’aurait pas donné cet éclat sur les albums get yer ya ya's out, sticky fingers , exile on main street....
    Les requins Jagger et Richard l'ont évincé, dommage.
